Breast Screening Day

It’s official, you get to a certain age in life and it happens.

I have been called for breast screening, I don’t mind going today really in fact I think it is a good thing that our hospital has lowered the age for it.

However, I have had this done before a good few years ago when I had a bit of a scare, now what worries me is back then my skin still had its elasticity and today I’m wondering if my boobs will bounce back as they did then?

So I’m sat here in the waiting room wondering if chicken fillets will be the answer for my bra’s to give me the desired lift to keep me of the feminine nature.

Oh to be young and perky again ha ha!

So you could say this gave me the inspiration for my card today.

After the screening I rang Chris to be greeted with, “now then saggy boobs” (except he didn't say boobs (go figure)), isn’t he a sweetheart ha ha!

It’s a strange thing went you sit and think of back in the day isn’t it, whites were whiter during the twin tub and coal mining years, days were carefree and less rushed, a family holiday was a picnic by a river or in a field.

Great card Jak. I always think breast screening is like having your boobs put in a sandwich toaster, xx

Best to get your puppies checked out Jak! Even if it's not the most fun thing you did today! Maybe all that stretching & squashing makes them bouncier! lol
The things we women have to do!

I have to suffer this indignity myself next tuesday, for the first time. As a lady with a little more than I would like up top I'm hoping for a bit of a reduction, so no chicken fillets for me thank you. At the end of the day I think I prefer to suffer the indignity, rather than the alternative.

Know the feeling! Recently had to postpone my own (frozen shoulder makes dressing/undressing myself tricky enough without witnesses!!!) but I WILL reschedule!! Hope all will be well with the results of yours.

So glad you got the girls checked out. I am overdue and your post reminded me to take card. My sister had breast cancer and it is a happy story as early detection saved her life... she is nearly 20 years cancer free- was diagnosed at 40 years old. That scare makes me drag myself to the screening but I do it and your post could not be any more timely...for ALL of us. My hubby still loves me droopy girls- and so do I! xxx Ann Marie

I've been going for years Jak, since I was 39 and I'm now nearing 60! There's breast cancer in the family so I've been on the program for that reason - I think it's very worthwhile but have to say I'm happy that it's now every 3 years instead of annually :)

Not the best thing to have on hot day either... but at least it's over with for now :-)... I am sure I will be thinking of chicken fillets when I have my next one lol.. Keep smiling xx

Lol...we are having chicken fillets for dinner tonight, and my dear hubby will be wondering why I'm chuckling all through the meal! Glad you had that done, Jak. No fun, but I guess it truly beats the alternative! Mine will be due again in the fall. ugh... Your card is PERFECT for your day! What a cute greeting! Hugs...

Such a perfect card for the day and I admit I couldn´t help laughing either, when I read about the chickenfilets ha ha ha. I´ve also had this done every 2 years since I was27, becausre they first found changes in the ovaries and 2 years later they found a lump in my one breast, AND out of 12 siblings to my dad 9 has died very young from cancer of both these types, so I´m in an alertgroup as they call it here. And I´ve had biopsies taken twice, so I admit, I´m glad, they´re doing these cheecks, so it´ll be found in time, IF it one day will devellop into real cancer, then they can hopefully safe my life. I know, it´s scary every time, but like Patti Jo said, the alternative is certainly not an option is it?
I loved your card Jak as I love most of your work, just gorgeous.
