I was so thrilled when i saw all of the wonderful Anniversary wishes from you all, that was so sweet of you all. We had a wonderful day which started with a lovely day out on a venture across Wrynose and Hardknot Pass, I may tell you that this is not for the faint hearted as the drive is a 1 in 3 gradiant drive over the hills (butt clenching stuff) but the views that bestowed us were breath taking beautiful. We headed off the beaten track and ended up at Wastwater and oh my giddy aunt it was haunting.
Wastwater
It was quiet and secluded and left us gasping at the views
On our return we opened the door to our room and found these.
Chris the owner of the guesthouse had bought us flowers and a card, wasn’t that lovely.
Then on the evening we went out for a fabulous Indian meal which finished our day off perfectly.
Chris has been a busy bee updating his blog so if you haven’t already had a peek you can do so here
oh wow sounds lovely .. the vew is stunning and the flowers were a lovely touch

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I have terrifying memories of the Hardknott pass. We only went up the first bit to get to the Roman Fort & there were awful smells coming from the clutch. The view from the fort was almost worth it. Only 'almost' cos it's a stunning place, but hubby got flashbacks for ages afterwards (he's the one that drives).
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a lovely time

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the beautiful picture of your trip. I live in St. Louis, MO USA and love traveling to the mountains in western US and Canada. Looked up the info on this lake - quite interesting about the gnome garden!
