Crochet Angels

Back home after a wonderful holiday, as I showed previously I had took my crochet with me, I need something to send me off to sleep and find the concentration of crochet does the trick for me.

This was the first Angel I have made and I used Patons 100% Cotton 4ply yarn and a 1.75 crochet hook.

She stands at approx 9” tall.

I hadn’t realised that I had her leaning back when I took the image but at least you can see the finished piece. Surprisingly easy to make comprising of half double crochet, double crochet and single crochet.

Although the yarn was thinner than I usually work with she still made up quite quickly.

Her hair was the trickiest part and although I don’t thick I did it correctly it looks similar to the pattern which I found at Annie's Crochet store here

My Next angel |I made to use up the yarn I had left and I made it for my dear friend Ruth as she keeps me sane, It stands approx 4” and I had to learn a new crochet stitch to make her, the frill is made with a Love Knot.

She’s just cute.

I have one more to make up and i think it will get a home at my Mams house.

Crochet perfect for Traveling

I always struggled when holidaying wondering what to take to occupy my crafty mind and twitchy fingers on evenings and last year I learnt myself how to crochet.

A ball of yarn and a crochet hook and your ready to go.

Chris had a few worries on what I was making, he thinks the top picture needs tassels, and the bottom left he thought I was making a Sun hat. The bottom right picture is a cactus which is growing on our balcony and on an evening it looks like Jesus is watching over the beautiful sea.

All will be revealed to what I am making when I get back from my travels.

(For the record, that is my knee in the top picture)

It is a beautiful sound waking up each morning to the waves crashing on the shore.

Creating Your Own Personalised Mugs

Creating your own special Creating your own special personalised mugs, sounds fun doesn't it?
Well, it is, first I thought of a photo, maybe a family member a Grandson or Granddaughter a loved one maybe. Add some text, that could be real fun, a special date to mark an event.
The choice is yours.
I did a hand drawn image of my own then uploaded it to Mr Nutcase and chose which mug I wanted, I like a big cup of tea so I decided the 15oz mug would be best for me, I then sat back and waited for it to arrive. That is how easy it is.
Mr Nutcase does all of the work for you, I'm in love with my new mug, best of all is that no one can steal it or use it without knowing it is mine, no excuses.
Here is is from all angles.
If you want a reasonable priced gift, what could be better than creating someone their own personalised mugs for their favourite brew?
You can get these here Mr Nutcase

Flight of the Butterflies

Be still my beating heart, that is the exact words that I said when I received this kit for my Shows on Create and Craft Saturday today at 3pm and Sunday 9am and 3pm.

I started to prep my demos for the shows and just couldn't stop, the more I used it the more I loved it. This set is quite different our usual Hunkydory sets, it craves to be used and explored.

I hope you can join me for some inspiration.
