Peony Wreath Silhouette Portrait

As I said I have been making so many 3d projects and I think this Peony wreath is amongst my favourites, it is another Jamie Moore Cripps design which can be found in the Silhouette Store.

I added some hessian and some additional foliage to the design, and used some distress inks to give it some extra character.

Little Chapel

As this week was all about resting I decided to create some projects with my Silhouette Portrait, I cut out during the day and glued on an evening whilst watching TV.

I started with this cute little Chapel.

Chaple1

Of course I had to use printable acetate and create some stained glass windows.

I used the cosmic shimmer glue to stick it all together as it has a very good grab an it is quick drying too.

I popped in some fairy lights and left the roof unstuck as I thought it would make a pretty Easter gift box.

Chaple2

I’ve a good few projects to show you but thought that this would be a lovely one to start with.

Brigade Cards

As a rule of thumb I don’t take card orders, I am always too busy to do them and stress myself out over them yet as soon as a request came from one of Chris’s past work mates from the Brigade came in I said yes.

So I hope he will like them, I had made this card as a thank you card for Chris when he left the Brigade and it is still pinned up on the notice board hence the request.

All four finished boxed and wrapped with tissue to make it pretty.

Home Made Wall Art - How it was made.

You know how it is.... You search for something to finish the room off but just can't find exactly what you want wrong colour, wrong size, wrong shape etc...

So in my head I knew what I wanted and kept trying to explain it to Chris but couldn't get the vision across to him.

So I started by cutting out some wording in vinyl on my Silhoette Portrait in two colours and then went in search of some planks of wood.

I used a roller to paint on my darkest colour of Matt paint and then left it to dry.

Once dry I retreated to my craft room and started brushing on the PVA Glue

Before it dried I painted over the top with the lighter shade of paint.

The the magic begins, using my heat gun I started to heat over the glue and paint and before your eyes it does this brilliant crackle effect.

Making the planks of wood look all distressed. Now for adding the wording once the paint is dried, I kept the backing paper on my vinyl until I was happy with how it looked.

Once I was happy I applied the vinyl then started to rope up my creation.

With the finale knot being tied it was ready to hang on the wall.

As you can see, I'm a tad proud on my new wall hanging.

Designing for Jack–T-Shirts

Hard to believe but Jack will be 5 next month and I thought it would be pretty awesome if he had his own designer wear.

I designed some T-Shirt slogans for him cut them out in Vinyl on the Silhouette Portrait and then heat pressed them onto the shirts.

This one is Oh so true.

Designing for Clothing

I have been playing with Vinyl today, I have been helping friends with a special project for their beautiful Grand Daughter, her very own brand so to speak.

Oh yes, it also has a designer logo at the back

I love how they turned out, we were limited in the colours of vinyl that we had to play with but i do think this works.

I also designed a T-Shirt for Nigel May presenter at Create and Craft TV but I want a picture of him wearing that before I show it on here.

All in all it was a successful day with good company, Thanks Peter and Sue.

Angel Feathers

They say that feathers are symbolic to a loved one that has passed away being around you, I believe it has to be a white fluffy one, I don’t know how true that is but there is certainly something heavenly about them.

The feather that I have used today was a free cut file from Silhouette, when I got it I wasn’t really to sure what I was going to do with it, I just know that I loved it.

Feather1

I decided to cut it out in varying sizes and then sprayed them with vintage sprays, I then layed them to one side until inspiration came, adding things I liked, a bit of spiders web lace a button and a bow, a flourish and a border, I played with layering them up until I was happy with the look.

The Perfect Gift

Friends of ours Peter and Sue have took the plunge and opened their own photography studio, up until now they have always been mobile, there base was always their home and the business took over their home time. I’m always in awe of those brave enough to take that step, dedication and hard work.

Their new premises is in Coxhoe, County Durham and I will be posting all about it later, you will recall Chris’s long service official photographs yes? well it was Peter and Sue who did them.

So open day is Saturday coming and as Chris and I are invited to it and I really needed to find a little gift to take along to wish them well.

I found the perfect thing. Hand crafted too.
