Beautiful Gifts

Today was my last day at La Pashe and although I was ready for leaving it left me with many mixed emotions, happy to be moving forward to a new adventure working freelance and opening my options in the crafting world and also sadness leaving my work friends behind.

After all, if I hadn’t started with the company I wouldn’t have had the option of being where I am today.

I received lovely gifts from my friend, a mahousive bouquet  from Laura of beautiful pink roses and delicate purple blooms and chocolates, a bouquet of sunflowers from the La Pashe team and then Jim Harker my friend and the La Pashe artist presented me with the most gorgeous watercolour painting.

my house looks and smells like a florist shop, I still have my birthday flowers from Chris on the left of the picture and a superb tropical bouquet from Daughter Natalie for Mothering Sundayon the right.

A close up of my Original Jim Harker Artist painting. It is Alston in Cumbria.

Career Update

I have one week left at work, it will be very strange leaving it all behind.
I'm so excited for the future but also so much to hand over to someone else at work, I'm sure that I will forget something along the way.
I told you a little while back that I had started drawing again, that has continued and I am building up a library and seeing my progress by doing so.
I'm not ready to show them yet but hopefully soon.
I had a birthday on Sunday and had a wonderful day, lots of goodies and the most beautiful bouquet from Chris, the flowers are opening up and the fragrance is filling the house.

Aren't they gorgeous, the make a dull day very bright.

So on to my update on what I will be doing with myself.
I am going to be freelance, still crafting, still on TV more than I do already, so it is all good.
I'll give you times and dates later.

Time for a Change

Most of you know me from working at La Pashe and Just Inklined, I have loved working there and made loads of friends from being with the two companies. It has in fact been one of the hardest decisions to make and I have had loads of talks with Chris my husband who is also my best friend and supports me in everything I do regardless of the outcome.

I made the decision to leave both of the companies for pastures new, I wish both La Pashe and Just Inklined along with all of the staff and the design team ladies the very best for the future it has been a pleasure to work with you all and I thank you for supporting me.

So my last day will be 4th April and I am super excited for what lies ahead.

I figured if I don’t do it now I will have years of “what ifs” in front of me so now is the time.

I know many of you love the companies and hope you will continue to do so.

Harrogate Papercraft Extravaganza

I popped over to Harrogate craft show yesterday, it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces there. I thought I would give out a Shout to one of my favourite embellishment companies that was there Mei Flower if as yet you haven’t come across this company then you are missing out.

People were like bees around a honey pot on this stand, or should that be like Magpies picking up all of the shiny, sparkly pretties that they have to offer.

Here is some of the gorgeousness that I picked up while I was there.

Angel Feathers

They say that feathers are symbolic to a loved one that has passed away being around you, I believe it has to be a white fluffy one, I don’t know how true that is but there is certainly something heavenly about them.

The feather that I have used today was a free cut file from Silhouette, when I got it I wasn’t really to sure what I was going to do with it, I just know that I loved it.

Feather1

I decided to cut it out in varying sizes and then sprayed them with vintage sprays, I then layed them to one side until inspiration came, adding things I liked, a bit of spiders web lace a button and a bow, a flourish and a border, I played with layering them up until I was happy with the look.
