Needle Felted Grey Bunny

I couldn't leave my first needle felted bunny without a companion so here is Oscar a little grey bunny and companion to Rosie, I think you can see that they have become firm buddies.

Isn't he gorgeous? I think Rosie loves him.

He's a real sweetie, I made him more fluffy than Rosie using more Merino fine wool.

I start with using Carded wool for all of my figures as it builds the shapes quickly, the refined and coloured parts are a more refined wool.

Baby Bunny Needle Felting

Still learning the needle felting and I think I've fell in love with this sleeping baby bunny one.
Adorable.

I've trid to capture him from different angles so that you can see how cute he is.

I have added a video below just to try and show how tactile he is.

I have been studying other needle felters work and found this and fell immediately in love

I'd love your comments on this one and I may need to do another in a different colour so that he doesn't get lonely.

Needle Felting Edwardian Lady

I was itching to try my hand at a free standing needle felt figure, to be honest I didn't really know what I was going to make when I started this.
She took loads of carded course core wool to to make her body but I think the end result was worth it.

I love everything about her, I made her a coat and matching hat, then added tiny roses and leave to decorate.

I gave her an up-do hairstyle fitting for the outfit.

I also thought a hand muff would finish her perfectly.
I'm really rather pleased how she turned out all 6 inches of her.

Needle Felting Fairy Amy Felthouse

Maybe I'm going a little housebound crazy but this little fairy totally reminded me of Amy Winehouse, I sang her songs all the way through giving her the hairstyle.

I love the rich colours on this one and thankfully when needle felting now I hardly ever need a band aid for my fingers (yay).

I now have quite a collection of these fairies so may need to do a give away once it's safe to go out.
How is everyone else entertaining yourselves? Have you learnt a new craft?

Needle Felting The Robin Fairy

Another Fairy for another special lady, This one is for Noreen Mckie although I'm unsure to when these fairies will be posted due to the current COVID-19 situation
I know how much Noreen likes Robins so I figured this one would be just right for her.

I have to say that I love the colour way on this one and loved making her hairstyle.

I wish I was brave enough for her hair colour myself but would fear that I would look like Mrs Slocombe

Needle Felt Pooch Fairy

This gorgeous fairy was made for my good friend Ruth, I try to add something to the fairies that mean something for the recipient so for Ruth it had to be a  West Highland Terrier.

it also needed to have a blonde bob hairstyle, I think I got this one just right for her.

Needle Felt Hare

Spring has sprung in my house, My lovely friend bought me a needle felt kit to keep me occupied whist I was recouping at home. I was thrilled and got to start with it as soon as I could.
I free-handed a mushroom to sit along with him to set the scene.

isn't he gorgeous, I may need to felt another in a different colour way, he reminds me of Pipkins which was one of my favourite programs as a little girl.

I was pretty pleased how the mushroom turned out too.

Yesterday was a pretty yucky day for me and I spent most of it in bed, Today is a little better thankfully.

Crazy Bee Fairy

You will all of heard of the crazy cat lady, yes? well I have a friend who is the crazy bee fairy and has wrote several wonderful children's books about bees so I thought I would Needle Felt a little fairy to watch over her and this is what I have come up with.

I have to say that the bees were trickier than I thought they'd be but after I had stabbed my fingers a couple of times, I learnt to keep them well out of the way pretty fast haha!
Do you know the difference in wings between a fairy and an angel?
A fairy has 4 wings and an angel has 2 wings.
I didn't know so I am learning along the way.

Needle Felting Fairy

I always like to try a new craft each year and I needed something that I could sit is a comfy chair with a lap tray and wasn't heavy. I have a few weeks of rest and recoup-oration after abdominal surgery so needle felting won.
I started before I went into hospital and this is my first attempt.
she is a KatySue cake fairy.

Of course I have handed this one to Sue Balfour as its in our company colours.
I've loads more to make and I'll blog them as they are finished.
I have to say as my first make with needle felting I'm pretty pleased with the result, I hope you like her too x

Wedding Guest Book

Carrying on with the wedding theme we mustn't forget the guests.
These are the chosen few that are important in our lives and who we want to share our special day with.
They also have the best tales about us so why not give them a platform to write a little something and we can look back over for years to come.

this is a 12 x 12 scrapbook with crisp white blank pages inside just waiting to be wrote on.
I chose to use HTV (heat transfer vinyl) in rosegold from G.M.Crafts  as I didn't want this peeling in a few years from now so the addition of heat setting it should keep it perfect.

I think you'll agree the rosegold is perfect, not brassy or in your face, it's a beautiful vinyl.

Work Shed Window Vinyl Decal

If you are looking ahead for Fathers day gift ideas here is one that Mr H loves.
His work shed window was looking tired and dirty until I did this for him.
I cleaned the outside of the window and set to work.

It was a work in progress cutting the wood grain patterned self adhesive vinyl first and laying down the foundation to work from.

Building up the layers I used silver gemstone vinyl next, this was all of the metal bits
on the design.

Next came the black vinyl as you can see it is coming together nicely.

Next up is the red, it's really looking the business now especially as My H also washed the inside of the window and I treat him to some brand new blinds.

you may also notice I used the patterned vinyl for the hammer handle and the pencil.
o the last layer was the yellow to give it a pop of colour.

we both love how this turned out and I'm sure it would be perfect for lots of men's tinkering sheds.

Fathers Day - Don't Panic

Who do you think you are kidding!
I suppose you have to be a certain age to appreciate this one.
with printed vinyl you can have so much fun, G.M.Crafts have got you covered with a fabulous selction of printed vinyl like the one I'm showing here the Union Jack.

Dads Army the old sit com was one of my husband favourite and we often end up watching repeats on it.
So yes he actually loves this T-Shirt and wears it with pride.
I love you easy gift giving has become using vinyl and tailoring a design to an individual means it doesn't get pushed in a drawer and forgotten about.

in all a fairly cheap T-Shirt and a 15 second press to make a personalized gift.

3 Seconds Turbo Vinyl

You read that right, a heat transfer Turbo vinyl from GM Crafts that is only  a 3 second press with a firm pressure.

It really is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Step 1.
The first layer placed down and given a 1 second press just enough to grab the vinyl to the material.

Step 2.
Add the next layer over the top of the red and press for 1 second.

Step3.
Add the next layer over the image and press with a firm pressure for 3 yes 3 seconds.

Tad-ah it's done, isn't that just amazing? Turbo Vinyl simply rocks.

Multi Layered Heat Transfer Vinyl How To

How to start with layering HTV ( Heat Transfer Vinyl)
When you see a multi coloured design using vinyl it can be a little daunting but it doesn't need to be.

Where do you start? well I think finding a design that you like is a very good starting point. Then I would say finding a vinyl that is of good quality that has been trialed and tested.
That is where GM Crafts comes in. For my project I used the Premium Vinyl, it's flexible and just look at the colour range.

Once you have your colours you need to take your design into your electronic cutting machine ( I used Silhouette Cameo)

When I send to cut it was easier for me to cut by colour fill, see the pic below.

Once  each colour of the vinyl is cut and the weeding is finished then the fun of adding it to your project begins.
I found it best to print my design out onto paper and add it between the layers of the T-Shirt, I could see the design through the T-Shirt making it much easier to know where each colour needed to be when pressing.

Working one colour at a time and pressing for 5 seconds until all layers are completed.

Once I have all of the vinyl colours on the T-Shirt I gave it a final maximum 10 second press and then you're done, For an EasyPress machine follow the manufacturers recommendations.

This could be the perfect way of using up all of your colour scraps.
