Come Out and Play

Come out and Play by Mo Manning reminds me so much of myself when I was little, me and my best friend Hazel all but lived in our roller skates we used to make up display routines and dance in them, looking back makes me giggle as we used to live next to a coal mine in fact right in the pit grounds and we would dance for the miners and often got pennies for our skating which went straight into the Pit Canteen for sweets ha ha, how embarrassing now.

You can purchase Come out and Play at Mo’s Digital pencil

A Mothers Love…

We all know that there is just something special about a Mothers love and with Mothers Day approaching for my overseas friends I thought it would be apt to make a Mothers card and also give a Mothers Day Poem or Verse for your cards.

My card is made up with an image from a Day for Daisies and is called Kiss for Sis,coloured with Copic marker and teamed with pretty designer papers ribbons and a charm, the borders was made with the Tonic Studios Border System and the circled are Spellbinders Nestabilities.

A Mothers Day Verse

I said a Mother's Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.

I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.

And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best Mother there could be!

Fancypants

What set out to be a normal Sunday turned out to be a very big challenge, I have had ongoing back problems for over a year now and Friday afternoon was the start of more than usual back pain, constant pain releavers and back rubs, I was hoping that I would awake fit and well Sunday morning but that wasn't to be.

Not only did I awake to worse pain but also my back kept going into spasms I went through the pain barrier in tears and scrambled my way round making a cup of tea. Normally Chris makes me a cuppa every morning whilst I pull myself together but he was on a training course with the Brigade.

By 11:30am I was back in bed, my Daughter got in about 3pm and madeher first Sunday roast all by herself (she did marvelous) Chris got in around 4.30pm and gave me another back rub with some Voltarol which helped.

So it is a miracle that I have a card to show you at all, luckely this is one I coloured on Saturday. I stood to make the card then Chris did the photography for me as he did with the previous 2 cards (thank you Chris x).

Todays image is Fancypants by A Day for Daisies, coloured with Copic Makers and Prisma Pencils, the big scallop border was made with the Tonic Studios Border System (fabulous bit of kit)

Wedding Card - Clean and Simple

Well my family do nothing by halves. My eldest Daughter Lauren sprang it upon us that she will be getting Wed in 10 Weeks time. June the 11th to be exact eeek!

So as this has just been decided it doesn't leave a great deal of planning time for prep and organisation.

Wedding Cards need to be made and sent in mega quick time and we were for our sins going to buy them, I sat tonight with a couple of the Tonic Studios Geared punches (Bride and Groom) and thought "surely I can come up with something elegant yet clean and simple and I'm hoping that this will fit the bill.

I need your comments on this. Does it work?

The card is Antique Gold and Cream the cream is showing up a little white toned but it is cream

2 in 1 Royal Fleur and Fairy 2

I decided to give one of my new punches a whirl and what better way to showcase it than to use one of the images from Digital Pencil Too Fairy 2, I love the fact that this image is voluptuous and not a double Zero skinny mini.
Coloured with Copic markers and I choose my favourite shades of aqua colours and used the 2 in 1 Royal Fleur on corners and edging then teamed it all with a vintage seem binding ribbon and gave it a bit of a curled appearance.
Fairy 2 can be purchased here

I just know you are all going to ask what I used for the edging, well, it is a little edger Punch by Tonic Studios called 2 in 1 - Royal Fleur it does both edges and corners for the silly price of £5.99 cheap as chips.

..............................................................................

I'm hoping to get some bathroom shots later to show you, it's all coming together nicely.

Engagement - Tonic Simplicity Punch Champagne

A square card partly embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder a lovers stamp by Stampin Up inked with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and shaded with Copic markers., a ribbon a heart shape and the Tonic Studios Simplicity Punch - Champagne and a little bit of love to bring it all together.

I hadn't realised the ease of use with a geared punch, it simply does the hard work for you, not only for those that have hand issues using the punches but if you are doing invitations and have loads to punch out this is the baby you need.

You can see the full range of geared Simplicity Punches at Tonic Studios here

Monkey Hug by Mo Manning and Tonic Studios

it has been a while since I did any distress work and whilst at the Trade Show the gorgeous Kirsty Wiseman introduced me to Tonic Studios and they gave me a goody bag and are now sponsoring me, if you didn't already know they make many of the Tim Holtz tools so after a rummage in my bag I decided to give a couple of their tools a whirl on my card.

I had Monkey Hug on my craft desk all readty to colour on my return from the Trade Show so I set to it today, coloured with Copic markers and airbrushed the background to the image.
Tutorial on the distressing below the card image.
