A Lovely Invite

I had a surprise email from Kirstie Sleight, Editor of Cardmaking & Papercraft earlier in the week asking if I would like to join her Team of Card designers. I have to admit that I was thrilled at the request, of course my loyalties are to Imag-e-nation & La Pashe who will still be my main employer.

So after a chat with my employer (Gary) I agreed to join Kirstie's Team. I'm so excited at this new venture, I hope I can fulfill their expectations.

No rest for the wicked my recreation time will be very busy now.

I am as I write fully booked for February and have promised myself nothing more for this Month lol!

I have just finished preparing for a 2 hr show Sunday at 2pm on Ideal World Launching the next range in decoupage for La Pashe and I know they have some great prices planned so try not to miss the show Sky Chanel 644 Freeview 22.

The following week I have the trade show 3 days hard work.

I have just completed my first assignment from Cardmaking & Papercraft and another to prepare.

White Blossoms

Floral craft blossoms a white base card and Papertrey ink sympathy flourish stamped embossed in white detail powder.
I started with a white 14 x 14 base card, I cut a 13 x 13cm white iridescent card and with versamark stamped the flourish then added the white detail powder and heat embossed, I glued this onto the base card and added small pearls to the corners.
Using a splat and a funky flower punch I made the blossoms and added bigger Mother of Pearl gems to the centers then punched out the leaf and fern shapes and scored the veins with a DEET tool.
If you click on the image you will see the embossed flourish a little better as this was very difficult to photograph.

Summer by the Sea - Boating Lady

Another from the Stamping Up set Summer by the Sea.
This one is a lady just dipping her toes into the water a very relaxing image.
I stamped the image with distress inks, the background stamped onto the base card is a flourish from silent night Papertrey Ink stamp set a few pearls some die cutting with the Nestabilities and a spiral punched card stock and tied together with a lush green ribbon.

A closer view of the image the shading was done with a paintbrush and the same distress ink.

Summer by the Sea - Girl with flowers

This is the 3rd card from the Stamping Up rubber stamp set Summer by the Sea.
I decided to work on navy coloured card stock and use bleach instead of ink.
I took a piece of kitchen towel folded it in four and lay it in a tray and soaked it in household bleach (I would only use this method on orange rubber stamps and wash them immediately after stamping)
Take the stamp and dab it onto the kitchen towel then stamp onto the card stock, it is fun watching the image appear after stamping in this case it turned the navy card a lemon shade.
I then took a paint brush and shaded parts of the image by painting with the bleach.
I matched up the bleach stamped image colour with card stock and layered shaped with Nestabilities dies.
I finished with punched flowers from the same card stock
