Iced Cookies

I’ve watching in awa of some of the iced cookies that I have seen, at Christmas I made the Christmas cake  and decided to use a cookie mould, this was a Karen Davies mould, and I iced with royal icing to decorate, I loved how it turned out.

Obviously it is a learning curve but it was fun and we enjoyed snacking on the cookies before cutting into the cake.

Maybe it was a bit adventurous for my first but I enjoyed the process.

Make your Own Chocolate Santa Sleigh

I made these chocolate Santa sleighs many years ago when my Grandson was very young and as he couldn't remember them I thought I would do it all again for this year, I think everyone would agree we have had a very weird Covid year and could do with something to cheer us up.

Chocolate Santa Sleigh

I filmed making these so that you can see how easy they are to construct.
I will place them at each setting for the Christmas dinner but they would be equally fun as a gift for someone.

Happy sleigh making.

Fancy Fold Card

I love working with paper, of course pretty papers help.
Paper pads have came down in price over the years and you can get get pads that have substance relatively quite cheap to what the used to be.

I used a 6 x 6 printed paper cut in half and scored in opposite directions then cut at an angle and butted together at the centre. a second paper underneath to make it pop.

layering up a Tim Holtz tattered poinsettia to use for the focal point.

A Christmas Centre Piece

Still playing ahem... working with glass pieces but this time for the dinner table.

This was made from a balloon Gin glass.

Paper napkins were used alongside the starlight paints.

I little bit tricky trying to work from the inside of the glass.

Love the overall effect.

Making Christmas Gifts

Getting ready for Christmas and making some gifts.
Bonbon Plate
A large glass plate painted with Starlight Paints by Imagination Crafts and some Christmas napkins.

Love working with starlight paints and normally I work from the back side of the plate however was a frosted plate and wouldn't show the image so I worked from the front with this one.

I actually love how it turned out, quite different from working on the reverse as you see all of the mica flakes from the front.

As you can see from the above picture it is so sumptuous.
all in all I think both my Mam and my Mother -in-law would both love this plate.

Something that could be brought out each year.

Angel Camael

"There must be an Angel playing with my heart"
Actually it was me doing the playing with some Powertex in ivory, some Katy Sue Design Holly Berry trio Moulds and a plaster Angel Camael.
Oh yes and an empty coffee jar.

I wanted a keepsake jar or maybe a bon bon jar for treat that wouldn't look out of place alongside my Christmas tree, I loved making this.

For those of you that haven't yet used the Katy Sue Designs Moulds you are missing a treat, they are so detailed and wonderful to work with as they release very easily. I can hear some of you saying I can get cheap moulds from other avenues but believe me I have seen them and tried them and they don't give a third of the detail and are made from substandard silicon unlike Katy Sue which are first class and will last you.

As you can see it is quite a tall piece as it was made around the large size coffee jar rescued by my lovely husband from his work place.

So now I have to decide what to put inside, do I fill it with my favourite chocolates and take the chance of the rest of the family digging into them or something that I don't mind sharing?
What would you do?

As you can see from the image below you also get the special edition magazine with this kit to give you oodles of inspiration.

For thos of you that are planning to watch the show check out my poinsettia brooche that I made out of some of the mirri dazzle card from previous shows.

Make a Chocolate Santas Sleigh

I thought it was time to repost this as it was so popular.
I stumbled upon this idea tutorial for a Christmas Sleigh gift and thought it would make the most fabulous place settings for the Christmas dinner table.
Well who doesn’t love chocolate? Not many that's for sure.
The idea for the place setting only came when I gave my daughter a peek at what I was making for Jack and she cried “I want one too Mam” so what was once to be only two or three soon became eight that I needed.
I ran out of bits for my place setting so I still have 1 left to complete but I was itching to show you all.

sleigh1

Aren’t they sweet? (pardon the pun) I even found some little chocolate Santa’s to drive the sleigh.

sleigh3

As you can see we have candy canes, KitKat, miniature Cadbury chocolate, Kinder bars, chocolate coins and in the adult ones Dime Bars. I tied it all together with ribbon from Ribbon Carousel

sleigh2

Come on get out those glue guns and set to work on a treat to remember at the Christmas dinner table.

Brusho Art

I took the plunge and opened my pots of Brusho paint which had been sitting on a shelf for around 5 years, mostly because I never had the time to explore them.

I took a pokey tool and made a hole in the top of each pot and then started to play, I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do with my pieces of background art but here it is, my first Brusho art.

Brusho art1

I have to be honest, it felt good to get my hands dirty and my fingers are now stained with blue, turquoise and black paint but I’m sure it won’t take long to get them cleaned up.

Brusho art2

I used the La La Land tree die on one piece of the background and die cut a couple of trees layering them up on another background and then used some snowtex paste to add some texture, finished with lots of distressing and matting and layering and a couple of gems on the trees.

Brusho art3

I think the packaging may have changed since I purchased mine but you get the information on it.

Hunkydory Festive Birds of Britain

I'll be back at 6pm today Sunday with this gorgeous set, brilliant for winter birthdays too. I would hate you to miss out on this set as it is simply beautiful.
This is a couple of the cards that I made on yesterday's shows.
This is one from the robin topper sheet, the gold center embellishment was made with hot glue and the diamond sparkle glitter.
This next card was made using a sheet from the Little Book of Festive Birds and the Book of foiled backgrounds.
As you can see this set has stunning artwork.

Festive Splendour Hunkydory

I’m all for using up all of my bits and pieces when buying a kit and this seamed the perfect way, after using a couple of the toppers to make cards I can find that I have spares on the sheet and occasionally a background card too.

Festive Splendour from Hunkydory has so many pretty background sheets that I thought it would make a perfect designer gift box to accompany the card I had made.

Festive Splendour 1

I also used some Adorable Scorable for the box base in a contrasting colour.

Festive Splendour 2

Now pop in a few home made sweets or maybe cookies and you have the perfect Christmas treat in a beautiful gift box.

Christmas Wrapped Up

Well nearly anyway, I’ve just about finished, 2 more things to wrap and my job here will be done, This year I decided I would use lots of brown paper, I used a high quality roll 50 metres of the stuff and then some contrasting wrapping papers, red bows kraft gift tags and I am awaiting 2 x 25metre rolls of ribbon to arrive to tie packages together, if it doesn’t get here they will just have to wobble.

How are you all getting on?

Demonstration Day

I have started to get ready for a demonstration day for Stix2 and Woodware, I have been playing with samples and trying new products and thought you may like to see what I’ve been up to.

This card was made using the Stix2 Hot Glue Gun and the Tri Pack of Seed Bead and Glitter and the silicone glue.

Also the Woodware Clear Magic Holly Panel stamp, Tombo Pens and Gold Metallic Wax Paste.

Stix2 and Woodware Glitter Holly Card

The Hot Glue Gun was used for all the glitter embellishments, it was brilliant fun making my own twinkling 3d stuff and so easy to do. I used this silicon glue to add them to the card.

The stamp image was coloured with the Tombo pens and I stamped the image twice as I want the holly to be 3d, again using the Stix2 silicon glue to make the leaves pop.

I used the gilding wax paste over the embossed card and on part of the stamp image.

The demonstration day will be 18th October at Dainty Toys in Washington.
