Handmade Flowers

A girl needs to fill her time in somehow whilst sitting in a hotel room on an evening, I've never been one for venturing out on my own so I thought I would bring something to occupy my time.
A watercolour pad and paints, a paint brush, scissors and glue.

My friend Lizzy told me about a new tool on the market and I had to get it .
The Marion Smith Bloom Impression Tool, a simple little thing really.
I cut out the petals by hand and dampened the paper before adding a watercolour wash to them.
I thought it was very nice of the hotel to leave me a laminated sheet on the dresser, perfect to wipe clean when I was finished.
While the petals were still damp I began using the press.
Placing the petal on the hollow side.
Then pushing the two together, giving it a little twist.
Then hey presto a petal is formed.
I started over with another batch in yellow and then set them out in a neat row all ready to be stuck together and shaped into a beautiful rose.
You can see from the photo below I stated with 3 for the center then 4 then 5 and the last layer of 6.
I think you can see that the end result is something quite beautiful.
And from the side.
And one in pink.

Help me Choose–Photo’s

I’ve recently had some photo’s done but can’t for the life of me choose which one or ones to use, Inkspot Photography are so good they made a silk purse out of a pigs ear and I love all of them, I narrowed it down to these ones and thought I’d ask you all to help.

I’ll number them to make it easier.

What can I say?

Our lovely friends at Inkspot Photography Peter and Sue gave us a day to remember we had a family photo shoot and we had such a giggle, however, I often wonder about the mentality of the man I married, during the shoot he decided he would go into his Ricky Gervais pose and of course peter caught it perfectly, men huh!

Ricky Pose

So I’ve loads of pictures to show you and some help with my single choices but I thought the one above needed its own airing.

Stix 2 stencil sheets

I was lucky enough to have a play with the Stix2 stencil sheets today so I whipped out the Tattered Lace Lavish Bloom Leaves and some ink pads and created my own positive and negative masks, just loved the effect with these.

This one was using one of the alter able gift tags and some distress Ink Pads.

And this one using the Alterable Book mark and some vintage mist along with the distress ink pads.

Very effective don't you think?

Tattered Lace May Challenge

Mays challenge is here and this month the theme is Romance and Roses and I did cheat a little, I was so busy with Create and Craft that it just crept up on me, so the romance is all with tattered lace and the roses ahem is one prima rose at the top.

I made a very clean and simple card using Church (D332) and the Ornate Cross (D246)

Romance and Roses Tattered lace 1JH

I embossed the church die onto the aqua card and then cut around it and then cut out the church in white and over laid it onto the embossed aqua card. It makes a lovely effect.

Now please join in the challenge, it is fun and you get a chance of winning a prize too.
