CPS Card Sketch Challenge 173

CPS hold a card sketch challenge each Week (see here) and it has been such a long time since I did any challenges that I thought I would give this a whirl.
I used the Papertrey Ink Fancy Flourish stamp set and the paper flowers where made from a scalloped circle punch, I used the swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder at each end of the focal image added a couple of beaded stamins and a ribbon and a bit of love to bring it all together.

A bit of Sunshine

Most people that know me would tell you I'm the only person they know that can kill a Cactus but that doesn't stop me trying to grow my own, It is absolutely shameful that I am the way I am as I come from a background of vegetable and flower growers.
My Dad used to show his Vegetables and won many a trophy yet here I am useless.
this is Dad 21st September 1968 I'd of been 3 years old.

So with the help of my Mam and a lovely next door neighbour here is my contribution to summer.

Such a shame not to capture a bit of beauty

Salmon Begonia

As you can see I'm not quite green fingered yet but I am trying.

First Mate Kate - Digi Stamps

Ahoy me hearties
On an outing with my Mam I came across this pirate themed money box tin then I was inspired to make a matching card. I used First Mate Kate and the Pirate Stuff digi images by Mo Manning and coloured them with Promarkers.

I'm hoping that you can see that the card is 3d. the barrels and First Mate Kate were cut out then added with foam pads, I love how this has a pirate stuff package so you can build up the scene you want, in this instance I made up the background using the coconut tree the parrot and the bell bar all on a 14 x 14cm card.

In the Quiet Arms of Prayer

The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

After the last week of stress and finally getting baby Jack home from hospital this theme seems to be quite apt don't you think.
The image I love ya Tomorrow is a digi image by Mo Manning and it is sure to bring some sunshine into your card making.
OK how many of you broke into song whilst reading this? I've been singing since starting the card and still singing whilst posting it here for you ha ha ha.
Coloured with Promarkers, Martha Stewart around the page punched used, Kaisercraft background paper and a little pearl bow embellishment and a bit of love to bring it all together.

Attention to detail...

I had to make the attention to detail the backing paper by Kaisercrafts, it is so tactile that it would have been a shame not to showcase it, this is one of the flocked sheets from the Belle paper stack.

Sharing Good News

I only have good news to share with you all today.

Baby Jack is home....

He was giggling with that curly nose cheekiness today which was an absolute pleasure to see, after all the checks and a dressing change he was allowed home.

His mam is ready for a night in her own bed as she is shattered and although he screamed the hospital down while his wound was being packed and dressed I'm sure jack will be glad to be back in his home environment too.

He will have to return back to the hospital each day to have the packing and dressing changed but at least he is on the mend now.

So no card to show you all today but I'm sure you will all forgive me.

Did i tell you that i have the best blog followers in the world that leave the most wonderful comments ever?

Jack 12th June

Well it has been a very stressful few days, Jack was so poorly he was took into hospital and you wouldn't have given him twopence the first couple of days he was so poorly.
They had concern for a large lump under his arm and after a ultrasound scan it was confirmed to be an abscess.
Today he was took to theatre to have surgery to have the abscess drained.
The operation went well, they have left the wound packed but open to allow it to drain and although he is still a very poorly boy hopefully he will be on the mend real soon.

Thank you for all the care and concern you have shown, Lauren, Jacks Mam has been reading all of your kind words and appreciates all the thoughts.
