Saturday Treat

I have been ever so good lately, I can't remember the last time I had chocolate or sweets, I decided to choose my food wisely, making the right choices, I'm not calling it a diet because I panic at the word itself, I've not weighed myself because if when I check my weight I've lost I think that deserves a treat and if I gain I do the same for comfort.

Saturday is however treat day, not chocolate bars or sweets but a mahousive steak, medium rare with potatoe wedges and stuffed mushroom. Absolute bliss.

Sunshine After the Newcastle Floods

Well it was sunshine best part of today but you can bet your bottom dollar there would will be a massive clean up in progress, I think it’s all the rain that must have inspired me to get this made.

Floods in the Northeast (Newcastle)

Jeepers we had some weather going on in Tyne and Wear, late afternoon the sky turned black at work, we all even went outside to look at the sky, it was weird, so heavy.

These are some of the latest pictures from our area.

Behind Closed Doors–The Bar

Another Behind Closed Doors by La Pashe  to wet your decoupage appetite

This one is the bar scene

behind Closed Doors bar

All I did for the background is used an 8 x 8 card and draw some bricks in a black fineliner.

The holly is from some Christmas twine that I bought at Asda last year and the bell is from a loca haberdashery

Girl with Sign - Make your own sentiment

This is a great way to add the sentiment of your choice, it doesn’t even have to be posh writing, in scrapbooking I was always in the frame of thinking that if you hand wrote your journaling someone is more likely to read it, I think that would work here too.
I love pink and green together it make such a sweet card.
My headache is subsiding into a dull ache after numerous steaming. Thank Goodness.
Hair is cut neat and tidy again another thank goodness.
My hospital appointment today was with the skin specialist for my psoriasis, I used to go to these appointment in absolute bits, worrying what treatment I would get next, not really liking the specialist that I was under, I used to get very weepy feeling that he didn’t listen or have a clue to my feelings.
However this year I was given a new doctor after a change around in the department, I can say with hand on heart he is the best in the country, no more worries before I see him, he listens and he explains and he chats to me as a person not a number, he asks my what I want and gives me options in treatment, he is one in a million so no more re shuffles please. The new nurse is lovely too, mind you the original nurses especially the sister were lovely, very kind.

Not Quite Steampunk

You know how it is, tablet after tablet, wanting to rip out an eye with the pain, staring at a computer all day as part of your job when all you want to do it lie in a dark room and sleep it off.
My headache started Saturday and know matter what I couldn't shake it off, Monday Morning came and I had a blind spot in my right eye, I got through a whole packet of Neurofen trying to shake off the pain, taking off my glasses and adding pressure to where it hurt most.
Rushing home knowing I was headed straight to bed, Chris made me dinner and I got back up, more tablets needed, and then I reached for my trusty friend.
A bit of steampunk and some menthol crystals then back to bed.
So this morning it is back to a dull ache, thankfully no work today, hairdressers at 1:30pm and hospital to see specialist after that.
I think another head steaming before I go.

Afternoon Stroll

You know how we all often say “If I won the lottery” well I have a genuine need of it, I  have had a dream for such a long long time of building my own home somewhere close to my heart.

My happiest childhood memories were spent in a colliery house just off the coal pit grounds, there were only 2 streets with 14 houses in each street, it was like a family, everyone looked out for each other.

The near by village children all used to head over to our street to play, we had so much to do, we had a hotspot which was where the pipes for the pit showers for the miners ran under the ground and it would warm up  the pavement so even when it was raining that hotspot ground would be dry, we all used to meet there especially on freezing cold days, we would sit on the ground and warm our bums it often got so hot we would take off our coats and sit on them to stop our bums from burning.

We had the pit pond, an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool run by the miners we learnt how to swim on a belt with a rope attached to the back, and once we had mastered the belt we would progress to the corner, this was a part of the pool were a guide would walk along the edge with a wooden pole while you were swimming across, when you got tired you grabbed onto the pole, so you see we had all the mod cons.

We had fields to play in, a park just at the top of the street, and a coast were the coal would be washed and sorted.

So back to my building a home, it is in a spot were I can see everything that I used to see out of my bedroom window.

This is where I would want it built. Just on the top bank near the three trees “sigh”

I want you to see the view that I once had and the view that I would like to have again some day.

Just look at it that bit of coast was my play ground

Oh how I dream

On the other side is something I dearly love, our Lighthouse, I used to watching it blinking it’s green light in the dark from my bedroom window, I used to pray it would guide my brother home ( he was lost at sea while serving in the Merchant navy)

Window view3

So I have rambled on and on and I hope you’ll forgive me but I wanted to give you an insight into my dream.

Finally the light was fading and the rain started again so it was time to leave.

Double Take–Saturated Canary

I’ve had a little break yesterday, I had a few things that needed my attention one of them being a card that I can’t show until August but I needed to make sure it was right before production started, so yes I was being crafty but just couldn’t show you.

However I did manage to get a card made today and though I say it myself it’s one that I am really pleased with.

The image is Double Take by Saturated Canary and isn’t she elegant?

I’d love a dress like that, mind you who am I kidding, I’d love a figure like that more ha ha!
