Just Inklined to Hop–Die cuts and Pearls

Here we go again with our Monthly Blog Hop.

Gaynor is host this month and Die cuts and Pearls is the theme and that is where you should have started.

Chrysanth4

You should have landed on my blog from Tangii if not got to the very beginning as I know the girls have all worked hard to bring you something special.

I have used the  Chrysanthemum set from Just Inklined for my image and used the main bloom.

Chrysanth1

Coloured with Copic and chalk pencils and blended with paper stumps.

Chrysanth2

Actually I did cheat, I used the Silhouette Portrait instead of dies but I won’t tell if you don't.

Chrysanth3

I finished my card with a pretty pearls from Mei Flower

Now hop over to Lori as I know she has something special ready to show you and remember to leave comments on all of the blogs as we always have spot prizes from the comments left.

Pushed to the limit.

Wednesday evening, I got home from work to a phone call from Chris, “get your cycling gear on we are going out” I have missed going out due to our typically British weather and because of shows that i had to attend so I knew I had to go.

We set out and it was freezing along the sea front, I thought my fingers were going to drop off, we soon turned off the front and made for the slow climb through an estate which left me gasping when I did it last, I made it to the top and rather than going through another smaller climb I suggested we road on as it was flat, this gave me enough puff to do the next bit.

I made it to the railway crossing with ease and then started the journey back, Chris let me take charge of where I rode, I carried on along a busy road, and up to the park further than I thought I would get and then through an industrial estate and started the journey back home, I got to the top of my street and decided to keep going a little further as I felt fine.

The only thing that was a little tender was my butt, it was starting to get dusk so I even got t use my bike lights, another first for me.

So I smashed my 5 mile total.

6.57miles

So the push to get out did me good.

here is the summery of my ride

and the route

now all of this was well and good but not long after dinner the two of us started to drop off to sleep, we were in bed by 9pm and the next day I was poorly, a bug that had been hanging around me for a week or two.

I’m hoping by Saturday morning I’m able to get back out.

A Guiding Light

Another project from Creations by AR which would be perfect for the men in your life, young or old.

Lighthouse

Lighthouse1

Whether it is because I live near to the sea and when growing up I used to look at the lighthouse from my bedroom window and watch it’s guiding light flicker on and off, I somehow find the image of a lighthouse calming, I also lost a dear Brother to the sea so something draws me to it and I love to be beside it.

The fun thing about this Lighthouse is that the top section come off so you could hide some goodies inside it. It also holds one of those battery operated tea lights.

Tutu Bear–Mo Manning

It’s not often that I make teddy bear cards in fact I can’t remember the last time I made one but this little lady was screaming to be coloured.

She comes from the Tiny Dancer Elements set from Mo’s Digital Pencil

tutu teddy1

I kept the card simple with and embossed white card, it was one of the spellbinders embossing folders one of the A4 sized ones. I used an EK success corner punch on it and then cut out the image with a lacey oval from Spellbinders.

I finished the card with a dotted Papertrey ink ribbon and some gems from Mei Flower

Dads old log book

My Mam has been having a clear out, actually it is an on going clear out, during which she is coming across things that she didn’t know that Dad had or even kept.

Dad was a Blacksmith and worked at Dawdon Colliery he worked 7 days a week and in his spare time he has an allotment (spare time indeed) My Dad is on the right of this photograph.

dad2-004

So Mam happened upon a log book from when Dad started to look after the cages that took the men down the coal mine. She remembers that Dad didn’t sleep for a week when he first took charge of it.

NCB Book001

It dates back to 1967, I’d of been 2 years old then, isn’t that a brilliant find. he lists things that don’t mean much to me but I'm sure the miners from Dawdon would understand it.

Something that struck me about it was how neat his hand writing was and also that my handwriting is very similar to it.

NCB Book002

It this inspection he states that the bottom door is cracked and that in his opinion it needs replacing.

NCB Book003

I know that many of you were following me when we lost my Dad so I thought it would be nice to share this with you all.

It’s all Rock and Roll

I think this one is going to tick all of the boxes for teenager cards, it is the theme that we have the most problems with, my daughter is in her early twenty’s and loves to sing and has the most amazing voice and would love this too.

Jamming Tracy by Mo’s Digital Pencil.

Jamming Tracy1

I used copic markers to colour this image and the Cameo Silhouette to cut out the background music mat.

A bit of lace, a bit of twine and a big button to finish.

Black gems in the corner are from Mei Flower
