50 Shades of Mirri

New from Hunkydory Crafts 50 shades of Mirri, released today on Create and Craft TV.

Superb for giving your card making that something different.

This card was made using one of the blue shades, it die cuts beautifully.

I also used a digital image from Mo's Digi Pencil and coloured her with only the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens, I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get skin tones and shading with them.

Happy Babe with Chameleon Pens

I had another play today with the Chameleon Pens, I love that I now wont have to carry hundreds of pens around with me to get good results when colouring images. It took me a little while to get used to them and playing is the key to that, not worrying about spoiling an image, after all it is a piece of paper and can be started again, I printed out a couple of practice images to test on before I used the images that I wanted for cards.
This image is called Happy Babe and can be found at Mo’s Digital Pencil
Happy babe1
As you can see, blending with the Chameleon Pens works beautifully, I used Bubblegum for his cheeks, Bisque and Fawn for his Skin, Crimson Red for his Tongue, warm Sunset and Bark for his Hair, Cool Grey and Sky Blue for his Diaper and Royal Blue for the shading below him.

Privileged a Mo Manning Original

The doorbell chimed to the tune of the floral dance and I did my usual cringe that I do every time it chimes, Chris programmed it when we first got it and to be honest he was thrilled to bits with the result, I however try to let it finish before I open the door but as I have the builders in they had already laughed their socks off at the sound coming out of it.

I opened the door to a delivery driver asking for Jak Heath As the parcel had to be signed for. I advised that I was Jak to which he looked me up and down obviously expecting Jak to be of the male variety.

I saw Mo's name on the box and immediately became very excited to the amusement of the builders. I took my scissors and carefully opened up the box, I didn't know what was inside but I thought I had better open it carefully.

For those of you that don't yet know of Mo Manning she is a very talented artist friend who never ceases to amaze me, she writes and illustrates children's books, creates the most amazing image stamps for the crafting world both in Rubber and as Digital images.

The contents of the box just left me speechless, something that is a rarity for me. This is something that I totally fell in love with when Mo created it.

Meet Mary Lennox, created on 18th January 2014

Isn't she gorgeous, the concentration in her face, so very studious for such a dainty soul

And the little robin peeping out from behind her.

The back view.

I will truly treasure this.

Thank you Mo x

One Image Four Looks

I just wanted to show the value of Digital Stamps, in this day every penny counts so the more use we get from our crafty goods the better. I love that with both digital stamps and rubber stamps you can change colours and get further inspiration from the colour change.

This one is Pucker Up from Mo’s Digital Pencil and shows this colour change perfectly.

Pucker up1

The first being brown toned hair, keeping the skin tones tanned and green eyes and vest top.

Pucker up2

Next up is the red head, keeping a fairer complexion with hazel eyes and an aqua coloured vest top.

Pucker up3

Next comes blonde hair, pale complexion, baby blue eyes and a wine coloured vest top

Pucker up5

Lastly is the strawberry blonde with brown eyes warm complexion and burnt orange vest top.

Total Wipe Out

Wow I was knocked totally off my feet with a Flu bug. Aches and pains, shivering then a temperature, sore throat, off balance, a headache that had me blind and face numbness. I felt totally wiped out. I always pick up bugs because of a low immune system, and colds are quite dangerous for me, work colleague's bring in the bugs instead of staying at home then I go down with the super bug. It’s a vicious circle that just keeps giving (to me).

So no crafting, no computer, just bed, sleep and meds.

Today was my first full day out of bed, still off balance husband had to drive me to a hospital appointment but this afternoon I sat and made a card (yay)

Goodness by Mo’s Digital Pencil

Goodness1

I used kraft card and used my Prisma pencils to colour the image, it has been so long since I played with them that it took some getting used to again but I’m pleased that I did persist.

Broked

Some things just make your heart melt don’t they?

This image Broked from Mo’s Digital Pencil does just that.

I felt that this card needed to be clean and simple.

broked1

Coloured with Copic Markers and chalk pencils, keeping the pastel tones soft and delicate.

The sentiment comes with the image and is perfect for it.

Last week while I was in Peterborough I bought a new pillow, I had been awaking on a morning with such pain in my neck and head and believe me I had bought and tried so many pillows trying to find some comfort, I used the powers of Facebook and I had so many people recommended the Dunlopillo that I decided to test it out, I found it in John Lewis a couple of different ones so I asked the assistant if I could try them, although a little hesitant I persuaded her to clear one of the display beds and there I was in the middle of a busy shop testing all of the pillows.

The result is 5 nights good sleep and no discomfort in the morning, a little discomfort to my purse as it was £60.00 eeeek! But to be honest I’d of paid double to get a comfy sleep.
