A Day Out with Mam

We set out for a little trip to Hieghly Gate Garden Centre, for those that haven't been and live in the North East what are you waiting for? not only does it boast some spectacular plants but it also has a fabulous eating place and a bit of craft, clothing, and lots of unusual kitchen items.
Any way I took my little camera along and found myself quite snap happy. Below is some of the shots I took, really pleased with the way these turned out and although my camera isn't a SLR (something I must save for) I think it performs fabulously.
All of the images can be clicked on for an enlarged view.

Just look at the colours in centre of this flower.
The full bloom.

Blooming Beautiful.

Tropical Colours.

A bit of sunshine in a pot.

Simply gorgeous.

They were selling this one with a free bumble bee.

Oh so fluffy.

I do hope that I'm not boring you all with these, something I am often asked is where I get inspiration from, well, nature is one of the biggest things that I call upon when I'm needing some.

Does this hairy creature belong to anyone?

A piece of elegance.

Isn't the colour of this one just Divine?

I just thought that these buds were so pretty

Although I'm not green fingered somehow I do really well with Orchids, my own at home are in their second year of flowering and are laden with blossoms.

Now that's what I call a throat

Breathtakingly beautiful blooms! Funny you'd mention the orchids, but my 1 orchid plant is just over 3 years old & has a bud. I teased my husband it's because we're keeping our house so warm this summer, the orchid thinks it's a "hot house" so decided to bloom!!! ;-)

Beautiful Jak! I'm contemplating an SLR as well but they're so blooming big! My little point and shoot is pretty good, though not quite as good as yours but it's more the 'eye' I think and ... that's what you have. An eye for the composition ....
