Its Started–Wedding Stationery

My youngest Daughter Natalie and her fiancé Adam are to be wed next year so there is lots of preparations to do.

We went and chose the most beautiful wedding dress but of course I can’t show you that yet, we also sat down and started to look at her wedding stationery, we have mocked up a few ideas and we now know what the invites will be like but in the mean time we needed some save the dates making and sending out.

I finished them last night and she collected them so now I need to start the invites.

And…. if you have been feeling a little tired lately and unsure what to do this maybe your answer, just look what our local garage did.

Gold on White with Spellbinders

Not a lot to this card but I love the look of it.

It started with a bit of play, I used the Spellbinders Rustic Wreath M-bossabilities and the Wreath Die using some silicon gel to adhere the die cuts.

wreath1

I used glitter glue around the edges of the die cut pieces to add a bit of sparkle and some pearls from Mei Flower as the berries

wreath2

Tied a pretty sparkly bow around it once I had matted it onto gold card and then glued it in place onto a white card.

Isn’t it pretty?

Golden Rose

I love days when I get to play and experiment, it doesn’t always lead to a card and sometimes in fact often can lead its way right into the trash can but sometimes I can get something I quite like from it.

Today I was playing around with glimmer mists, I had to dust them off first as they had been sitting on the top shelf in my craft room, I took a cream rose and spritzed it with the golden shimmers mist.

Golden Rose1

I used the Cuttlebug to emboss a background piece of card and found some guilding cream to highlight the embossing.

Golden Rose2

I used a Pumpkin bottom pearl from Wholeport to dangle from the silk ribbon bow, they are so pretty with the little jewel on the top.

Time for Tea–Die-Namics

I can think of so very many people who I could give this card to, perfect for the Tea lover, me included. Strong with a threat of milk please.

I used a die from Die-Namics called Time for Tea. It was a bit like playing Mother when you are little, loads of little play things like a spoon (I love the spoon), teapot, cup and saucer, tea-bag, just love it.

Time for Tea1

I added the steam lines to the cup to make that it had been freshly poured.

Time for Tea3

Oh yes and the spoon (love that spoon), I popped one inside the teacup and this one I tied the ribbon around it and the teabag, ribbon and twine from Ribbon Carousel.

Time for Tea2

Do you want to come and play tea parties with me?

Alterables Strip Die–Tim Holtz

I recently bought the one of the Tim Holtz Alterables Dies made by Sizzix and decided to do a quick card with one.

I also used the Sizzix snowflake embossing folder and I have to say I loved putting it together. Sometimes it’s good to play.

I added the ribbon from Ribbon Carousel and the snowflake charm and gems from Mei Flower to finish the card.

Prim Poppy and Tessatina Border–Memory Box Dies Card

I wanted to do a simple card with some dies that I have been itching to use, Prim Poppy and Tessatina Border dies by Memory Box.

I was just testing them out but I’m thrilled with the card, Clean and Simple although took a little while to work out what to do with them.

Prim Poppy_Tessatina border1

I cut the Prim Poppy twice and layered the heads of the poppy with some foam padsthen glued them onto the red card and took my black fineliner by letraset and drew on the stamens.

Prim Poppy_Tessatina border3

The Tessatina border was cut twice and joined together to look like a trestle and carefully glued in place onto the white base card.

Prim Poppy_Tessatina border4

I used an EK success border punch on spare white card then tied a beautiful 1” White Grosgrain Ribbon from Ribbon Carousel around it then glued it in place.

Prim Poppy_Tessatina border2

Finished off with a couple of matching stick pearls and some flat backed pearls in the corners of the red card.

Oh Baby!

We have two babies that will arrive into our family in the next couple of weeks so I thought I’d best get cracking with something pretty. One of which will be Kim and David's, I guess most of you remember the tragic loss of their beautiful baby boy Layton and I know many of you gave so generously when I did the fundraising for meningitis in his memory.

I love Mo Manning's baby images, so beautiful and this one is no exception.

Baby Boy b is from Mo’s Digital Pencil babyboy1 b

Coloured with Copic markers and prisma pencils the swirly embossing is a sizzix embossing folder and as this is an 8 inch card I used the Grande Calibur from Spellbinders to do the embossing. I don’t have a raspberry plate so I used the cutting plate and the B plate for the Cuttlebug.

The gorgeous ribbon is from Ribbon Carousel

Christmas Wedding

So something Christmassy and for a Wedding…. eeeeek was the cry from me, I didn’t know where to start.

I had a hospital appointment today for my psoriasis and it seems I have a new Doctor, I have to add here that he was lovely, a total breath of fresh air, everything was positive, he was thrilled the way my new meds are working and also prescribed something new for the bits that won’t shift but I came out of hospital feeling very positive and I think that helped in getting my MoJo working.

I popped into our local Wilkinson's store on the way home and found what I needed to make the card. It is a wooden heart themed as a partridge in a pear tree but it has two on it and they are kissing yay for Wilkies

Christmas Wedding

A bit of Cuttlebug embossed background a sumptuous gold ribbon and a couple of rings and Bobs your Uncle I have a card.

………….

Spare a Moment

I know many of you have been following Katie’s Progress and given very generously to the fundraising but I want you to take a quiet moment and give Katie my beautiful friend a place in your thoughts and prayers.

Unfortunately Katie is a very poorly so a quiet thought for her and her wonderful family wouldn’t go a miss at the moment.
