Brusho Art

I took the plunge and opened my pots of Brusho paint which had been sitting on a shelf for around 5 years, mostly because I never had the time to explore them.

I took a pokey tool and made a hole in the top of each pot and then started to play, I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do with my pieces of background art but here it is, my first Brusho art.

Brusho art1

I have to be honest, it felt good to get my hands dirty and my fingers are now stained with blue, turquoise and black paint but I’m sure it won’t take long to get them cleaned up.

Brusho art2

I used the La La Land tree die on one piece of the background and die cut a couple of trees layering them up on another background and then used some snowtex paste to add some texture, finished with lots of distressing and matting and layering and a couple of gems on the trees.

I think the packaging may have changed since I purchased mine but you get the information on it.

Spring has Flower burst with Couture.

It has took me some time to get this together, little bits here and there when I was feeling well enough but with the help of Hunkydory Adorable Scorable and Glitter Glaze card stock, My Silhoutte Portrait and the Couture Flower Burst die collection I got there in the end.

Flowerburst1

Even the center flower was made using the Flower Burst die collection.

Flowerburst2

I figured you might like to know that the flower was made using a couple of the reflection set dies.

Songbird Collection

Today I should have been at Create and Craft with the Couture Collection cutting dies but unfortunately I ended up quite poorly with an underarm abscess and had to have surgery on Monday.

I had planned to do this project as one of my demo’s and had all of the pieces cut out so I’ve put it together to show you here.

The 6 sided milk carton box was made from a 4 sided template I had but it worked out pretty good after a little alteration, the songbird collect was used, this is the reflection dies.

As you can see it makes the perfect gift box.

Don’t forget the Couture collection are on special offer buy one and get one free if you are a member of the Create and Craft Club, this is a mahousive saving.

one more show tonight at 7pm so don't miss out.

Altered Book

I saw one of these on the Spellbinders Booth at CHA in Anaheim and was determined to try this for myself.

I have to be honest and say it took a little while to do but I love the end result.

Book_Frame_Wisdom_Jak_Heath

I loved the distressing and gold leaf work, it does you good to get your hands dirty once in a while.

Book_Frame_Wisdom2_Jak_Heath

Curling the pages, finding something to go inside the book and stringing some beads, metal button and some hessian to make a bow, a bit of die cutting and some punch craft.

Couture Dies with Sign Vinyl

Something was bugging me, I had to try it out, Will the Couture dies cut sign vinyl to make home decor.
I knew it would cut through the vinyl but was unsure if it would wrinkle or if I would be able to transfer it in one piece after cutting it or even if it would release from the die.

Well the proof is in the pudding (so to speak) so I took a leap of faith, purchased a glass brick block drilled a hole through it (ok I got Chris to drill the hole) and here is the finished result.

Spellbinders at CHA

Monday I got to browse the show and I have to say that the stands are amazing, just look at these displays from Spellbinders. I may need to get Stacey and her team to my house to organise a make over.

This is something that I will definitely be trying out.

Aren't they beautiful?

The one thing that I will say is that I could have spent all day just admiring their stand.

I totally fell in love with “A Guilded Life”

twinkles, sparkles, glitters, gold, diamonds, pearls, lace, what more could a girl need?

Close up alert.

One display after another and all a feast for the eyes.

I’ve so much more to show you but thought this was a fabulous place to start.
