Continuous Cuttlebug Embossing - Tutorial

After being asked many times how to create a continuous background using the Cuttlebug A2 folders I thought I would show you how I do it. One thing to bear in mind is that it will only work with repeated patterns, and word folders just won't cut the mustard with this technique

I started with a 14x14 cm tent fold card

Wrap the cuttle bug folder around the card, this card is a tent fold card so I am wrapping the folder with the closed edge of the folder at the bottom of the card.

Next run this though the Cuttlebug.

You can see that only part of the card is embossed

Next move the embossing folder across the card to emboss the other side matching up the dots by overlapping the folder over the already embossed dots.

Then run this through the Cuttlebug.

You can see from where the arrow is pointing that the folder has flattened some of the embossing, this is easily fixed as shown in the next step.

Match up the pattern by wrapping the folder around the card where you first started being careful to match up the embossed parts, this can be easily seen through the folder as it is transparent.
Once you have matched up the folder run your finger down on top of where the flattened embossing was, this will easily pop back up as it has already been embossed once.

as you can see no gaps can be seen

& there we have it, the finished card

Creating a Background Pattern

Using the new Guide lies stamp by PTI I created the backgound pattern on the card using the versamark ink pad. I stamped up the OUT on a Limb stamp set using Spring Moss and Lavender Moon Palette inks and added dimond stickles over the blossoms to make them pop. I added a couple of stones to the corners and finished with a Plum Pudding Grosgrain Ribbon.

Friend Card - Lilac's

I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to emboss the base card then tied the ribbon by PTI (Plum Pudding Satin) around the bottom and tied into a knot.
The stamp set used is Blossoms Abound by Stanping Up I started with the branch inked with Papertrey Ink shades spring moss then used the lighter shade Lavender Moon on the bottom lilac then used the plum pudding shade on the top lilac the my friend was also inked with plum pudding.
I layered the stamped images with Plum Puddding and an Olive colouered card stock.
The first card you see is my 2nd attempt at the stamps the one below was my 1st.
I always get Chris my Hubby to comment on the cards and I'm afraid that he wasn't keen on these, but as I liked them I thought I would show you all anyway ( a good example of You can't please all of the people all of the time)

This card was the 1st card I made with the stamp set.

June Blog Hop Card - Acetate

I used the Circle Nestabilities to cut out an aperture from the square card and then cut a smaller scalloped circle from the same card stock, using white card I cut out a matching plain circle.
I stamped all over the front of the card with spring moss ink using the spiral bouquet stamps then using the same stamp set I added a floral design to the white circle.

I cut a piece of acetate 1 mm smaller than the card and added it behind the aperture, I then added the centre circles and cut out another white circle stamped the same as the first and added it to the inside to hide the glue that was holding the front circle onto the acetate.
I finished the card by adding a few pearls some stickles glitter and a satin ribbon.

Friendship Card

New goodies arrived from PTI and I just had to play, I used the beautiful bloom and the new guide line stamp sets.I stamped the flower heads separately and cut them out and mounted them on top of the leaves, I used slithers of green card stock to make the flower stems, I created the pattern on the plum card stock by using the guide lines then stamping the pattern on top of this, added a few pearls to finish
The coloured card stock is plum pudding and the inks are Plum Pudding, Spring Moss and Lavender Moon, Ribbon is plumb pudding all from Papertrey Ink.
