Midas Touch

I found some new pretties to play with today and it seams they have given me the Midas Touch, not really but I was playing around in my graphic program and loved this look.

midas touch

I found my pretties in a little haberdashery stall but I better let you see the real colours.

midas real

We made a New Years resolution to get our meat from our local butchers rather than the supermarket mostly because we think the local shops need supporting but more so because of the taste, last week however we ended up buying from the supermarket as if you remember Chris had took me out to get me some fresh air after being unwell, well it made us realise that the quality from the local butcher just knocked spots off the supermarket stuff.

So today we called into the butchers and I got my eye on some Oxtail, when I was at home oxtail was one of my Dads favourite dinners, the juices would drip off his chin, I have bought some and I will wear a bib when eating it.

I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday and where ever you are you are warm and cosy, we are going for a pizza tonight and then sitting down to the TV as Mrs browns Boys is on tonight and it is the last one in the series, if you haven't yet seen it and you could do with a good old belly laugh it can still be found at BBC iPlayer here

Frog Friend–Whimsy Stamps

I just could resist this little digital stamp by Whimsy Stamps, he is such a love, he is looking as if he is trying to figure it out, I know we often watch our Jack and wonder what is going through his mind.

Whimsy_Frog Friend_jak_heath1

Coloured with Copic Sketch Markers and teamed with background papers from my stash I used some lint, buttons and a heart paperclip with some gingham ribbon knotted around it and spellbinders nestabilities to cut out and frame the image.

Flamin Go

Apparently when flamingo’s start their courtship the male of the species has to win it’s mate by performing a dance and when she is suitable impressed she gives in to his charming light-footedness and they become mates for life, this then excites others around them so much so that they copy his dance to celebrate. amazing huh!

Meet Ollie and Olga by Karen’s Doodles I could have gone two ways with this stamp Ostrich or flamingo but when i checked out their courtship habits I knew which i had to do.

OllieAndOlga1_jakheath

It’s kind of funny because in my own courtship Chris was known for trying to impress me at the disco with a kind of turkey strut Oooo the memories.

I think you’ll agree that this couple seem very tied up in each other.

A surprising Tonic

Where to start? These little beauties fell through my door while I was at work today, well actually the came in a dirty great box and my neighbour took them in for me. Decisions, decisions.
I also want to give a shout out to Ursula for a beautiful letter and some crochet flowers which she sent to me.

Victorian Mystique

I got the pleasure to work with some new stamps from Wonderland Stamps I just love the steampunk style, there is an air of attitude to them yet an elegance that the Victorians did so very well.

This one is image Wonderland No19 from Wonderland Stamps
