Multi Layers

I had a little time to play, creating multi layers can be so fun, not sticking anything down until you are totally satisfied is the key to this, OK it takes a little longer to create your masterpiece but what is the rush? it is all about enjoying what you are doing so why rush it?

multi layers1

So this is one I built in 2 days, obviously not solid days but  wanted the papers to be right and I kept walking away from it, I had the idea in my head what I wanted and kept adding to the idea. Sticking nothing down until I was happy.

multi layers2

You will probably notice that I rarely add wording to my cards, actually I do it once I know who it is going to or even leave it as it is depending on my mood.

Gold on White with Spellbinders

Not a lot to this card but I love the look of it.

It started with a bit of play, I used the Spellbinders Rustic Wreath M-bossabilities and the Wreath Die using some silicon gel to adhere the die cuts.

wreath1

I used glitter glue around the edges of the die cut pieces to add a bit of sparkle and some pearls from Mei Flower as the berries

wreath2

Tied a pretty sparkly bow around it once I had matted it onto gold card and then glued it in place onto a white card.

Isn’t it pretty?

Little Shepherd Boy

I know I am bias but it has to be sad Jack makes a very angelic shepherd boy, he had his Nativity play at school and even had some lines to rehearse and was so pleased with himself for knowing them off by heart.

November2013-005

he stayed over with us last night, so he came out with us shopping today and was as good as gold, we went to our local butchers to get the meat for the week and something which Jack calls my special meat and he had 3 slices of it, actually it is tongue, much to his Mams dismay he loves it after trying some I bought for myself.

Helping the Elves

On Saturday we went Christmas shopping with our daughter Lauren and of course Jack came along too, it soon became obvious that Christmas shopping just was not Jacks cup of tea at all, so Granda and myself took him on an adventure to the park and on our way back we stopped so that Jack could help the Christmas Elves.

Ragged Martha

No not me although this time of year I am a bit Ragged from the Christmas shopping ha ha!

This is Ragged Martha from Mo’s Digital Pencil

Isn’t she gorgeous?

Ragged Martha1

Coloured with Copic markers and chalk pencils.

My Mam always feed the birds this time of year, mind you she does all year round, but she says we should make an extra effort in winter.

Ragged Martha2

On Monday evening we are going along with Husband Chris to see him being awarded a medal for his long service in the Fire Brigade. It should be a very special evening with the family and I have a new posh frock to attend in.

I couldn’t be more proud of my man, I will try to nab some photographs of the evening and his medal to let you all see it.

Gift Idea for Children–Place Setting

I had to find something for our Grandson Jack as his place setting and it had to be fun and something that he could relate to.

I found this Gift Bag template and thought “ that should do it very nicely thank you”.

Santa_bag2

I know I only needed one for Jack but as his Mam runs an area for slimming would and has gifts to give to team leaders the rest will come in very handy for her.

Super fun and easy to make on the Silhouette Portrait and I found the template on the silhouette site, it was one of Lori Whitlock’s templates.

Santa_bag1

Filled with a few treats and a mini transformer car for when Jack has finished his dinner makes it perfect to get him to tuck into his dinner just to get the prize and the end of it.

More Christmas Place Settings

So I needed another three place settings, I figured that these would be my next two.

Christmas Chapel Boxes from SVG Cuts  I wanted these to be dainty and pretty and I think that I have achieved that.

Pearls are from Mei Flower I think they have the best value for money in pearls and gems.

Chaple_Box_Jak_Heath

All of the trim came from my local haberdashery and the papers came from Stampin Up.

Now I need to find something fun for Jack as all of the adults are now sorted.

Christmas Place Settings

Each year I try to add something a little different to the Christmas Dinner Table, something with a bit of interest,

This year will be the same and I thought making some of these and adding a little gift inside the bottom box would do the trick. I need 6 place settings this year to these are the first three and I will make a different top to the box for the next three.

I used a template set from SVG cuts to make the boxes.

Now I’m a great lover of Gingham Ribbon and this from Mei Flower is simply gorgeous and better still it is half price at the moment so go and fill your boots,

I though you might need a closer view of one of the boxes.

Crafting with Jack

We have had the privilege of having our Grandson Jack stay with us this weekend, although he has chattered so much that he has our ears bleeding it has been a pleasure.

Jack loves to get involved, he likes to work alongside his Granda and he calls him his building buddy (so funny).

The other side to Jack is that he loves to craft with me. I showed a card that he recently coloured and made here which was his first handmade card.

Today we decided to make 3 Christmas cards for his teachers and we decided on winter wellington boots.

Here he is showing just how very clever he is with his finished cards.

Jack Craft1

And a close up of all of them too.

He loved the snowflake background paper for this one and he also loved the glittery pom-poms, he added glitter glue and stuck everything down onto the card, I helped with the cutting out and the ribbon bows.

Jack Craft3

This one he loved the colours and the addition of the bells that jingle jangle, he even coloured the sole of the boots.

Jack Craft2

This one he loved the Christmas trees and added a line of glitter down each tree and tied the bell onto the green sparkly cord and added the big pom-pom border.

Jack Craft4

I have a feeling that he will be so proud to give his teachers cards that he made himself.

NutCracker

I’m still having fun using the Graph’It markers, it is unbelievable just how vibrant they are, I don’t have a full set but what I do have is wonderful, I have the rest on my wish list. They are available at Polka Doodles at a very good price.

My card today is with the Drummer Nutcracker Soldier from Just Inklined

Nutcracker1

I used the reds from the Passion set :- Coral, Tomato and Ruby and also a little bit of Plum on the shading.

Blues from the Everest set :- Sky, Celestial and Lapis

Black, Cool Grey 7, 5 and 2

Yellow from the Sunny set :- Citrine, Banana and Mimosa

Skin :- Nude and Peach

Nutcracker2

Other news for me this weekend is that I picked up my new bike, love that it has front suspension, no wrist pain after a long ride, I did 15 miles today to try it out and I was very impressed.

CAS The Christmas Box

Those of you that watched Create and Craft will have seen me challenge Dean to making a card, it was hilarious but totally fun, we both made the same card and although his was like the wonky donkey it had a charm to it.
This is the card that I made and his went of to a lucky viewer.

Winter Fairy Manty

Did you know that mostly I do not like illustrated fairy’s? I always feel there is something just not quite right about them, it could be that they don’t seem to come up to my expectations that I have in my memories of thinking about them as a child, yet when Mo Manning draws them I simply love them, I think it is the real childlike look that Mo captures, the little tubby tummy and navel.

Coloured with Copic markers and Chalk pencils, Wording cut out on my silhouette portrait.

I could just pinch this little one.
Winter Fairy Manty3
I added a few babs of glitter glue to finish along with some dew drops, stick pins, gems from Mei Flower and a pretty ribbon.
