And so the work begins...

Rising Damp, not the popular TV sitcom but in my Kitchen.

It is dropping apart, mould climbing up the walls sulphur seeping through the plaster eeek what a job we have ahead of us.

So the boys are here this morning fixing a new fuse box ready for the demolition work of the walls and units.

We will be going right back to the brick. We will be without a working kitchen for around 2 to 3 weeks once it gets underway.

So if anyone out there would like to take pity during this time and make us a roast chicken dinner it would be more than welcome ha ha!

wishing you the best. come on across the pond we have some nice and spicy chicken here in the south. there's always room at the table , if not there are tv trays! :) hope yours moves quicker than mine did a few years back it was months not weeks. the bright side no cooking not many groceries, the bad side no cooking or many groceries. some days you just can't win. so hop on your bike and go for a nice ride. weather sould be better now. it's getting hot here so it's probably nice there. hey, no need to cook dinner so more time to craft. it's totally a win win for you!

Wishing you the best. I would love to make you dinner, but my oven is dying and my new one won't be here until Monday. I just don't think I can keep it warm for delivery from WI, USA. Hehe. You are welcome to come over though.

Oh poor you Jak, but your kitchen will be gorgeous once it's all done. I am not very good at cooking so you would be safer without me offering a meal lol x

Lol! I don't envy you Jak, we've been there & done that most of last year!
Just rest assured it will come to an end & you'll have a beautiful new kitchen at the end!
If you want to pop up to Edinburgh for dinner sometime please feel free!
There might be the odd cat hair in it & you'll need to sleep with crafty stuff but hey ho!

WOUW I sure don´t envy you at all. We did the exact same as you many years ago. We started to tear it all down the friday night, we went of for the summervacation and just put the last plate back in the cupboards the Sunday night before we started back to work the next morning, so what a vacation that was, but aftrwards it was sooooooooooooooo nice and awesome. And thanks god it´s this time of year, cause we can easily cook most food on the grill now and have some salad with it, so I´m sure, you wount starve, but if you need to get some cooked potatoes and some more traditional made food, you´re welcome to join us here, just over the small ocean and you´ll be able to join us for a nice time here he he he.

ooohhh... I don't envy you one bit Jak! I have gone through this a couple of times - I hope you are having people in to do the work? It will be well worth it though - you will have a lovely new, dry kitchen when it's all done :-) Think of all the goodies you will be able to make when it's done - in the meantime, though will keep fingers crossed for good weather... BBQ most nights for tea sounds good! xx
