Blog Hop 1 - Card and envelope

I cut a pieces of select vellum to the size of the card and embossed it using the Cuttlebug leafy folder, I then cut around the leaves on the embossed vellum so that the bottom have of the card would be exposed, I outlined the leaves using stickles glitter glue, Once dried I wrapped the vellum over the base card and tied a ribbon through the vellum and from layer of the card this helps to hold the vellum in place.

I used wacky tacky tape to stick the vellum to the card underneath the circles that I added, I then cut out 2 butterflies from the linen vellum and embossed the top one and rubbed over this with a contrasting ink pad so that it coloured the embossed part of the butterfly and then stick the butterfly on top of the circles.

Vellum Envelope

I made a matching envelope from the Linen Vellum, I stamped it using the Spiral Bouquet then used a ribbon slot punch and weaved the ribbon through the bottom triangle of the envelope up towards the middle then punched out one more slot in the top closing flat of the envelope slotted through both ends of the ribbon and tied them into a bow, it is the bow that keeps the envelope closed.

Blog Hop 2 - Once started I just couldn't stop.

I cut out the aperture with the square scallop Nestablities and then embossed around the die, I then used the cuttlebug to emboss the stampers select vellum with the texturised folder and stuck this behind the aperture on the inside of the card.

I punched out ribbon holes around the aperture and weaved the ribbon through the holes and tied it in a bow at the top of the card.

I made the flowers out of the linen vellum by using a flower punch and coloured the flowers with watercolour pens the leaves were also made with a leaf punch, I arranged these on top of the embossed select vellum in the middle of the card.

Little Lady - Just a note

I love the cleaness of this card (notelet) the Stamps are By Papertrey Ink and called Little Lady Stamp Set and it is such a dream to work with.

I stamped the dotted trail directly onto the base card with black archival ink, I then added the small ladybird first staping the boddy in red rocket ink then used the black archival ink to add the head and wing dots.

I stamped the large Ladybird onto scrap card stock and cut around the shape then added it onto the card with foam pads.

The wording is stamped with the black archival ink directle onto the card.

Embossed Vellum Wrap & H2O's

I created a vellum wrap for this card by embossing the top part of the vellum with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and the bottom half with the Stylised Flowers folder leaving a little bit of vellum at the top to overlap and attach at the back of the card.

I then painted the flowers and vines on the vellum with H2O paint cakes, mixing them to a very thick creamy consistancy first.

Once the paint had dried I turned it over and with a ball tool I re-embossed over the flowers and vines then attached it to the back of the card with wacky tacky tape.

I punched out 5 small flowers and attached a pearl to each centre and stuck them along the top of the card spacing them evenly, I punched 2 holes at either side of the vellum and slotted the ribbon through the holes and fastened it over the top of the vellum with a knot

Beaded Humming Bird

Well tonight I've been relaxing and doing a touch of sewing and beeding, I haven't made a card with it as yet but I thought you may like to see what I've been up to.

I find humming birds quite fasinating on the pattern that I bought from http://www.stitchingards.com/ the beak was also beaded but I just couldn't get it to look right, so, I just added a couple of extra stitches.

Sundown - Stampscapes

I just love building up these images with the scenery stamps from Stampscapes call me daft but I try to create a place I'd like to be & this one is so peaceful, I could all but dip my toes in.

I started by creating the colour base on a smooth white card, I used the ranger cut n dry foam to blend the inks onto the card, starting with the lightest first I used lemon, sunset, blue and lavender coloured inks.
I used Archival Black ink and started to build up the image started with the sea then the sky and then added the fence, rocks and reeds and lastly the trees, I then blended the blaack ink around all of the edges.

Floral Punch Craft - Pink Poppy

I used a 14cm x 14cm square card and used the Scor-Pal to make the lines on the bottom half of the card, added a silk screen pinted paper to the top half. I cut out 3 circles with the Nestabilities in contrasting card and added them to the centre of the card, I tied a polka dot ribbon around the card and knotted it over the circles.

Imade 2 pink FPC Poppies and added them to either side of the ribbon on top of the circles. Using the word slot punch by SU I stamped Happy Birthday then punched it out of white card stock and mad a little FPC flower to sit on the edges of it, I added this with foam pads to make it pop out from the card.

Tutorial - Oriental Poppy

Lets Start...

When cutting out more than one of the same coloured shape I always fold the paper and cut them out all together, below shows you the petals, use the same method for the 2 leaves.




Cut out the strip of black and fringe 2 thirds of the width of the paper.



The picture below shows all of the pieces needed to complete the flower

Cut a 8cm x 8cm square of crepe paper I used gold but green or yellow would do, scrunch up a piece of tissue paper into a ball (kitchen towel) and add this to the centre of the crepe paper and gather the paper around the ball.


Once gathered give the piece 1 twise to secure it then press the bulbus end onto a flat surface. Lay this to one side ready to add the stamen.


To add depth to the petals colour. I painted them from the pointed end up to around a third of the size on both sides using black soot distress ink and a damp brush, you could use black chalk or watercolour paint or even a black pencil.
Once both sides of the petals have been coloured leave them to one side to dry



While you are waiting for the petals to dry add score lines to leaves using a pointed tool by drawing the tool down towards you, the markings for this is on the leaf template.




The strip of fringed black paper will become the stamen, add wet glue(PVA) along the long unfringed edge, take the gold center piece and begin wrapping the stament around this sticking it just underneath the bulbus end of glod center continue wrapping untill there is none left, pinching it as you go to make sure that it sticks.


Set this to one side to let the glue set.

To shape the petals I used the Flat end of a Deet tool but you can get the same effect by using the tip of the handle side of a teaspoon, lay your petal onto a foam pad or mat using the deet or teaspoon add pressure by pressing down on the very tip of the petal and drawing the tool towards the bottom of the petal, it will crease the petal and shape it so that it is curved.

Continue this method all of the way around the top of the petal. Do this for all 4 petals.

Once you have completed shaping the first petal go on to shaping the other 3

Add wet glue (PVA) to the base of each petal and start to add them one at a time holding them in place with your fingers, slightly overlap each petal.

Continue adding the petals in this way until all 4 petals have been added

As you can see the Stem of the flower is far too long to add to your card, now here is the scary bit "cut it off"

Once this is cut off you can start to add the leaves, add a small blob of wet glue to the base of the leaf and stick it in place.

Add the last leaf and the flower is complete
