I’m Back

We are back, we had a little delay due to hurricane Sandy and having said that I am praying that my US friends are safe and well. Our last week had a big weather change due to this and we were told that it was A Perfect Storm scenario that was happening so fingers crossed that this hasn’t affected any of you.

I won’t bore you with all my holiday snaps but I did take some panoramic photos of where we were staying.

The first two are from our balcony

The one below made me giggle as Chris decided to run around the back of me so he could be in the picture twice, he’s such fun to be with.

My First Margarita

As most of you know, I'm not a drinker, however if I was I think this would be my tipple. My American friends drove me crazy taking about them an me not knowing how they tasted I made it my mission to try one this holiday.

So lemon was my flavour and boy was it good, I loved the salt around the rim of the glass too. If you haven't yet tried one, give it a whirl.

Brazilian Night

I really didn't know what to expect, I don't think I've every had a Brazilian meal, at least not knowingly.

We were booked in at 6:30 and thankfully the room had air conditioning and believe me when I say it was so, so needed.

We were greeted at the door by Leona, our favourite waitress.

Such a lovely girl, we had our starter, lots of tasters, one was a prawn salad which was finger licking good.

The main course was meat skewers, jacket potato, corn on the cob and a tomato based side salad and a gorgeous spicy dressing, they just kept coming around with the meat skewers, pork, chicken, beef, sirloin lamb and prawns, totally delicious.

So onto the sweet, I thought it best that I gave you a visual for this.

The evening was a wonderful success so much so I had to try the hat for myself.

Love you Daddy

I thought this was quite apt as it will be my own Dads memorial on 29th and I miss him so very much.

Love you Daddy is by Mo’s Digital Pencil and every time I look at it I’m reminded of how special Dads are.

Puerto Plata Splatter

To we have had big storms, so much so that I have come to the conclusion that the Puerto Plata Splatter is the storms they have and not the dicky tummy runs.
Believe me though that the rain storms are a relief when they do come as the heat here is really something else. Even when is does rain it is still beautiful, normally out of our patio you can see the the horizon between the sea and the sky but not today.

And yet I still managed to get sunburnt shoulders while shooting archery, oh yes and I won.
I was telling Lauren (daughter) that she would love it here, the children's club is brilliant, we were watching them having fun today.
This is also just out of our patio.
