It is something that we have been planning for a while now. I know the bathroom is the size of a walk in closet but is was a closet that was desperately in need of a make over.
The plan was to get rid of the bath, we only used the bath to step into to have a shower so it was just crazy to keep it.
From there we decided on a quadrant shower unit, the largest we could get that would fit into the bathroom, a new vanity and handbasin and of course a new loo. Wall tiles and floor tiles and it would be completed, of at least that was the plan.
So the work started today and I took the easy option of going to work, in fact what I should have done was stay at home and make sure that my craft room door was closed tight.
I have a nice thick layer of dust over everything inside that room now.
That's it then, no turning back now.

It took them three days to put in and tile our new bath and shower so from that experience I hope they finish soon for you. Hazel x
Hope you get it done quickly so you can have everything in place soon. Hugs xx
I'm sure it will be fab when they finish, just have to put up with a bit of a mess in the meantime. At least you don't have to use a potty tonight!

Been There, Done That! I really don't envy you Jak but I hope your workmen are better than mine! We had water running through the hall ceiling just as I was getting ready to put up the xmas tree - ended up ripping the ceiling down to get to the pipe under the shower above which the 'plumber' hadn't blanked off properly. Xmas just didn't happen here. Yours has got to be better, anyone would be :)
OMG is correct for this project. Hate to hear the dust in your craft room because it's such a mess to clean up. Just remember how wonderful it will be soon.
know how you feel jak looks like my kitchen last week we were back to brick and had a tap and that was all got the new one fitted now but no worktops till wednesday so no sink or hob till they are fitted. it will be worth it in the end jak when you have your lovely new bathroom. at least that`s what i keep telling myself lol.

Wow Jak, looks like they worked hard today to make it look that way. I hope you share the finished results with us too.
Just doodle in the dust in your craft room lol.

Sorry to hear about the dust in your craft room - workmen just DON'T THINK when it comes to these things!!! SO glad to see your throne intact though - LOL
xXx
Looks like the workmen were very neat in piling up the debris. Too bad your craftroom door was open. Hope nothing was damaged by the heavy dust.
You are probably better off by going to work than to be there watching them demolish your room.
At east you have a plumber to fix your bath, we've been trying for about three months to get someone to replace a shower, my DH feel through the door and broke it off......

Have been wanting to do my ensuite but keep putting it off because of the mess - your photos confirm my fears. Hope your man is a quick worker.
Oh Jak I remember having to go through all of that and the plumber/builders didn't leave anywhere for us to pee! Lol! lucky for me we had a Porta potty at the time! Yikes!! Just think abut the finished product Jak.
Love Sheila xx

Just want to say thanks for the recipe for, your mumsjubilee cakes have now been made in Canada
Too bad your craftroom door was open. Hope nothing was damaged by the heavy dust. These all things are great to know about it.
men would never think to make sure things were protected from the dust etc... shame on them!!!
Wow - what a transformation this is going to be... I can't wait until you blog the results (hoping that you do)... it'll be stunning when they've finished.
Don't worry at the size of the bathroom - any bigger and it takes space needed for other areas of your home... lets face it - how long do you sit in a bathroom to have a chat and pass the time of day - or each or admire the view... yes, a massive bathroom is lovely - but how many old houses have a massive bathroom but is as big as the kitchen... all I can say is - WHY?!!!
I think the bathroom in my last house was only the width of my toilet cistern and the bath - not even the basin - which was at the end of the bath - and needed a fold back door - not even a regular door would fit it was that small... but this maximised the size of the bedrooms - so back to what I said... as big as it needed to be to carry out ones little tasks!!! LOL!!!
