Cheers - Flippin' Men Stamps by La Pashe

Another one of the new Flippin' Men Stamp sets by La Pashe, I love the many colouring techniques that can be used with stamps to personalise the images to your own taste.
Base card was scored using the ScorPal then a gold ribbon tied around the card into a bow.
The image was stamped in versafine then coloured with watercolour paint, the Cheers! was stamped then mounted onto black card stock as was the image then layered onto the card using foam pads.

I used the border stamp (pint glasses) and the Quote stamp on the insert of the card.

Distressed Blossom

Getting a bit inky, I love doing that, I had to set to as soon as I got home from Create and Craft, it seems that both myself and Leonie Pujol enjoy nothing better than getting our fingers inky.
I used the Friends till the End stamp set by Papertrey Ink and using the blossom I stamped creamy caramel ink all over the Kraft base card then distressed the edges of the card in the same ink.
I stamped the main focal blossom onto kraft card with Momento ink and used Copics to colour the image, then I added glossy accents to the centre and added little gems and glass glitter to make it pop. I cut this out when dry and tied a ribbon around the card in a bow and added the blossom on top with foam pads.
The sentiment was stamped and cut out with the Stampin up word slot punch.

Slimming Update

Weigh in night last night and I'm the proud owner of....

Drum Roll please

3Lb weight loss this week
My next 2 weeks are going to be really tough, I have 6 nights away from home with hotel eating, Create and Craft and a trade show, so my next weigh in at Slimming World will be 25th February and I'll eat my hat if I don't gain those 3 Lbs back.
Why is it that some hotels don't give a healthy option meal (sigh)?
Let me know how you have done this week.

Splish Splash

I love this part of babysitting Jack, he loves bathtime, splishing and splashing and both Chris and I normally end up soaked.
Here he is with that tongue sticking out again.
Wash, play then snuggles.

Once he stopped trying to lick up all of the water he really enjoyed playing with his new bath toys.

There's Nothing Better Than A True Friend

A simple yet striking card made with In Bloom stamp set by Papertrey Ink and coloured with Promarkers.
I used a corner rounder and and EK Success slimline border punch on the cream card.

Attention to detail...

As you can see I stamped the 3 blooms and coloured all of them with Promarkers Pastel Green and Soft Green then layered them up using sticky pads.

It adds dimension to the card and makes it pop.

Look No Hands

Jack is growing so fast, he's not happy sitting on knees now he needs to stand so to keep him happy a new toy had to be purchased and here he is.

On first glance you may think that Jack has had spaghetti for dinner but as he is teething he is contantly dribbling and sticking out his tongue so he has his mouth and cheeks chapped from the cold weather.

Pine at Night

Recipe:

Stamps- Stampin Up Lovely as a Tree, Wheel stamp Forever Flowers

Card - Navy 14.5 x 14.5cm finished base card, white 14 x 14cm

Ribbon - Navy Satin

Ink - Stampin Up Night of Navy

I inked the pine tree once and stamped it 3 times, this gives a distance appearance as if 2 of the trees are behind the brightest tree and makes it pop.

The moon was a circle punches from paper then laid over the white card and sponged over the top, then remove the white card circle to reveal a moon, I used the sponge technique around the top edge of the card too.

I inked the stamp wheel and run it across the base of the white card then with a damp paint brush shaded the flowers and leaves by catching the ink that had been stamped with the brush.

The ribbon tied into a bow around the card was the finishing touch.

Just below my Character at the top of the page click on Jak Heath Designs

If that isn't enough to get your mojo going there is some exciting news on the Mo Manning Dream Team Blog

here is a clue

Slimming Update

As promised I'm signing in to give you an update of my weight loss but before I do I thought I would share a few of my observations on the subject.

I went along to class and watched some of the habits us slimmers have.
1. Make sure we eat nothing just before the weigh in.
2.Go for a pee before leaving the house.
3. On arriving at the venue - Go for a pee.
4. After signing in, meeting and greeting, go for a pee.
5. Stand in the queue to get weight, when the queue is down to 2 people before your turn, go for a pee.
6. Take off cardigans, sweaters. jewelry (gold weighs heavy) empty pockets, take off shoes also socks if you've washed your feet.
7. get on scales, if you weigh too much try standing on one leg.
8. exhale.
Now those of you that have never been to a slimming class may think that I am joking but believe me all of this happens.

OK now for my Weight.
1.5 Pounds Loss this week.
My favourite find of the week is a mugshot cous cous chicken and mushroom If you are with Slimming World this is a free food on the extra easy plan.

Something to try next week

The Best Tomato Soup Ever
2tins of tomatoes (400g)
1 tin carrots ( drained )
1 tin baked beans
1 chicken oxo or bovril
1/2 pint water
and the magic ingredient 1 PICKLED ONION put in a pan and blend and heat.
they say that this is as good as the company that makes the 57 varieties and it is free on Slimming Worlds extra easy plan
Now it's your turn to leave a comment and let me know how you are doing.

Garden of Bee Balm

I used one of my favourite stamp sets Garden of Bee Balm by Rubber Stamp Tapestry to make this card along with some pretty inks and a couple of embellishments.

A label die cut (nestabilities) and a larger label die used with a tan mat to emboss the green card, Garden of Bee Balm Tapestry Stamps to stamp onto the cream card in a wreath shape then a blossom with a pearl to make the card pop.

The green card was stamped with the sprig out of the stamp set to make a pretty setting

Little pearls all in a row a few score lines a ribbon and a golden key tied with linen twine.

Going Dotty

New Free download sheets on my Jak Heath Designs Page

I just know you'll be as dotty as I am about them.

Makin Cards

I used the Mo Manning Digital Stamp Makin Cards and coloured it with promakers I cut the top edge of the image with the Nestabilities Long Scalloped rectangles. the dotted paper was edged using a Martha Stewart border punch.

I added a Prima blossom and used a copic marker to accented it to match the card colours.

I used the Sizzlet Calender month dies for the wording and as it also has hearts on it I also used these with a little glass glitter to make them pop.

Damask - Spanish Olive

A bit of Spaish olive and cream make a wonderful colour combo so I dug out the nestabilities Label dies, Damask stamp(PTI), Bellas roller stamp(SU)and a Cuttlebug embossing borderand set to work.

Attention to detail...

I used a sheer olive ribbon this time and tied it in a know at the side of the image, as the card has lots going on I found the sheer ribbon just made it pop, I think a heavier ribbon would have swamped the card.

Where I used the Cuttlebug border to emboss I added stickled diamond to enhance the embossing more.
