Multi Layered Heat Transfer Vinyl How To

How to start with layering HTV ( Heat Transfer Vinyl)
When you see a multi coloured design using vinyl it can be a little daunting but it doesn't need to be.

Where do you start? well I think finding a design that you like is a very good starting point. Then I would say finding a vinyl that is of good quality that has been trialed and tested.
That is where GM Crafts comes in. For my project I used the Premium Vinyl, it's flexible and just look at the colour range.

Once you have your colours you need to take your design into your electronic cutting machine ( I used Silhouette Cameo)

When I send to cut it was easier for me to cut by colour fill, see the pic below.

Once  each colour of the vinyl is cut and the weeding is finished then the fun of adding it to your project begins.
I found it best to print my design out onto paper and add it between the layers of the T-Shirt, I could see the design through the T-Shirt making it much easier to know where each colour needed to be when pressing.

Working one colour at a time and pressing for 5 seconds until all layers are completed.

Once I have all of the vinyl colours on the T-Shirt I gave it a final maximum 10 second press and then you're done, For an EasyPress machine follow the manufacturers recommendations.

This could be the perfect way of using up all of your colour scraps.

Etched Glass with Vinyl

Recycle a vase into something special.
It doesn't have to be difficult with G.M. Crafts

If you haven't tried G.M Crafts you may want to pay them a visit, they do a full spectrum of different vinyls.
Working on a vase I've used my Silhouette Cameo 3 to cut out the designs however there is nothing stopping you using a die cutting machine and dies.

Can you see the sparkle from the Gemstone Vinyl and the Frosted Glass Dark Sparkle Etch Vinyl?
Long gone are the days of just a gloss sign writing vinyl as G.M.Crafts are geared for us crafty folk that want a bit more than the normal.
You need a application sheet to transfer the vinyl from it's carrier sheet to your project but they last a long time as they are reusable.

Fancy Fold Card

I love working with paper, of course pretty papers help.
Paper pads have came down in price over the years and you can get get pads that have substance relatively quite cheap to what the used to be.

I used a 6 x 6 printed paper cut in half and scored in opposite directions then cut at an angle and butted together at the centre. a second paper underneath to make it pop.

layering up a Tim Holtz tattered poinsettia to use for the focal point.

A Christmas Centre Piece

Still playing ahem... working with glass pieces but this time for the dinner table.

This was made from a balloon Gin glass.

Paper napkins were used alongside the starlight paints.

I little bit tricky trying to work from the inside of the glass.

Love the overall effect.

Making Christmas Gifts

Getting ready for Christmas and making some gifts.
Bonbon Plate
A large glass plate painted with Starlight Paints by Imagination Crafts and some Christmas napkins.

Love working with starlight paints and normally I work from the back side of the plate however was a frosted plate and wouldn't show the image so I worked from the front with this one.

I actually love how it turned out, quite different from working on the reverse as you see all of the mica flakes from the front.

As you can see from the above picture it is so sumptuous.
all in all I think both my Mam and my Mother -in-law would both love this plate.

Something that could be brought out each year.
