Snowflake Spinner - Tutorial

How it's made...

We start this by using a piece of A4 card stock and scoring it into 4 equal quarters as shown in picture 1 then cut away one of the quarters as shown in the 2nd picture.

Fold the card on the longest score line so that card is a tent shaped card.
On the side that is double thickness (2 layers) you need to cut out a circle making sure that you cut through both layers, I used a nestabilitie die.

When opened it should look like this.

I cut out 2 of each straight and scalloped edged circles the 2 scalloped circles are in a very pale pink card stock (you need to make the scalloped circles small enough to pass through the apertures you cut on the main card).
I stamped snowflake onto the plain circles and glued these on top of the scalloped ones.

I added double sided tape all over the back of the snowflake and stuck the 2nd snowflake on top of this by carefully aligning the scalloped edge.In the 2nd picture you can see the thread runs through the inside of the snowflakes (see arrows)

I used the snowflake embossing folder and wrapped this around the front of the card with the aperture cut out as this would not run through the cuttlebug I wrapped the back side of the card behind the folder as shown in the 2nd picture.

On the reverse of the cuttlebugged aperture I added 2 strips of double sided tape to adhere the silver thread to and hold the snowflake in place.

Add double sided tape over the silver thread and to the rest of the back of the aperture then fold over the other piece with the circle cut out and this will hide the silver thread making a neat finish
I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card some stickles for sparkle pearls to the snowflake center and knotted a ribbon around the top
 that's it your done!

Here are some tips on how you can make a custom invitation card easily

Winter Village - Cuttlebug

A quick card befor I go to Prepare for Create & Craft tomorrow.
I cut an apeture with the rectangle Nestabilities dis, I embossed some white card stock using the Cuttlebug Winter House A"folder and used glamour dust to glitter the roof tops and hill, I then glued this in place behid the apeture.
The sowflakes were cut using the die and emboss cuttlebug snowflake and glued to the card after I wrapped the white ribbon around it. I stamped the Noel onto the same colour card as the base card and sprinkled with glamour dust and added to the card with foam pads.

Lillie - Pink Petticoat

Another print from Pink Petticoat coloured with Prisma pencils and mounted onto red card stock. I stamped a floral border by Penny Black onto a turquois card staock and punched a scallop edge to matching paper and punched holes across the top and slotted red ribbon through the hole and tied into a knot.
I finished by adding a paper blossom and added a red button to the center.

Enter The Dragon - Dragon Fruit

On a shopping spree I came across this weird and wonderful item in the fruit section of my supermarket, it name is Dragon Fruit and it is imported from Vietnam. It was quite pricey but I new I had to give it a try.

Gosh what a surprise inside not at all what I was expecting,

once I'd cut it I wasn't really sure what to do with it, so, I took a spoon & scooped out a little to try.

Now to try to explain the texture and taste, well the texture is very similar to a watermelon and the taste is like a weak honey melon very disappointing as I was expecting it to be tangy similar to passion fruit.
I ate half and then gave the other half to my neighbour as he is a bit green fingered and is going to try to grow some of the seeds. I'll let you know how he gets on.

Floral Beauty - Prisma Pencils

Although this stamp (Large Wisteria 1161S ) is one of my favorites it is also the largest I've ever found, it is an A5 size and comes from Beeswax Stamps it is what I call a challenge stamp as it is like an etching with no clear defined lines.
I stamped the image in Archival black ink directly onto the card then selected some prisma pencils, 2 green, 2 lavender blue, 1 pink & 1 darker blue. I coloured the image and used baby oil to blend the colours.
I cut out the oval for the Lady with nestabilities and added it to the card so it was encircled in the wisteria, and stamped Bloom along the bottom of the card.

Does My Bum Look Big In This...

Tomorrow is my Daughter Lauren's 21st Birthday and unlike my other Daughter Natalie she likes quite Girly things.
I don't do Girly Cards, so why I started this one I'll never know.
I used Woman of life stamp set for the flower background and I used Pink Petticoat download images for the hippo I coloured the hippo in paint shop pro.
