Floods in the Northeast (Newcastle)

Jeepers we had some weather going on in Tyne and Wear, late afternoon the sky turned black at work, we all even went outside to look at the sky, it was weird, so heavy.

  4. Oh wow Jak, what an awful time for you all in Tyne, hope all are safe and it has not caused too much damage. We here in Cheshire have had a mixed bag of weather today, very hot and humid, and like April downpours, some thunder but that only lasted for a couple of rumbles.

  11. WOW it looks a lot like the weathewr, we´ve just had here in DK this morning, so seems like it´s kept on over the sea to get here LOL.

  14. We live in Durham... same thing here. Black sky, thunder, lightening, flooded garden back and front (never happened before) and flooded local school closed to half the children today. EEK! scrappyjen x

  16. We had this too here in the East Midlands, the hale storms broke our roof of the lean too!! It was very strange to see...
    Take care everyone in the wind we have today and drive carefully through the floods...

  18. we thought we had it bad (also Leics.) could play golf with all the holes in consevatory roof from 'button mushroom' size hail stones!! green house glass cut tomato plants in half tooo! but at least were not flooded - am so grateful for that... good wishes to all who suffered. Rosie

  21. hi Jak, we are in the north east as well, durham area, i have never seen so much water the roads have been ripped to pieces we just about needed a boat, quite a few shops in our village and houses have been flooded. My son works at willington and the school was flooded there, he went to work at 6am to help the cleaners get cleaned up.

  23. Took Sean's partner five hours to get from Newcastle to Middlesbrough. She left work at 4p.m. because the weather was getting so bad and got home after 9p.m. - with legs firmly crossed!!

Glad you're ok Jak.I'm the other side in ferryhill Station & we had the torrential rain & storms, but not as bad as your area. still not pleasant as 2 of our dogs were so frightened.One friend on a group is spending all weekend cleaning up, countless cards for orders ruined, her home is a mess:(
