My New Toy and Blog Candy

I’ve got a new toy from the UK Daylight Company that I can carry with me all of the time, I love working in natural light, not only is it kinder on the old eyes but it also gives true colour which is a must for me. I loved this new toy so much that I also got one for Chris, as some of you know he not demonstrates at model shows so this is ideal for taking with him as it runs on batteries so he never has to worry about a socket point.
LED lamp_flashlight

Picture the scene, Sunday night Downton Abbey on the TV something I wouldn’t want to miss, normally I would have to down tools whilst watching but with this LED Lamp & Flash light (yes it is also a torch) I can just grab a few pens and what ever I am working on and take it into the front room and colour while watching my favourite TV show.
LED lamp_flashlight2

It boasts 28 x LED's on Lamp and 6 x LED's on Flashlight and packs a mighty punch for it’s size the other main factor for me was it’s weight can you believe it is only 1/2lb or in todays weight tally 0.32kg we are going to keep one of ours in the car for emergencies.
Not only should you have one of these but I’m going to give my followers the chance of winning one of these.

So the rules are

  • You must be a follower of my blog

  • You must link this on your own site or facebook or a forum. (if not you must mail me for confirmation before adding your name.

  • You must add your name to the inlinkz to be in for a chance of winning.

  • You must leave a comment telling me why it will make a difference to you for your crafting.

I would love to win this as I do my colouring in the livingroom as it is more comfortble than sitting at my craft desk and the light is a real drawback

This looks fabulous Jak. I'd love to win one so I can enjoy colouring on the move - any place, anywhere! And if I don't win....I guess I'll just have to buy one! Carol x

I work full time during the day and have a 4 year old so all of my crafting doesn't get done until after she goes to bed so having a light like this would make a HUGE difference for me and my craft making.

I am super excited and crossing my fingers for this one :)

I would love to win this! I do my crafting projects at night when my 3 year old son is asleep and the light I have from the ceiling is not enough the position when I'm on the desk is over my head so it shadows my project.

Great giveaway!

I not only want one, I need one :O) I have a disease in my eyes, and I have a hard time seeing. I use a magnifier now, and lay on the floor, and it real small, so it's gets to my neck. I use a tall lamp, drag it to the middle of the living room so I can have enough light, but it is up so high, makes it hard. I love to color with copics and so it's worth all the trouble to me, and I love to stamp :O) Hugs! Leah Ann http://thehoosierstamperleahanngast.blogspot.com

Actually I need a lamp... I don´t have a craft room and craft in the living room or the kitchen but don´t have a good light, so winning this will make a huge difference :)
Thanks for the chance!!!

We have so much trouble with our vision and it sure does impede crafting. Despite regular eye exams and new bifocals (plus Bob has to have eye surgery), our vision is just impaired. Your new tool looks so easy and convenient to use. I bet it has made a huge impact on your crafting, now that you are using it.
Would love to have the opportunity to try it for myself.

WOW it sounds really amazing, nd it might just be exactly, what I need here. I have a cataract, that gets worser month for month, but they wount operate this eye until I can´t see a thing, because they say, it´s too risky if anything goes wrong, cause then I wount have any vision left at all, as I´m born with only vision on one eye, so that´s why they wount do it, until there´s nothing to loose about it, but it also means, I get more and more troubles seing to craft, and as I´m alaso healthretired because of a ruined back, I wount have anything left anymore, if I can´t do my craft either, so this might really be a savior to me. I´ve never seen them here anywhere ever before, so I am really impressed of this light and what you said here. Will have to check it more out now, that´s for sure, it sounds a lot better than the big magnifying glass I´m using now.

The lighting in my craft room is just terrible, so a light like this would be a godsend. I am a subscriber, but I don't have a blog, so I would like a confirmation. Thank you. Terre

I would love to win one of these so that I could work downstairs with hubby instead of deserting him and disappearing upstairs for the night!
Thanks for such great candy and for a wonderful blog, Jak,

Hi Jak - Fabulous Candy.

I'd love to win this lamp. I do have a very old Angle Poise Lamp with a daylight bulb in it, but it is large and quite heavy, which means that when I work away from my desk I don't use it.
If I had a lamp like yours I could use it in the front room when I colour in the evenings in front of the TV!!
Thanks for the chance to win.

Hugs

I don't have an eye problem as such - just becoming more short sighted as I get older! However the lighting in the room I use to craft is very poor and shadowy so it is difficult to craft in the evening. I sometimes take stuff upstairs into the lounge where I fiddle around with a table lamp but this is far from ideal. This lamp sounds ideal! I would love the chance to win. Thanks for your generosity Jak.

My house is surrounded by big buildings. So it's always gloomy inside my house .I have to switch on the light bulb always and electricity is very expensive here in Sri Lanka. This is a perfect lamp for me to do my craft work coz it reduces amount of electricity I have to use.As it is portable I can carry it around the house.. Thank you very much for your kind offer..

Morning Jak, this would be a fabulous addition to my crafting goodies, much like you I like to multi task while watching my fav programs (of which Downton is definitely one - though i've not caught up with last nights episode yet). Also I manage to squeeze in some crafting when my daughter is finally tucked up in bed so this would be wonderful for my colouring and crafting!
Thanks for the chance to take part.

Jak you are so generous for giving us this chance. I would love to win ones, so that I can also join my hubby in the evenings, and not sit in my craft room. If I am not the lucky one I might have to contact you for the details to try and get one. Warm wishes.

Wow Jak what a fabulous giveaway. The lamp looks brilliant. I have to do my crafting in the kitchen or when the kids have gone to bed in the spare bedroom, and as the nights are drawing in it would be ideal. I could also be like you and watch Strictly which colouring.

I would love one of these as the lighting in my craft room leaves a lot to be desired. I have 3 lights in here and it still makes everything look like it has a yellow tinge. Have shared this on my facebook page.
If i am not lucky enough to win i think my husband may have to buy me one :-)thanks once more Jak for this lovely Blog Candy, there is going to be one very happy lady winning this.

Thanks for the chance to win one of these I'm sure it would help me as living with low energy lightbulbs are a nightmare - it would also come in handy when trying to do my cross stitch xx

Like you Jak, I craft while watching Downton Abbey,I use promarkers, never tried Copics? Wish me luck, I really need a new lamp.!!!!!

AuroraDawn said...

Oh I didn't know you could get them with batteries, I drag one around with me but it has to be plugged in which as you can imagine is nightmare - battery operated is so useful - I'm buying one anyway - and secret santa just might distribute at least one to my local craft group ;O)

Denise Jo said...

Thanks for the chance to win this. How great it would be to actually see what I am doing.. I love doing the digi stamps and making cards and scrapbooking, so this would be wonderful, as I usually do them sitting on the couch or in bed, and the lighting is not very good. Thanks again.

Jae x said...

wow! This would be the ultimate tool when crafting! Nothing worse than thinking you have matched colours perfectly in the evening and then the following morning realise it is totally not the right shade let alone colour. Thank you Jak for the opportunity to be in with a chance to win one of these lamps x

Ann Vaughan said...

Now that my children have left home, I work in the smallest bedroom, which is really a boxroom and I find the new lightbulbs very difficult to work with in the evenings. When I look at my work in the light of day, I often find the shades do not tone at all - so, I would love one of the new lights - fingers crossed!!

ursula said...

Jak this would make my life so much easier, as the old eyes are struggling a bit and adding some extra daylight would be so much better. Thanks for the super chance to win, you are a star!!!! Luv Ursula xx

fiegehenk said...

Well I do wear glasses so my eye sight isn't great, so crafting by candle light proves to be a challenge for me. Lol I don't really craft by candle light but my craft lighting in my bedroom is very dim and poor, so this lamp might just be the answer for me. Great prize Jak!

Linda said...

What a great addition to any crafter's kit.
I would be so chuffed to win it as not only would be it be kinder on the old eyes but it is portable. A great bonus for me as I can used it out here in Bahrain and when I am back home in the UK without adding too much to the baggage allowance.
Hope I am lucky.

Hello jak firstly thankyou for offering us a chance to win this brilliant invention!! Due to having M.E I dont often sleep much and would love to colour in the middle of the night instead of putting a big light on incase anyone gets woken, also Idont have time through the day with 6 folks, four dogs, 2 cats, a mad cockateil and a fish............and a partridge in a pear tree lol. Thanks Jak x

Hi Jak the new light sounds great especially that you can use batteries with it but there are more people above my reply who need it more than I do Love your website xxx

Thank you for the opportunity to win this lamp, Jak. I, too, have eye problems - a PVD which means I only have peripheral vision and get flashing lights. My husband is making me a craft room so the lamp would complete it. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the chance to win this Jak, it's so generous of you.
I'd really love to win this as my favourite occupation is colouring but due to my eyesight getting worse I find I really struggle now. I'm due to get new glasses any day, so that should help, but I know that this daylight lamp would be such a blessing.

Dawn C said...

Hi Jak,
Thanks for the opportunity to try and win one of these. I've thought about something like this in the past, but as usual there's never a plug socket around where you need one! This battery operated one would be absolutely perfect. Like you, I can sit and watch TV whilst crafting away and keep my colours matched to boot.

I'd love one of these! I find that whenever we're away somewhere, I need something to do in a quiet moment, and colouring some images is perfect. But nowhere has decent lighting these days! It's as if whoever decides on lighting levels believes that no one ever wants to do anything other than watch TV in the dark! Something like this would be great to take with me.

Hi Jak, looks amazing, and so light and mobile. Brilliant, I could so do with one of these, I have to keep putting drops in my eyes, too much eye strain I suppose, Would work wonders with the colours too. Fingers crossed, I have put on Facebook.

Hi Jak, what a fabulous lamp that would be so useful. I like to colour in the evenings but cannot seem to get a good light, even with the daylight bulbs. The colours always look different in the daylight. Would love to win this.

I would love to have one of these for all these reasons stated by others :o) But mainly because I could take my crafting with me to my daughters when I babysit which is fairly often as both her and her partner do shift work ! Good luck to all and thanks to Jak for the chance to win this fabby light x

I just came acros your blog, because I was doing the Mo bloghop and I really liked the card you made, so I started to surf your blog and saw this candy. This light would really be great for me, as living in the Netherlands (lots of rain and bad weather :-))and the evenings starting earlier now. And if the lights mean that my colouring is gonna get even a bit closer to yours, than I'm a fan!! So I'll cross my fingers and thank you for this chance! xxx Marianne MW

What a cool little light. Thanks for the chance to win it. It might make it possible for my old eyes to be anywhere other than my well lit workspace! To be able to color in the living room with DH in the evening. Or to go to an all day scrap and actually have decent light to work by....sounds like too much fun!
