Toastie Crochet Slippers

I said I would show you as soon as I got them finished and here they are, I made them over two nights.

My Mam spends most of her time on her bed as this is where she is most comfortable, on Christmas Day she mentioned that she could do with some bed slippers to keep her toes toastie and I figured that I should do something about it.

I hope she'll like them.

Lamb Chops

So here we are nearing the end of 2014. I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas, we have had a family filled one and that is something to cherish.

I learned myself a new craft this last year which is crochet, I absolutely love it, I sit watching TV with Chris and crochet, in the winter months making a crochet blanket keeps your knees warm too.

I have just finished this little darling made with Alpaca wool and last night I started a pair of crochet slippers for my Mam, she had said that she wanted some for while she was sat on the bed to keep her toes cozy, so I'll let you see them as soon as I get them finished.

Cute huh?

And a close up of him sitting on my lap

So a big thank you for all of your support this year. I have had many changes the biggest being my career.

Thank you so much for sticking with me and the wonderful comments you have left, I appreciate it so so much.

Christmas Wrapped Up

Well nearly anyway, I’ve just about finished, 2 more things to wrap and my job here will be done, This year I decided I would use lots of brown paper, I used a high quality roll 50 metres of the stuff and then some contrasting wrapping papers, red bows kraft gift tags and I am awaiting 2 x 25metre rolls of ribbon to arrive to tie packages together, if it doesn’t get here they will just have to wobble.

How are you all getting on?

Dobbin the Crochet Donkey

My latest crochet animal is here, Dobbin the Donkey and this little Character will be going to the receptionist at Create and Craft, Marie has been looking after me for several years and is always interested in what I am up to, she admired both the Lion and the Bunny that I made and wanted both of them so I know he will be going to a good home.

Many of you have asked where I am getting the patterns from, it is a book called Edwards Managerie.

A Couture Christmas

This is the card where I mixed and matched the Couture Die collections to make a Christmas Card, I really love how this turned out, using the Trim set from Enchanted Escapes and the Deco Boutique collection Templates and Corner sets.

Couture Christmas1

Using the Buttermilk Basal card stock and the Satin board, some stickles glitter glue, gold thread, distress inkpad and a bit of love.

Couture Christmas2

A pretty mock silk ribbon and a pretty scrollwork pearl.

Couture Christmas3

and a recycled Christmas card from last year.

Meet Parsley the Crochet Lion

A new crochet friend completed, this is Parsley made for my eldest daughter Lauren.

Both of my girls fell in love with these crochet animals and as Natalie took the bunny Maisy then it is only right that Lauren got her choice of animals so I set to work making the lion for her.

This is how I fill in my nights at the hotel while I'm away from home.

Daylight lamps Come to Create and Craft TV

I think most crafters understand the importance of good lighting, many of us sitting up doing some sort of craft till the early hours of the morning, I personally put it down to an overactive mind ha ha!

So I find that when my eyes are tired I need better lighting and I'm sure that most of you are the same, years of close up craft means I need all the help that I can get. I also find that home lighting and lamps cast shadows and are more of a warm lighting so colour matching can be an issue too.

I have been using Daylight lamps now for a good few years and in fact I have one in most rooms of my house. I love the white light. Chris often states that we are the brightest house in the street when I craft. I did a comparison a little while ago with my own lighting to show the difference and I have added it below to show you just how wonderful these are.

Join myself and the lovely Leonie on Create and Craft TV Friday 28th November at 4pm for some amazing lamps with amazing prices.

Below is a couple of photos took through the magnifier the first is without the lens and the second is with the lens

As you can see there is quite a difference and I love the fact that I can just push the lens to one side when I don’t need it.

The next couple of picture will show you an amazing difference, I took the first picture without using the Daylight lamp and the second picture with.

Without the lamp

With the Lamp

You can see it is a much clearer picture and truer colours by using the lamp

For me it is a must have, I do have a light box for my cards but to be totally honest it isn’t a patch on my lamps.

Time to Play Home Decor

I made some wall art earlier in the year and I have had this project on hold waiting to find the time to do it.

So let the play begin.

It started with Chris sticking floor boards together for me after deciding what shape I wanted and then me painting it to match my previous wall art, I love this old peeled paint look.

Can you guess what it is yet?

Let's start adding the vinyl.

Need to add lots more.

Now this is a work in progress and I'll add the finished project in due TIME.....

Crochet Bunny

Meet Maisy, my crochet bunny made with Alpaca wool, she was a he but I felt like something was missing so I added a little bow as a finishing touch and so Maisy was born.

This is what I have been doing while I am at Create and Craft TV in between my shows. I also have a blanket on the go at home but this was the perfect size for traveling.

Brigade Cards

As a rule of thumb I don’t take card orders, I am always too busy to do them and stress myself out over them yet as soon as a request came from one of Chris’s past work mates from the Brigade came in I said yes.

So I hope he will like them, I had made this card as a thank you card for Chris when he left the Brigade and it is still pinned up on the notice board hence the request.

All four finished boxed and wrapped with tissue to make it pretty.
