No Giggling - I've Bought a Bike

Every weekend I have watched Chris go out on his bike and wished that I could go along with him, he started when we began our healthy eating regime and has got up to a 20 mile ride in one trip.

So in light of this I somehow decided and told him that I intended to get a bike and start riding. I had money gifted to me at Christmas so I bought a Nishiki Hybrid lightweight cycle.

It arrived today and this is Chris adding the bits for me.

I was tempted at this point to tell him it was upside down but I was good and held my tongue.

He had it the right way up in no time at all

I am super excited and can't wait for tomorrow to come so I can give it a whirl.

I've got all the gear, hi-vis-jacket, helmet, trainers, tops and leggings.

So wish me luck, if you are really good and I survive my first bike ride tomorrow I may even take a picture of me alongside the bike dressed for action.

Bwahaha....love your comment, Chris! Good luck to you BOTH! Jak, you are my hero - I've wanted to take up riding for a very long time. Somehow neither the seat, nor the tires look quite large enough for this lady! Can't wait for photos!

you are braver than I. Can barely ride a bike and hate it when anybody comes near me whilst riding so I don't. Good luck

Good for you Jak! When I was 37 I started to ride a bike again - I used to ride to school until we got a school bus when I was 13! I absolutely love it! Since then (25 years!)I have done 37 charity cycle rides for the British Heart Foundation. Did I say I love cycling? LOL! Good luck and enjoy! Christine xx

Good for you Jak. However must tell you I have a bike that I have only used once in the last six years. Must get on it again!! However my excuse is that where we were living was all up and down hills. No excuse now, plenty of cycle paths in Denia and it is flat. xx

You go, girl! You will love it! We have our own bikes--along with a bicycle built for 2! We get a lot of smiles and waves when we ride that one! Only thing is---I have to trust hubby to drive as he has to be in front-so much taller than I and I can't see around him. Of course I also hear a lot of "Hey-did you know she's not peddling?" which isn't the case at all! Enjoy! Blessings, Sharon

Great choice in bikes and a terrific exercise to do together. I'll wish you good luck, Chris, but I don't think you'll need it. She's a champ!
