Unhappy Santa - Sassy Cheryls

When the very talented Cheryl Alger (artist of Sassy Cheryls) asked me to do a little project for her I jumped at the chance, I simply love her work, if you havent yet found her get on over there as you are missing out click here to be taken to her store.
I used the Unhappy Santa with gift and coloured it with Copic Markers, I used a deep Purple card and created the scene with white ink and sponging over torn paper then punched out a circle from scrap paper and sponged through the hole to make the moon, I dabbed the Ink Essentials white pen randomly across the sponged scene for snow and added a star with the came pen.
I added lots of crushed glass glitter for the snow topped roof and added the image seperatly with foam pads to make it a 3d effect.

Free Sheets for your Card Making

As some of you will know I have had back problems for a few months now and on Friday it all came to a head and my back took a turn for the worst, so I'm resting it and that means a break from making cards for a while, I was watching Jack and as you do with babies I was carrying him quite a lot and now I am paying the price.
I am finding it impossible to lean over my craft desk or find a comfortable position to sit or even stand so I'm hoping that it will heal at a mega speed so I can get back to some normality.
I do have a card scheduled for Monday which was a promised card and after that we will have to see how things go.
In the mean time I have made a few free sheets for you all so I hope you like them.
Before downloading my images please read the copyright below.

You are free to use my sheets for personal use but please do not share, alter, claim them as your own or sell them, instead link back to my blog for people to download them.
They are copyright protected
.

Just click on the images and this will bring them to full size on your screen then save it to your computer.

The sheet will print to a normal size A4 sheet, once saved to your computer double click on the file then from the top menu on your computer click, file then print this will then print out the image
I've added a couple of example pictures to show you what you could be making with my sheets.

In Memory of my dear Dad

He taught me many life skills but the greatest lesson he gave me was he taught me how to love.
Jack Cummings 4th Ocober 1927 - 29th October 2008
Love you Dad.

He taught me to have a sence of humour and he nearly burst with pride when I did crafting on TV.
Dad, brothers Alan and Russell and little me.

Peony Bloom

This is the Peony 2 Bloom by Just Inklined which is being given free from the Imag-e-nation online shop this week if you sign up to their newsletter you get informed every time a new free image is available.
I printed the image at full size then cut out a square from the printed sheet keeping the head of the bloom in the corner of the square, coloured the image with Promarkers added a pretty ribbon and some pearl pins, stamped a sentiment then added a bit of love to bring it all together.

Attention to Detail...

You can see in this photograph that I printed out the image twice and cut out the first 2 layers of the Peony petals to make the flower pop.

***News Flash***

I give up!

All night I tell you, all night I have been trying to get something right to show you tomorrow.

I started after my tea and I've just got it finished, I'm thinking at the moment I should lay down my craft tools and not pick them back up until after Christmas.

I have been crafting most of the day at work but that is on things that I can't show as yet and yes, I know, I am privileged to have a job that is also my hobby but it also means that it is a 24/7 kind of craft and I feel mentally burnt out.

So if the photography takes as long as the project I have just finished it may well be after Christmas before you see it.

If I'm not back here by morning can someone come and rescue me????

Autumn Leaves

Just a quick card today as I have been working on theme project which has now got me scratching my head on how I'm going to build what I need next.
A simple card using punched out leaves and inked up to add the colour I wanted, I used the sizzix fall embossing folder on the cream card, added a few berries and a pretty ribbon and a bit of love to bring it all together.
You can see from below that the leaves started their life yellow in colour, I used dye inks and blended them onto the leave to get the colour tones I wanted.

Grans little Helper - Jack 24th October

We looked after Jack today while his Mum was at a meeting and he turned into my little helper.
  1. He helped to eat the chocolate cake so that Gran wouldn't get fatter.
  2. He helpedwith his spoon to smoother his dinner all over his face.
  3. He helped make the dinner by playing stack them high with the tea caddy and anything else he could find.
  4. He helped to brush his Grans hair with the sweeping brush.
and this was his last bit of helping...

Pop-Out Card - Challenge 34 - We Love Our Furry Friends

Challenge 34 - We Love Our Furry Friends

I had a bit of fun with this card and made it into a Pop-Out and not a Pop-Up card.
The image is Reindeer Pull by Sassy Cheryl the embossed background is a Cuttlebug Enbossing folder lots of Crushed Glass Glitter and a Stampin Up wheel stamp for the swirls.

Attention to detail...

I wanted to show you the mechanism to the pop out, it is a box but with and extra scored fold at two of the sides so it will work as a concertina, this means that it will still go into an envelope but it will pop out again when removed.

Floral Friend Card

Oh yay! It's Friday and the weekend begins.
I used 2 stamp sets by Papertrey Ink for this card, "Silent Night and Friends Till the End" teamed with Promarker colouring, pearls, ribbon and score lines made using the Scor-Pal and a bit of love to bring it all together. Not a bit of designer paper in sight this time.

Attention to detail...

Adding a few basic score lines onto your card can make it look classic a more expensive card stock, it's amazing what it does.
