Brusho Art Flowers

Time to take it a little step further and introduce some stamps into the equation.

brusho art4

Choosing the colours was the first job, flowers - crimson, scarlet, vermillion, gamboge. Leaves – leaf green and lemon.

I used a stamp set from Papertrey Ink to stamp out the flowers, leaves and the swirls on the background in stampendous Frantage Shabby white embossing enamel.

brusho art5

This time I wet the porous card and sprinkled the powder in the places that I wanted the colour, i felt that I had more control of where it was going.

I cut out the leaves and flowers and laid them how I wanted them then added them with pinflair glue gel to give dimension.

Saturday is a together Day for Chris and myself, weekends we take time out to be together and enjoy each others company.

Today I declined from the cycle ride but Chris went out early morning and come home like a drowned rat, he was soon showered and ready for the rest of the day together.

It was a naughty kind of day, it started well with porridge and banana for breakfast but then we did the sin of going to Dalton Park and grabbing a Latte to go from Thornton’s (you always get a chocolate to go with the coffee, now if that wasn’t bad enough we had to pass by Millie's cookies and a toffee cookie was calling our name, not one but two each, oh well I’m sure a cycle ride tomorrow will sort that out for us.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend too.

Home made Ice Lollies

Todays post has me remembering the Ice Lollies my Mam used to make, we had Ice Lolly moulds from Tupperware, they were the juiciest ice-lollies in the land, we used to experiment with flavours.

The only downside to it was when the ice-cream van came round, I was told to get an ice-lolly out of the freezer.

Summer boy is by Mo’s Digital Pencil and I’m figuring that he has a raspberry ice lolly clenched in his hand.

Summer boy b1

Coloured with Copic markers and teamed with Papertrey Ink dotted paper and DCWV striped paper.

Summer boy b2

he’s definitely ready to give someone a soaking.

Flamin Go

Apparently when flamingo’s start their courtship the male of the species has to win it’s mate by performing a dance and when she is suitable impressed she gives in to his charming light-footedness and they become mates for life, this then excites others around them so much so that they copy his dance to celebrate. amazing huh!

Meet Ollie and Olga by Karen’s Doodles I could have gone two ways with this stamp Ostrich or flamingo but when i checked out their courtship habits I knew which i had to do.

OllieAndOlga1_jakheath

It’s kind of funny because in my own courtship Chris was known for trying to impress me at the disco with a kind of turkey strut Oooo the memories.

OllieAndOlga2_jakheath

Little Walker

Oh how I remember those first steps, just how wobbly they are and more often than enough then land on their bums, thanks heavens for nappy padding. Before long they are like whippets and you need to be as fast as Linford Christie to catch them ha ha!

Beautiful Flora and Embellishments

After using a digital stamp for my card making yesterday from Funky Kits I couldn’t resist getting this little beauty too. Her name is Flora.

I also found the most delightful Etsy store full of fabulous embellishments and everything just kept dropping in my basket and when you receive your order it is all so pretty, the lace was wrapped around dolly pegs with a little pearl topped pin to secure the lace in place ooh and the pearl embellished large pins are just a delight. All of the embellishments on my card, lace, pins, pearls, buttons and flowers are from this cute as a button store and tomorrow Thursday I will have more to share with you about it and even a giveaway for some lucky person.

New Love–Prisma Pencils

It had been so long since I did a full Prisma pencil colouring and sometimes it is god to revisit old techniques that I really enjoyed making this card. I blended the colour with the white pencil and my finger rather than using the usual method of gamasol or baby oil.

The image is called New Love and can be found at A Day for Daisies .

I also used a Papertrey Ink polymer flourish stamp from the With Sympathy stamp set and heat set it with white detail embossing powder and blended the edges od the card going over the heat embossed detail with aqua ink.

Ribbon and pearls and a bit of love brought it all together.

Adding a few basic score lines onto your card can make it look classic a more expensive card stock, it's amazing what it does.
