Fathers Card

A Birthday card for my Father in law, I have really struggled with Fathers Day coming up this being the first since I lost my dear Dad so I actually bought my Father in Law a card for that, however, it is also his Birthday on Friday so I made him this card and left off the Father wording and that seemed to make it easier for me.
The card was inspired by a photo I took whilst in Appleby Magna (Staffordshire) I love these colours as they are so warming.
The tree stamp is a Graphicus Stamp inked with Close to Cocoa ink then touched with the Inkssentials gel pen to add the highlights, I sponged the edges of the card with the same coloured ink to add depth to the card.

Ohhhh I love this Button, not cheap to buy but hey isn't it gorgeous.

The card was made so I thought I'd carry on the theme to a bag to house some toffees.
The template for the Bag can be bought at The Digichick

What a great card and love the bag design. I know what you mean about finding it hard to make Fathers day cards. I couldn't bring myself to make any for a few years after my dad died but now it is easier and I make them for my daughter to give to her dad although you can never forget and nor would you want to!

Absolutely beautiful Jak! The colors are amazing! I know what you mean about finding Father's Day hard after losing your father. My dad will be gone 3 years this Sept. and everytime I see Father's Day cards my heart aches. It does take a while to heal for sure, but you will.

Jak, the card and bag are fabulous. I am sure your father-in-law will be chuffed to bits when he receives them.

Stunning card Jak, love the colours, beautiful button.
My Dad died in 1972, he was only 47, so I know how hard it is,it does get easier as time passes, although you never forget.
Thinking of you and your family

What a beautiful card Jak and the button is WOW. I know it's a cliche but things do get easier with time and nobody can ever take all the wonderful memories away. xx
