Designer Fashion Card

Lets talk stick on toppers, anyone who knows me will also know that I don't do stick ons, anything that is ready made I struggle to call craft, I tend to like to work at my cards.
So today 9th of December is my Niece Amy's 20th Birthday and contrary to my two daughters she loves the designer clothes and definitely follow fashion.
However, I set to making her a card, then, I spotted something that oozed Amy's name at my place of work yep it was toppers. Not the normal type and not cheap either but very well put together and finished beautifully.

So I gave in counted to 10 and bought 2 lots of pre-made stick on toppers.
This one is in brown and gold the other set I bought is black and white.
I used a DL sized card and a slightly smaller piece of luxurious chocolate card and embossed it using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, I cut out the scalloped rectangle with the nestibilities die and mounted it all together tying a ribbon around the base of the chocolate card.
Lastly I placed the self adhesive toppers onto the card and said 3 Hail Mary's for my sins.

Rubber Stamping with Lemon Juice

After receiving a wonderful Christmas Card from my very talented friend Claire made by stamping with lemon juice then using a heat gun to scorch where the juice stamped image is I thought I'd give it a whirl.
I found myself wasting lots of card and even a watercolour paper until I found the correct absorbency and weight that I needed the other thing I found was the thicker the card the longer you needed to use the heat gun and I managed to melt the end of my gun then a brain wave I turned on the cooker grill and grilled the paper in half the time.
On my card it is the snowflake background that has been stamped in the lemon juice and the wording and the Bird was stamped using the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink.

Rubber Stamp Poppy Card

A hand made hat pin inspired me for this card although it doesn't take much for me to make a card with a poppy on it.
I stamped the poppy onto smooth white card and coloured it with Tombo pens, I added some white poppy paper to the 15cm x 15cm base card and tied a red ribbon around it.
Layered the hand stamped poppy onto red and green card stock and mounted it onto the card with craft foam pads.
I used craft punches to punch out the leaves and scored them to add the veins then added them to the corners of the card with a few gold gems and the hat pin slotted through the ribbon to finish.

Santa Collage Stamp - Rubber Stampede

Christmas hand made cards are made very easy with the Santa Collage rubber stamp by Rubber Stampede, I believe it is still hard to get hold of but I know that Krafty at Krafts in the US has it for sale, I've had mine 2 years now and it is still one of my favorite Christmas stamps.
I inked the stamp with Versafine Toffee a new colour out and stamped it onto cream card stock, I used stickles glitter glue to give it some sparkle then mounted it onto a Nestablities Label cut from old gold coloured card stock.
I then used the same ink to stamp up the flourish stamp from the Silent night stamp set by Papertrey Ink and stamped onto a cream tent fold A6 card and again added glitter.
I used different snowflake craft punches to punch shapes from the gold card then add glitter to them and layered then up, Don't they just pop?
I layered all of the pieces together and finished with a satin ribbon.

A closer view of the snowflake, as you can see the glitter doesn't need to be perfect to become effective. Ialso added a gold stone to the center of mine.

Hero Arts - Dandelion Stamp

This every day card was made using the Hero Arts Dandelion Stamp.
Make a wish then blow!
I coloured it with water colour pens misted it with water and stamped onto smooth white card, depending how much you spray the stamp will depend on the effect you get, this one was sprayed 3 times, you can get a more abstract effect by spraying more.
I used a background paper by Anna Griffin and glittered it with stickles glue.
I layered it together using nestabilities for the scalloped rectangle and tied it all together with a ribbon and a couple of pearls.
I finally managed to get a card put together (decorating to blame) I was panicking not knowing when I would get back to my card making.

Aircraft Decoupage - La Pashe

These are made from one of the La Pashe decoupage sheets you get 3 good sized aircraft to a sheet, the attention to detail on these aircraft are amazing.
Just brilliant to make your card making easy for mens cards.

Penny Black Stamp - Mother card

A watercolour technique is used to create the Penny Black Curlicue real flower stamp image that you see on this card, I used water colour felt tipped pens to colour directly onto the rubber stamp I then sprayed the stamp with a fine mist of water a couple of sprays then stamp onto the card, this gives the effect of hand painted flowers, now isn't that amazing?
I layered up with Nestabilities and a pretty Once upon a time paper.
I used a previously made up blossom and added a ribbon to finish.

Christmas Pudding Card

I used a Pink Petticoat image for this card, I thought it would be a perfect Christmas card for Lauren my Daughter who is expecting our first Grandchild.
Isn't it a fun image?
I coloured it with Tombo oens and layered it up ontop of Nestabilies die shapes, I printed the wording and holly directly onto the card from publisher on my computer.
I ribbon and a bit of stickles glue to finish.
