Pearls and Ribbon Buckle are from Mei Flower my favourite embellishment company.

I used the Brighton Pier Mega flakes on the Poppy Heart stamp you can see it has a fabulous effect on the picture below.

The prayer stamp I’ve had for years and I think it was a Stampendous stamp, I bought at a craft fair.

I had a little hiccup with my making the right choices in food on Saturday, Jack had been baking with his Mam and made both myself and his Grandad a chocolate cornflake cake, I picked the smallest one though and it was simply delishhhhhh.

Baroque Christmas Tree–IndigoBlu

I got the most beautiful present from Kay at IndigoBlu on Wednesday.
It is the Baroque Christmas Tree, not only did she leave me her stamp but even the Slim Jim acrylic stamp block, I’d ordered the Flitter glitter glue and Mega flakes to use it but just couldn’t wait for it to arrive as I was itching to get it stamped.

And of course a little close up for you
baroque_christmas_tree2
I used fine detail White embossing powder then added a gem from Mei Flower here and there to accent the tree.
Just to Clarify, the background is stamped by using part of a flourish by Papertrey ink.

Sew Lovely

I’m using a clear stamp set today from The Crafts Meow that you are going to love.

Sew Lovely

I felt wonderful getting to do something crafty, making the little lace bobbin and paper piecing the tailors dummy

Sew_Lovely1

You can see from the image below that paper piecing works really well with this set. being able to incorporate some of the designer paper into the image gives the card that professional touch.

Sew_Lovely2

I love the labels with this set as they work with the spellbinders label dies.

Sew_Lovely3

This is the full set of stamps aren't they amazing?

No Greater Love

I've used the No Greater Love Clear Stamp by The Crafts Meow today for my card, i love the endless possibilities to the use of this stamp. I kept the card monotone but I think the world is your oyster in the colours that could be used with it, I’m thinking Christenings, in blue or pink, Confirmations, Weddings, Easter, and on and on and on.Greater Love

Pearls dotted around are from Mei Flower  and i used a Spellbinders piercebilities die.

Fabulous Evening

We had a wonderful night out last night, Great company and great food. The boys hris and Russ could hardly get a word in edgeways for Sheena and myself and the chat just flowed, I love nights like that.

jak&sheena

We all had so much to talk about and boy did we laugh, Sheena and I decided on the same meal of Lamb until we were asked what we would like then all Sheena could see in her mind were the wee bah lambs that she had just made into craft stamps ha ha, so pork it was for Sheena, if you haven't seen her latest rubber stamps you must go and check them out here, they are brilliant.

Winter Fairy

I’m hoping that this little one will blow the snow here for Christmas morning, I love a white Christmas, there is just something magical about it, I know Grandson Jack would love it, he wasn’t really old enough to know what is was last year when we had it so I would love to know his reaction to it now. I can remember tossing my head back and catching the snowflakes on my tongue when i was young and laying flat on my back waving my arms to make an angel print in the snow.

Winter Fairy Halla by Mo’s Digital pencil

winter fairy1

I used the Penny Black holly stamp and heat embossed with white detail powder then used pale blue ink to swirl over the top to create the blue haze, the ribbon is scrumptious and from the Ribbon Carousel I only used around a 3 inch piece of it and fastened a button to the middle, the lace ribbon holds its shape so was perfect for this.

Clarity Stamp Snow Scene

So I’m still on the Clean and simple kick and I made a little snow scene card using one of the clarity Stamp snow scenes and a Tim Holtz snowman embossing folder.

clarity christmas scene

Crisp navy and white for this card, I used a bit of stickles here and there but in hindsight I won’t use a water based inkpad next time as the stickles glitter glue made the ink bleed slightly, lesson learnt, practice what you preach ha ha!

Inspirational Card

Well my card today started with having my lunch hour in my car yesterday, I went to have a quiet moment and turned on the radio and listened to Jeremy Vine on Radio 2, he has a chat show and yesterdays theme was favourite Hymns, I’m not overly religious but I do prayer from time to time and I like to think there is someone out there for us all.

I have to say I found myself singing along and then I heard Onward Christian Soldiers, this Hymn has such memories for me as my Dad would sing it at the top of his voice mainly on a Sunday Morning because my Mam would listen to Mantovani Orchestra on her record player whilst baking and making the Sunday Roast.

So you could say that I was inspired  by the radio.

Prayer card1

I simply love this sentiment, it is perfect for letting a friend or family know you care and this one is headed for a very dear friend of mine.

Prayer card2

I distressed the background card in a sage coloured ink the used the same ink to stamp some sprigs on top. I used a Marianne Frame die for the sage frame then stamped the sentiment in a moss green ink and used a Spellbinders  Nestabilities label die to cut it out.

Prayer card3

I finished with a couple of pearls and a green satin ribbon making a double bow from my Double Ribbon Bow Tutorial

The rubber stamp I used is called Stampendous M107 Prayer I have had mine quite some while so hopefully you can still get it.

Carmen Electrafying

When is it right to add pink onto a mans card?  Yep I said pink… well I think I can get away with this one. What do you think?

Oh and a bit of trivia for you from Wikipedia.

In Western culture, the practice of assigning pink to an individual gender began in the 1920s or earlier. An article in the trade publication Earnshaw's Infants' Department in June 1918 said: "The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." From then until the 1940s, pink was considered appropriate for boys because being related to red it was the more masculine and decided color, while blue was considered appropriate for girls because it was the more delicate and dainty color, or related to the Virgin Mary. Since the 1940s, the societal norm was inverted; pink became considered appropriate for girls and blue appropriate for boys, a practice that has continued into the 21st century.

Now onto my card, Carmen Electrafying by Kenny K

CarmenElectrafying.digistamp1

Coloured with Copic markers teamed with Papers from Shery k Designs , I made my own card candy to match the designer papers and used a vitage cream satin ribbon and navy button, Nestabilities Label 4 distressed with navy ink and a whimsey ticket stamp to finish.

Thank You

It has been quite a while since I got inky so I thought I would set to work and get down and dirty with a little bit of distressing and some lovely new papers.

Thank you card1

I happened upon a lovely site for backing papers called My Grafico and the papers used in this card where downloaded from there. I also used a Rubber Stamp from Stampin Up (lovely as a tree) for the pine tree.

Thank you card2

Attention to detail came from one of my treasures the watch face from here some ribbon and a few buttons from Fantastic Ribbons (love their stuff)

Please note, if you need a question answered the only way of doing this would be to email me on the address on my side bar or leave an email address in the comment box along with your question.

The link to buy the clock face was in my previous post to this one I have now added the link in this post too.

Clarity Stamp Husky Dog

I simply love these dogs, something quite mystic about them. As I did a clean and simple card yesterday I thought I would keep the same theme but I think this one is quite striking.

clarity Husky

I used the new Flex Markers by Letraset  keeping the colour tones cool I used the watermelon shade on the background and also brought this to the front of the card too by matching the ribbon. I cut the shapes with the quickutz cookie die and the Husky is actually behind the die-cut card and not layered up. you can see it when it is full size.

Little Aviator

dream g3Isn’t it just so sweet that Mo did this as a girl too.

Plenty of girls love this sort of thing and I for one was a typical Tomboy being brought up with two older brothers I had no choice.

Dream Girl by Mo’s Digital Pencil

dream g

Coloured with Copic Markers, the designer paper is one from Stampin Up and the brown stitched block is a silk sample I received when I was in the Lake District, the sentiment is from the Birds of a feather stamp set by Papertrey Ink and a satin ribbon to finish.

Poinsettia

Poinsettia2

Now it would have been such a shame not to make this into a card whilst I was in the Christmas spirit, the Poinsettia is a digital stamp from Stamping Sketcher here and if I’m totally honest it took me a couple of days to colour it, partially because I was boggle eyed with it and partially because I got bored using the red and green colours.

Having said all of that I am totally pleased with the outcome.

Poinsettia

The background red card was stamped with a holly sprig and heat embossed with detail gold embossing powder. The digi stamp was coloured with copics then sprayed with Crafters Companion iridescent spray glitter, matting a laying of gold and black card, some pearls and a ribbon to finish.

Sharing in your Sorrow

sharing in your sorrow2

I’ve had this idea in my head for a couple of days, looking for the image that would fit the card, I knew how the finished layout would look but couldn’t fit the image, then whilst tidying my craft room I came across the stamp set Hopeful Thoughts from Stampin Up

sharing in your sorrow1

It has been a while since I had stamped and embossed so I really enjoyed doing this, not a Copic or Promarker in sight.
