Promarker Tutorial Video Winner

Gosh I nearly forgot to do the draw for this, I’m going to blame it on a lazy Sunday, I was shattered after the Promarker class yesterday I forgot just how much a full day takes it out of me, still suffering with a bad back and it tends to go from being very uncomfortable to being unbearable and there is no warning sign in between. I think my days of full days tutorials and full days demo’s are numbered.

I totally forgot to take pictures on the day, but the class was amazing and all of their projects were fabulous, many of them were just needing the guidelines and the confidence to do it. I’m thinking they will be Promarker experts within a few weeks of practice.

So here is a peek of what we did.

promarker class

We covered lots of topics from hair colouring to drop shadows and backgrounds to curved shading.

Thanks Mo “ Mo’s Digital Pencil “  and Just Inklined for allowing me to use a couple of your images.

So on to the winners of the Tutorial Video's.

114. Eve Hammond and 433. Fiona

If you could both drop me an email with the subject marked as Promarker Video Winner and include your details I will pop them in the post for you.

Back to School with Spectrum Noirs

As a few of you had asked my opinion on Spectrum Noirs I thought it would be nice to road test them and give them a whirl, so here goes.

Firstly an image coloured with them.

Back to School by Mo’s Digital Pencil  was my image choice to try out the pens, one of the first things that I notice about the pens was that the nib needed to be primed by that I mean scribbling on a scrap piece of card to get the ink through to the nib, this ensured it would be wet enough to blend colours successfully, I also got best result by laying down the light shades first then building up the darker areas and then going back to the lighter shade and dragging from the dark through to the light shade.

In honesty a good value for money pen and can’t wait to see more shades in it.

to school c

For me the downside to the Spectrum Noirs has to be this….

spectrum noirs

My husband Chris thinks that he has shares on them ha ha.

They won’t stop me using other brands I still love my Promarkers and my Copic pens instead I will use them alongside my others and they do deserve a place alongside them..

Coloured with Copic markers, I decided on none traditional Halloween colours as I wanted it to be a little Mystic in appearance.

It was a bit like challenge Aneka to make the card as both myself, Mina, and Mo were racing to get it coloured up, of course they won as some of us needed to go to work then have a Granny nap when they got home.

Halloween Bats

don't have nightmares.

Clarity Stamp Husky Dog

I simply love these dogs, something quite mystic about them. As I did a clean and simple card yesterday I thought I would keep the same theme but I think this one is quite striking.

clarity Husky

I used the new Flex Markers by Letraset  keeping the colour tones cool I used the watermelon shade on the background and also brought this to the front of the card too by matching the ribbon. I cut the shapes with the quickutz cookie die and the Husky is actually behind the die-cut card and not layered up. you can see it when it is full size.

Heart Wrapped in Gold

I’m hoping that I got this right. I know the lady of the house goes for a clean and simple card when it comes to giving card so I’m betting on her liking the CAS style.

anniversary card

I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the leaves onto the base card, it is a Sizzix embossing folder from the fall set, I scored the bottom part of the card using my ScorPal.

The heart is an unmounted stamp from Impression Obsession. inked in green then gold thread wrapped around and a pearl added to the center and the scalloped heart was done with a spellbinder heart die. A pretty satin ribbon tied into a bow finished the card.

We booked up for Castle Howards Proms in the Park, we have been before and it must be around 10 years ago and it is as good now as what is was on our first experience.
