In Memory of a Beautiful Friend

It is with deep regret that that a have to tell you that my beautiful friend Katie Renz passed away yesterday morning, Katie has left behind a very devoted Husband Kevin and 3 wonderful sons Hunter, Will and Nate.

Katie was such a beautiful lady and so very loved by all that knew her.

I know that many of you gave so generously to the fundraising and went on to follow Katie's battle with gastric cancer, Thank you dear friends.

When Katie first told me of her illness I sent her a guardian angel necklace to watch over her and she sent me this photo of her.

I wanted to do scrapbook page to keep in her memory…. love you Katie.

Just Inklined to Hop–Something to give for Christmas

The Blog hop this Month for Just Inklined is sure to get the inspiration flowing for Christmas ideas, this Months theme is Make something to give at Christmas and our host is Heidy and that is where our Blog hop Starts.

You should have landed here with me from the all inspiring Jeni’s blog so be sure to go to each blog and leave a comment as there will be a couple of spot prizes for comment left.

I wouldn’t deny I found this a struggle having lost my MoJo but I’m thrilled how it turned out.

I used Father Christmas from Just Inklined for my project of a tea light holder (battery operated) and here it is all aglow, I used the Tonic Studios gear levered star punch.

Father Christmas2

I printed out the digi stamp onto a heavy white vellum paper and added one of my snowflake papers as the background then coloured his with Promarkers.

Father Christmas3

I added stickle glitter glue onto his hat and around the cut out stars on the vellum to let extra light shine through.

Father Christmas1

Next up is the uber talented Tammy and I know she will have something special to show you all.

Don’t forget to leave a comment at all of the blog you visit on the hop for a chance of winning a spot prize.

Treasuring the Moments

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking this week, having a dear friend suffering with cancer makes you look at things around you in a totally different light, appreciative of moments shared and looking over those special photographs that captures love, fun and beauty in what can seemly be an ugly world.

I have lost much of my MoJo at the moment but I know it will come back, I do have a special Blog Hop tomorrow and I have something wonderful to show you all but my I struggled to get it done.

So I have surrounded myself in family photo’s and continuing to be bowled over with the layouts and creative ways to use them in digital scrapbooking using the My Memories Suite here is 3 I have made whilst browsing my treasured family photos.

The first is on my daughter Lauren's Wedding Day, standing at the church entrance awaiting her arrival, holding Grandson Jack who totally melts my heart.

Three little words that can make such a difference in our lives when said sincerely. Go on tell your dear ones I Love You.

Tuscan Colours

Where I am from and who I’ve become has a big place in my life, I love old photography and I even collect old postcards, there’s just something homely and comforting about it all.

So I think by now you will have figured how much I love, love, love the My Memories Suite and playing with all the possible layouts, papers and embellishments to see what I can come up with next.

I started using the photo masks and had a little play with them.

The first is of my Mam and her trusty Dalmatian pet.

the second is my Dads sister, Aunt Alice.

I kept the style of Tuscan colours in tune with my Mams page. As I think they would be perfect for a double page layout.
