Something for the Weekend–Blog Candy

I wanted to spoil all my followers but I just don’t have the pennies to do that so instead I have put together some blog candy from some of my favourite companies. I appreciate each and every one of you that pop by to say hello as well as those that just pop their head in for a peek, you are like my extended family and many of you I feel that I know so well after commenting for so long.

I put together things that would add the little extra to your card making, ribbon flowers, gems, bows & buttons etc.

I think this will keep you going all year, there’s tons.

Blog candy embel march

I added 3 close up shots

Blog candy embel march2

Blog candy embel march3

Blog candy embel march4

As you can see it’s amazing but it’s not enough so………..

I figured you needed something to add all of the embellishment too.

So I will also pop in the CD Rom from La Pashe The big One

Blog candy embel march5

How do you enter? well I’d love everyone to be a follower but I can’t force you to do that as most people only follow while the candy is available, sad but true and to be honest that just annoys me so all I’m asking is that you tell your friends about it, link it to blogs if you have one or post it on facebook if you use that.

Then link your name in the Inlinkz button below, you do not need a URL to do this, just leave it blank if you haven’t got one.

Mothering Sunday Free Background Papers and Verses

Mothering Sunday is nearly upon us and I guess most of us will be looking for that special verse to add to our cards, I can make cards all day but I hate searching for verses, luckily I have a lovely friend that came to me rescue and wrote some poems for Mothers Day. So I thought it would be fitting to share with you all and I also made some pretty papers in 6" x 6" sizes to go with them.

Scout Named Noah

We had a wonderful evening babysitting Jack and we took him over to see my Mam, he was in his Jimjams all ready for bed but he loves to visit her as not only is he the apple of her eye but he is totally intrigued with Jess her cat. We stayed for about an hour as that was as much as jess could put up with him as she is getting no younger and he has her scurrying from one room to another to hide from him.

I hurried back and got this card made, I think I have said before how much this character reminds me of Jack.

Oh Baby!

We have two babies that will arrive into our family in the next couple of weeks so I thought I’d best get cracking with something pretty. One of which will be Kim and David's, I guess most of you remember the tragic loss of their beautiful baby boy Layton and I know many of you gave so generously when I did the fundraising for meningitis in his memory.

I love Mo Manning's baby images, so beautiful and this one is no exception.

Baby Boy b is from Mo’s Digital Pencil babyboy1 b

Coloured with Copic markers and prisma pencils the swirly embossing is a sizzix embossing folder and as this is an 8 inch card I used the Grande Calibur from Spellbinders to do the embossing. I don’t have a raspberry plate so I used the cutting plate and the B plate for the Cuttlebug.

The gorgeous ribbon is from Ribbon Carousel

Spring has Nearly Sprung

I’m not sure if it’s the new specs but everything is looking cleaner and fresh since I got them, so todays choice of image is perfect.

Spring Bringer by Wee Stamps, I just love the faces on these wee darlings.Spring_Bringer1

I kept the colours in line with Spring and added pearls glitter (which isn’t showing, but know her wings are sparkling) and used a ribbon from the march collection of Ribbon Carousel and Grande Calibur Borders and foliage from Spellbinders

Spring_Bringer2

I’m struggling with my blood count uh! I’ve had a terrible sand paper rash for about 4 weeks now, it’s all over my chest forehead behind my ears little bit on my nose and over my back, we think (doctor thinks) it may be to do with my bloods. I had both a letter and a telephone call again from the hospital so I have to go back again and I am starting to resemble a very well used pin cushion.

Test Driving

Just in case you were wondering, I'm having a day off……… I’m test driving some new specs and thought it would be better to test drive them without the close work than strain my eyes straight off.

me

I have some designer specs, this is a first for me, she’s a new gal on the specs block called Karen Millan.

I’ve mastered the focus and reverse, still keep looking in my mirrors until I get used to the drive but on the whole they are feeling good.

Anniversary Filigree

I know, I know, I bought one but I just couldn’t do it, so I set to straight after dinner and got cracking making a card for Chris’s Mam & Dad, I may keep the other for his Dads Birthday or Fathers Day.

A bit of a filigree feel to this one.

Anniversary filigree2

Soft, dreamy and clean, I used a heart corner punch (corner adorner) really old punch, my ScorPal for the embossing, love the ScorPal, Moroccan spellbinders die on the Grande Calibur, Memory Box Heart die, some ribbons and pearl pins.

Anniversary filigree3

I also used my Stampin Up heart punch and a bit of matting and layering.

Eeek! I Bought a Card

Being an avid card maker it is few and far between that I buy a shop card. Most people expect a hand made card and it always feels as if I’m cheating if I do buy one.

Last year while we were in Kendal (my favourite place on earth) I was window shopping, not many places you can do that these days as most of the shops have metal shutters. Anyway I spotted some very, very interesting cards and went back the next day to take a closer look at them.

being from a fishing village ourselves I knew I had to make a purchase and actually, shamefully I bought three cards. They are all swinging cards that pop out 3d but lay flat in an envelope, ingenious the way they have been made.

The fishing Village.

santoro swing card3

I took a couple of photo’s from different angles so you can see how clever it is.

santoro swing card2

This one is destined for my Mother and Father–in-laws Anniversary, they lift in the same village as us so will totally appreciate it.santoro swing card1

The company that make these are called Santoro. Not cheap but very different.

Christmas in March?

I bet you are all panicking now ha ha, but I am working on some Christmas designs here at La Pashe, I can see you are cringing but if us as designers don't start early then you would be in a sorry state of card making when it does come around.

I,m thinking that you are going to love this range, I can't wait until I can show you some sneak peeks.

In Charge of a Crane…

As some of you know my ever suffering husband Chris, started model making for his train layout, well the tables have turned as now he is the one shouting “in a minute” when something needs doing or if dinner is ready and we have to wait until he’s at a part he can leave to one side while he is having dinner or the likes.

Anyway he is busying himself making a Gantry Crane and my word there is some work going into it, I’m thinking I may have to graffiti my name on the side of it as I helped with some of the cutting out on this one.

pop over to his blog and take a look at some of his work, show it to your husbands I’m sure they'll be impressed. Wynyard Lane Models

Noah and Patches–Sassy Cheryls

This little guy reminds me of my gorgeous Grandson Jack, he pulls his face just like this when getting his photo took.

Sassy Cheryl’s have some fabulous digi’s and this one Noah and Patches is just one of many

DIGINOAHANDPATCHESSTAMP1

I know there’s a a saying that Blue and Green should never be seen unless another is in between so I reckon I can get away with this one, Ribbon is from Ribbon Carousel image coloured with Copic Markers and Prisma pencils. In case you are wondering what the sentiment is, I played around with a song from my childhood “Me and my Teddy Bear, have no worries have no cares, me and my Teddy Bea just play and play all day.”
