Janie Wisht Crochet Doll

I wanted to crochet a doll, she had to be Ragdoll like and I have to say that although very fiddly to make I quite like her.
I don’t think that I would make another as my poor fingers ached like crazy whilst making her.

She is made with cotton yarn which may have contributed to the sore fingers as it doesn’t glide so much and involves lots of pulling and tugging.

I cant say it is inexpensive to make because cotton yarn in colours is very costly in comparison to other yarn but you do get a more rigid torso.

I decided all clothing would be in a softer DK baby yarn and her hair is made with a boucle mohair yarn.
I’ve named her after my Grandmother whose name was actually Jenny but my Dad always called her Janie Wisht which always made her giggle.

A dress for Tilly

Every now and again I like to stretch myself and make something out of the normal, I have been doing crochet for a number of years, mainly blankets, hats and the likes but was desperate to try something different.
That’s where Tilly comes in, she is a friends Granddaughter and is the sweetest little thing ever.
This is her.

I started a dress and I knew she would be the perfect model for it and she didn’t disappoint me, isn’t she just precious.
It is made in DK yarn and has an underfrill attached in white
She is so content, such a good baby.
And utterly scrumptious
I have another project for her as she needs a Christening shawl, her gown is incredible and sh has a big day ahead of her,
but for the time being I’ll leave her here to melt your heart.

Sleepy Mouse Crochet.

Once upon a sleepy crochet mouse. I really need an extra large one of these to snuggle up to.
Time for beddybyes sweet sleepy mouse

The flutterby yarn is so soft and scrumptious, I’ve given the legs safety joints as I remember my own gorgeous teddy had when I was a child, actually if I have to be honest my favourite teddy was a pass me down from my brother who is 11 years my senior and yes it was so loved it was threadbare.

I think this little one needs to be loved just as much as my old teddy bear.

I may have to do a little friend in soft grey for this little one.

Flutter by Unicorn.

With a bit of flutter by yarn a Unicorn is born.
A work friend is expecting her first Grandchild very soon an as they know it will be a little girl I thought this was very fitting. I just love a bit of crochet whilst watching TV, I like to have busy hands.

Such a pretty little thing and so soft and snuggly.

Her mane has sensory locks for the baby to hold, It was hard to give this cutie up haha!

Isn’t she adorable 🥰 I just hope that baby will love her as much as I do.

Crochet cushion cover

I finally found some time to crochet a cushion cover, I bought the pattern months ago but it took me a long time to find the shade of Aran wool at an affordable price to make it.

I'm really pleased how it turned out, more so that it doesn't itch my face when I sneak in a Grannie nap.

I think at some point I may need to make a dark coloured inner liner for the cushion but for now I am just pleased that it is finished.

Crochet Wrist Warmers Blog Candy

Would you like the chance to win a set of wrist warmers?

I was chatting with Rossella in the green room the other day we were both saying how in the colder weather we are both needing to keep our hands warm and use wrist warmers and fingerless gloves.
I was saying how I use the spandex ones for when my psoriatic arthritis flares up when I am at home but really don't like wearing them out because I have to go through the whole explaination of why I wear them as they look very medical.
So I set to with my Crochet hooks and made a set of wrist warmers, then I set to and made another set and thought is would be nice to give them as blog candy.
If you would like to have a chance of winning these, just leave me a comments and I will draw a winner on Sunday 6th March (Mothering Sunday)

Many of you have asked for the pattern for the gloves, this is a bought pattern from Ravelry and can be found here

Big Minion

Meet Eddie, he is the unsung Minion, as soon as he saw the Minion Crochet hats he asked if I could make him one,

Doesn't it suit him, he will be a Best Man at my Daughter Natalie and Adams wedding next year, that is Adam stood behind him.

And another, Eddie is normally sporting a wheelchair but that doesn't stop him from enjoying life to the full.

This crowd of friends are just lovely, they all get on so well and look after each other and both Chris and I had a wonderful evening with them all tonight, Stephen was the host (Lauren's Partner).

Me and my girls.

Even Grandson Jack got in on the act

Crocheting for the Children

I've been ever so busy trying to get some crochet finished for a baby that is on the way.

A baby blanket, baby hat and baby booties make a lovely gift for a mum to be.

One of the floor managers at Create and Craft is due to go on maternity leave very soon and knows that she is to have a baby boy. I thought it would be nice to show my appreciation to her.

I'm really pleased how these turned out and will be taking them this weekend when I am back there for the Hunkydory Pick of the week.

I also made a Minions style hat for Jack as he is crazy about them, I loved it so much that I made a smaller version too.

Details of how to make the hats are on the previous posting from me so check it out, very easy to make.

Crochet Angels

Back home after a wonderful holiday, as I showed previously I had took my crochet with me, I need something to send me off to sleep and find the concentration of crochet does the trick for me.

This was the first Angel I have made and I used Patons 100% Cotton 4ply yarn and a 1.75 crochet hook.

She stands at approx 9” tall.

I hadn’t realised that I had her leaning back when I took the image but at least you can see the finished piece. Surprisingly easy to make comprising of half double crochet, double crochet and single crochet.

Although the yarn was thinner than I usually work with she still made up quite quickly.

Her hair was the trickiest part and although I don’t thick I did it correctly it looks similar to the pattern which I found at Annie's Crochet store here

My Next angel |I made to use up the yarn I had left and I made it for my dear friend Ruth as she keeps me sane, It stands approx 4” and I had to learn a new crochet stitch to make her, the frill is made with a Love Knot.

She’s just cute.

I have one more to make up and i think it will get a home at my Mams house.
