A New Craft for me.

I have took delivery of the most sumptuous material, ever since I first got married I've wanted something for my home but have never been able to find the right size or the right look.

I found the material at Terry's Fabrics and new it was just what I needed, I need to find some trim for it and I will be giving my sewing machine a whirl.

I'm not making curtains, I'm not making cushions but I am making something that my Nanna (Grandmother) used to have.

Can you guess what I'm making?

I'm dying to get started.

I guess it's not a pin cushion as there seems to be too much material lol. Is it a table runner?

Yes I am going with a table cloth too. My grandmother had a beautiful deep green one with lovely trim and matching fringe.

I would think maybe a complete cover for an ottoman, as I remember my grandmother had one exactly this color with a trim down the bottom, which she threw over the ottoman, when they expected guest in the house, as my granddad always laid on this sofa for his lunchnap every day , and she was always soo mad, it didn´t look fine enough, when guests popped in, so she made this cover for it, and it looks exactly like this.

My Nan used to have these things over her arms on the sofa and chair that she made herself, I think she said they were called auntie macasans errm I don't know how to spell them but for years I thought I had a aunt called that :0)
