My Mam's Baby Boy Cards

I need your help!
My Mam who was my inspiration to first making cards informed me today that she thought her card making days were over. she added that she felt that she just couldn't put a card together these days and that she has lost all her inspiration.
the two cards below are cards that she made, one for baby Jack to the parents, the other for myself and Chris as Grandparents.
Now I know I'm bias as this is my Mam but I think she has perfect colour co-ordination and everything she makes is perfect, no raggy edges or anything skewdy whiff.
I would love it if you would leave a comment of encouragement for her, I would hate her to give this all up.

I love this one too, I'm loving the humongous B the striped nestabilities label and the flower that matches perfectly, all finished with some fancy scoring on the base card and a sheer blue ribbon

  2. Wow Jak, I love your Mum's cards, no wonder you are so talented you had a great teacher.

Quilling is also one of my favourite crafts and that quilled bird is just beautiful, has she made it up herself or did she have a pattern to follow? What ever it is gorgeous.

    WELL DONE Jak's Mam.

  7. Oh my, your cards are so beautiful and I just love the innovative way you have used the embossing and line embossing on the 2nd card. Please don't give up and do persuade Jak to show more of your cards so that WE can have some great inspiration.

  8. Wow your mams cards are lovely.

We all go through the spot of not having an inspiration, you just need to get in there and try.. I lost mine last year, and a friend recommended me trying a different technique I was very much into decoupage and all my cards would have this on them, my friend lent me her stamping things and before you know it, I have cards coming out of my ears, and with stamping you can use the same stamp but come out with different type cards by changing the colour sceme.

Please dont give up it would be such a waste of your talent.

  9. Hello Jak's Mam,

No way must you give up making cards. Both your cards on Jak's blog are beautiful, and the quilled card of a bird is exquisite. I could do with you to teach me how to quill, as it's a skill I have yet to learn. You are a talented cardmaker.

  23. These are both beautiful cards and what I would term 'finished' projects rather than a feeling there is something missing. They have a very professional finish. It would be a loss to the card making world if you gave up. Keep going and pass on your tips of the trade to another generation of cardmakers. Don't give up, it would be such a waste.

  24. Oh Jak your mum is so talented tell her it would be shame if she gave up now. It may be she just needs a little rest to be able to get up and go again.

  46. Your mums cards are really beautiful, they are as you say really well made, well balanced, and stun you when you look at them. Its a shame she feels she want to give up making them, as she definitely has a nak of creating gorgeous cards, please reassure her that she has a lot to give and I would love one of them myself. Its extremely good to have a hobby that will keep her mind active, and Im sure she really does enjoy making them, but is worrying that they are not good enough, they are some of the best that Ive seen while bloghopping. With love and hugs Shirleyxxxxx

  75. These cards are beautiful. Don't quit! I lost an eye last year and thought my card making days were over. However, I persevered and found ways to work around the loss of the eye. I may only have one eye but I'm still papercrafting!

  76. Hi! These cards are beautiful! Your mom is truely talented (as are you!)! I know what it can be like to lose your enthusiasm when you craft! I lost my will to crochet a few years ago and found re-newed purpose and interest when I decided to crochet for my local hospital. Maybe making cards for other people to give away would help. I came across a website called Cards For Hero's. You make homemade greeting cards that are sent to US soldiers who are deployed and fighting for their country. They use the cards to keep in touch with their family and friends. More information can been found at www.cardsforheros.org
Maybe helping other people will help your mom find her re-newed love for card making!
    All My Best,
    Rachelle
