Welcome Saturday

What a day Friday was, firstly it would have been my Brother Russell’s birthday, he was lost at sea while serving in the Merchant Navy at the age of 17, just a lad in his prime with the world at his feet.

Then my morning started with a trip to hospital for my bloods to be done followed late morning by a trip to the Dentist to have 2 wisdom teeth removed, now I am a bit of a wus when it comes to dentists due to a drill happy one in my youth, but they had to come out so out they are and pretty painful at that, it made me realise the pain that Natalie must have been in earlier in the month.

The tea time came a call from the hospital to say they were concerned about my blood count and to stop the meds that keep my pains at bay and I need to go in again next week.

So I’m pleased to see Saturday morning, I still have considerable pain but I suspect that each day will get better.

I thought I would share this scrapbook page with you, the picture is one from my wedding day and this is Chris’s favourite picture, it always make me giggle and think start as you mean to go on ha,ha…

It’s quite ironic because we rarely have cross words, we tend to listen to each other and talk about things before the heat sets in, something that has worked for us as last year we celebrated out 25th Anniversary.

Dream–Victoria Case

Every now and again something special comes along which was what happened when I made a purchase from Victoria Case, we became facebook friends and I was given a free image to work with along side her other facebook friends. So here she is, the Facebook Fairy.

Coloured with Copic markers and prisma pencils then smooched the background with a gold rub and teamed it with gold and iridescent papers from my stash, lace, ribbon and pearl pin and a whimsy ticket. the Flourish is a die from Memory Box.

Project of the Month Blog Hop - All You Need is Love

jak it's been a long time since I heard that, the worst one for me was when our youngest grandaughter was born on christmas day then for days he insisted on playing Grandad his reason being she was not born when we got together where as the other 2 grandchildren were born & he was 36 as he is younger than me

Mariko is Mad

This little one reminds me of myself when I was young, I was quite a handful and my Mam and Dad would often say they didn’t know how I survived to be an adult, apparently if it wasn’t for family and friends I would have ended up in the raggy home eek!.

I used some broderie anglais and then some of the gorgeous ruffle ribbon by Ribbon Carousel  on top of it the border work was done using an around the page punch by Martha Stewart some puffy letters (Thickers Glass Slipper) and a few blossoms and pearls and the designer paper is from Stampin Up.

Husbands eh! and Blog Candy

I was just chatting with one of my crafty friends about husbands taste in music when driving in the car and then I remembers the little gem that I got in the car to one morning.

I have been known to slide down my seat in the car in the hope that know one notices me when Chris is driving and puts on his own music but this one beat them all.

Picture the scene, dashing out early morning so that I won’t be late for work I jump in the car and turn on the ignition and wham the music is full blast, Chris had had the car the previous night and this is the little gem he left for me to listen to.

Sunday Serenity

Fast Freddie

I was itching to get some new images released for Just Inklined and I thought I would start with my favourite first, I just know you’ll be bowled over with him.

Saturated Canary–Janessa

I had loads of fun with this card, the image is Janessa by Saturated Canary Digis  I used Copic sketch Markers to colour the digi stamp and the background designer papers are a mixture of Raspberry Road Designs digital papers and My Memories Suite Girlfriend papers I designed the layout of the card in My Memories Suite software by making an 8 x 8 scrapbook layout, once I had everything looking how I wanted it I saved the individual papers then printed them out.

I embellished the card with a satin ribbon bow a Spellbinders Sprocket die cut, twine gems and a button.

Viva Decor Craco Crackle Colour

 

Its ages since I got my fingers dirty and I love playing with different mediums and decided to give the Viva Decor range a whirl, I used the Craco Crackle Colour paint and the Precious Metals Paint and made a crackled book my supplies were bought from Creativity Direct

As it was difficult to photograph I took three pictures for you.

You can see how well the Craco Crackle colour works, it did state to leave it 24 hrs but I managed to speed up the process to 20 minutes just by using a heat gun.

It is easy to apply as you can use a paintbrush and add a fairy thick layer or use a pallet knife to spread it.

I only added the Craco Crackle to the outer casing and spine of the book once I new it was cracked and dried I sponged over some of the precious metal paint and painted the inside of the book with it too, i finished the book by attaching a ribbon around the book and tying a bow and added some memory embellishments to the front.

I used the smaller of the two books to decorate

Ice Ice baby

I know the present giving season has gone but heck the icy mornings haven't so this baby is very fitting.

Winter Fairy Talva by Mo’s Digital Pencil 

I used a couple of the Memory Box dies the snowflake flourish and the big snowflake, the sizzix snowflake embossing folder and a Spellbinders Label die which I painted with the Viva Decor Croco Crackle colour and then used the precious metal paint of the top from Creativity Direct and yes I squealed when it cracked ha ha! I used copic markers to colour the image. I finished off with stickles glitter glue and a pretty ribbon from Ribbon Carousel 

My Nana

Morning , this is my first day back at work (frown) I just know there’s going to be far too much to catch up with but hey ho I’ll give it my best shot.

I didn’t get a card made last night but I did some colouring in between the nose dripping lol!

However I did manage a couple of layouts as I could keep my head upright so less nose drips to contend with. I know it’s gross but what could I do?

The subject was easy, My Nana, such a special lady.

This one is myself the baby and my cousin Susan both sitting on our nan’s lap.

Family Matters

Good morning, hope you are enjoying the weekend, today is my last day off work after a long Christmas break, my last few days has been spent nursing a head cold, but no worse than others have had it so I will survive.

Today my lovely husband is busying around the front room, it’s been tidied and he is now about to vacuum and dust, love that man!

We are having the family for Sundays dinner, no we aren’t eating them but they are coming over for their fix of Yorkshire puddings and Sundays dinner, all except Natalie who is spending the day with her friend, she is much much better now and will also be returning to work tomorrow.

I was looking over past photographs last night, our Granson Jack is now quite the chatty chap with the why? and What? questions that seem to flow in abundance he has grown so fast. I even had to buy a booster seat for our dining room chairs rather than his high chair for this Sunday dinnertime.

Love

My card today is made using Ragged Romeo by Mo’s Digital Pencil such a super cute little couple this, right down to there little boots.

Do you remember your first love, you know the one that broke your heart as a youngster and you thought it was the end of the world?

I know the word is quite often used as a day to day word as in “I love that” “isn’t that lovely” but to actually be in love is the best thing in the world.

Now this image just sings out the word love don’t you think?
