Theres a new kid on the block! ok then a new digi company with some gorgeous girls just awaiting some colour.

I made mine into an inspirational card for when someone needs a little pick me up to know you care.

Backing papers are by Raspberry Road designs called Fight like a girl. i even got out my sewing machine for this one.

Apple of my Eye

With Valentine just around the corner I started to think of card without the slushy feel to them but something that would give a smile and still the meaning of the day is there, this one just ticks all of the boxes for me.

Made on a Kraft base card and teamed with gorgeous ribbon and bakers twine from Ribbon Carousel all of the other elements and papers are from Raspberry Road designs I also used the Viva Decor Crackle paint on opposite corners and buffed it with precious metal gold from Creativity Direct.The image was cut out using the circle Nestabilities both plain and scalloped.

My lovely man is taking me out for a little fresh air today, still in pain but hopefully the worst is over.

Bride and Groom

Morning friends, it’s Friday and those that get the weekend off work will be counting their blessings today.

My card today is Bride and Groom Dancing by Mo’s Digital Pencil

I’m still having mega problems with my mouth, and the medication is knocking me for six, so much so that I daren’t drive so my lovely man is going to take me to hospital this morning as I have to get my bloods re checked, I think the meds along with a low blood count is maybe why I can’t seem to walk in a straight line and feel so sickly.

I still have a gaping hole in the bottom gum but the top is closing so hopefully the bottom will follow soon.

Promarker Limited Edition

Spring will soon be here and to celebrate this Letraset have produced a Promarker Limited Edition to the family. Six new fresh colours, how exciting. They are all in the pastel family and would be a fabulous edition to your collection.

I thought I should give them a whirl with a new addition card.

I used three of the new colours on my card, Fresh Meadow, Daffodil Bloom and Budding Rose. I love these colours and they lay down with a chalky look to them but without the mess.

Don’t wait to long to get yours as they could be gone.

Floral Fancies–Freebie

I was asked the other day for more colours of a freebie i made in 2009 so I thought it would be nice to share with you all, 5 sheets in beautiful shades. if you want them smaller for an embellishment rather than a feature, you could always print them at half size. I would recommend a soft gloss paper like a satin or decoupage paper for the best results.

Wisdom Update

I couldn't take the pain any longer so I took myself back to the dentist this afternoon, it appears I have a bad case of dry socket infection in where my bottom wisdom tooth would have been. So a big box of antibiotics and soluble Co Codamol, corsodyl mouth wash and I topped it up with corsodyl toothpaste too. if you don’t here of me in the next two days it could be that I have lock jaw eeeek!

Ok tablets taken mouth swilled, now time for a little nap methinks.

Well I keep taking the pain killers but they take longer to kick in and a sure know when I’m ready for more, a sore mouth leaves you pretty miserable I can tell you, I think part of the problem is my tongue it just can’t leave it alone and I look pretty silly going through the day holding it to stop it wandering.

I decided that a spring card might be just the ticket to cheer me up.

I feel like I have let you all down this weekend, I felt so unwell over the last couple of days that I just haven't made any cards at all, I have coloured images when I felt up to it but no card made. Chris was on a course with the fire brigade on Sunday and I spent most of the day in bed, although I did manage to make a shepherds pie for him coming home.

I made this layout of our Grandson Jack a little while ago but didn’t get to show it to you so at least I have something visual to show you. I could show you the gaping holes where my wisdom teeth were but I figure you wouldn’t appreciated the photo.

Welcome Saturday

What a day Friday was, firstly it would have been my Brother Russell’s birthday, he was lost at sea while serving in the Merchant Navy at the age of 17, just a lad in his prime with the world at his feet.

Then my morning started with a trip to hospital for my bloods to be done followed late morning by a trip to the Dentist to have 2 wisdom teeth removed, now I am a bit of a wus when it comes to dentists due to a drill happy one in my youth, but they had to come out so out they are and pretty painful at that, it made me realise the pain that Natalie must have been in earlier in the month.

The tea time came a call from the hospital to say they were concerned about my blood count and to stop the meds that keep my pains at bay and I need to go in again next week.

So I’m pleased to see Saturday morning, I still have considerable pain but I suspect that each day will get better.

I thought I would share this scrapbook page with you, the picture is one from my wedding day and this is Chris’s favourite picture, it always make me giggle and think start as you mean to go on ha,ha…

It’s quite ironic because we rarely have cross words, we tend to listen to each other and talk about things before the heat sets in, something that has worked for us as last year we celebrated out 25th Anniversary.

Dream–Victoria Case

Every now and again something special comes along which was what happened when I made a purchase from Victoria Case, we became facebook friends and I was given a free image to work with along side her other facebook friends. So here she is, the Facebook Fairy.

Coloured with Copic markers and prisma pencils then smooched the background with a gold rub and teamed it with gold and iridescent papers from my stash, lace, ribbon and pearl pin and a whimsy ticket. the Flourish is a die from Memory Box.

This little one reminds me of myself when I was young, I was quite a handful and my Mam and Dad would often say they didn’t know how I survived to be an adult, apparently if it wasn’t for family and friends I would have ended up in the raggy home eek!.

Husbands eh! and Blog Candy

I was just chatting with one of my crafty friends about husbands taste in music when driving in the car and then I remembers the little gem that I got in the car to one morning.

I have been known to slide down my seat in the car in the hope that know one notices me when Chris is driving and puts on his own music but this one beat them all.

Picture the scene, dashing out early morning so that I won’t be late for work I jump in the car and turn on the ignition and wham the music is full blast, Chris had had the car the previous night and this is the little gem he left for me to listen to.

Saturated Canary–Janessa

I had loads of fun with this card, the image is Janessa by Saturated Canary Digis I used Copic sketch Markers to colour the digi stamp and the background designer papers are a mixture of Raspberry Road Designs digital papers and My Memories Suite Girlfriend papers I designed the layout of the card in My Memories Suite software by making an 8 x 8 scrapbook layout, once I had everything looking how I wanted it I saved the individual papers then printed them out.

I embellished the card with a satin ribbon bow a Spellbinders Sprocket die cut, twine gems and a button.

Viva Decor Craco Crackle Colour

Its ages since I got my fingers dirty and I love playing with different mediums and decided to give the Viva Decor range a whirl, I used the Craco Crackle Colour paint and the Precious Metals Paint and made a crackled book my supplies were bought from Creativity Direct

As it was difficult to photograph I took three pictures for you.

You can see how well the Craco Crackle colour works, it did state to leave it 24 hrs but I managed to speed up the process to 20 minutes just by using a heat gun.

It is easy to apply as you can use a paintbrush and add a fairy thick layer or use a pallet knife to spread it.

I only added the Craco Crackle to the outer casing and spine of the book once I new it was cracked and dried I sponged over some of the precious metal paint and painted the inside of the book with it too, i finished the book by attaching a ribbon around the book and tying a bow and added some memory embellishments to the front.

I used the smaller of the two books to decorate

I used a couple of the Memory Box dies the snowflake flourish and the big snowflake, the sizzix snowflake embossing folder and a Spellbinders Label die which I painted with the Viva Decor Croco Crackle colour and then used the precious metal paint of the top from Creativity Direct and yes I squealed when it cracked ha ha! I used copic markers to colour the image. I finished off with stickles glitter glue and a pretty ribbon from Ribbon Carousel

My Nana

Morning , this is my first day back at work (frown) I just know there’s going to be far too much to catch up with but hey ho I’ll give it my best shot.

I didn’t get a card made last night but I did some colouring in between the nose dripping lol!

However I did manage a couple of layouts as I could keep my head upright so less nose drips to contend with. I know it’s gross but what could I do?

The subject was easy, My Nana, such a special lady.

Family Matters

Good morning, hope you are enjoying the weekend, today is my last day off work after a long Christmas break, my last few days has been spent nursing a head cold, but no worse than others have had it so I will survive.

Today my lovely husband is busying around the front room, it’s been tidied and he is now about to vacuum and dust, love that man!

We are having the family for Sundays dinner, no we aren’t eating them but they are coming over for their fix of Yorkshire puddings and Sundays dinner, all except Natalie who is spending the day with her friend, she is much much better now and will also be returning to work tomorrow.

I was looking over past photographs last night, our Granson Jack is now quite the chatty chap with the why? and What? questions that seem to flow in abundance he has grown so fast. I even had to buy a booster seat for our dining room chairs rather than his high chair for this Sunday dinnertime.

My card today is made using Ragged Romeo by Mo’s Digital Pencil such a super cute little couple this, right down to there little boots.

Do you remember your first love, you know the one that broke your heart as a youngster and you thought it was the end of the world?

I know the word is quite often used as a day to day word as in “I love that” “isn’t that lovely” but to actually be in love is the best thing in the world.

Now this image just sings out the word love don’t you think?

I am getting quite a collection of Saturated Canary Digi’s now, this one I love it’s Pink Punkette, cool or what?

Coloured with FlexMarkers by Letraset (love those pens) and teamed with Nitwit Collections Berry designer papers. I even decoupaged the little mouse.

Such a sweet thing isn’t she?

I added some Glossy Accents by Tim Holtz to the letters to make them pop. It makes them look like expensive embellishments, well worth having in your craft stash.

Also a little detail added to the corner, button, ribbon, lace and gems. I added a bit of love to finish the card.

Little Walker

Oh how I remember those first steps, just how wobbly they are and more often than enough then land on their bums, thanks heavens for nappy padding. Before long they are like whippets and you need to be as fast as Linford Christie to catch them ha ha!

I used Papertrey Ink designer paper, a piece of lace and papertrey Ink ribbon, some block letters that I picked up at the early learning center a couple of paper flowers and a pretty pink button.

Needs Mummy–Get well card

I thought I should set to and make a card for my wonderful neighbour who is currently in hospital. I.m hoping that they get her sorted out real quick.

I decided on Needs Mummy by Mo’s Digital Pencil and carried the patterned paper through to the inside of the card and also added a little bow in there too.

We had another drama last night, our neighbour was took into hospital, I love my neighbours they are the best you could find, and elderly couple who in 25 years that we have lived here there has never ever been a cross word and that is a rarity in this day and age, say a prayer for Joyce for a speedy recovery please, I spoke to George this morning and he is quite upset as they have never been apart.

Just a Boy

Morning all, well my sleeping pattern is getting no better, I’m in bed early now, mostly before 10pm that is actually very early for me as I used to struggle to be in bed before 2am, I am waking a number of times during the night and normally wide awake and bushy tailed by 3am and having to force myself back to sleep until around 5.30am, I am absolutely bushed to say the least, it is like walking through a fog.

This morning the whole household was up and having a cuppa by 6.30 and Natalie although still in a lot of pain is looking much better, she is presently as sound as a baby laying on the sofa.

I have started to pack up the Christmas decorations but need his nibs to get it all into the loft for me.

My card today is made using a digi stamp from Spesch stamps

Coloured with Copic sketch markers then teamed with Stampin Up designer papers and the lucious ribbon is from Ribbon Carousel lurve… her ribbons, most are from Maya Art.

I’m hoping to pop to the local garden centre today as I have had my eyes on a beautiful wire Christmas tree that I’m hoping will now be in the sales, I bought a little pottery nativity from there just before Christmas which I love. So I’ll take Natalie along if she is well enough and we’ll have a coffee while we are there.

A Journey Best Forgotten

Well we had a very sober celebration which is fine by me a a half bottle of larger and I’m a bit sqiuffy. Hope you lot did it in style.

Natalie continues to get better and I took her for a bit of fresh air in the car, ha ha. To see out Lauren as she was missing Jack and then to my Mams, we didn’t stay long as i knew it would take it out of her but she was climbing our walls and needed a change of scene.

She did end up spending the rest of the day laying on the sofa but at least she had a good morning.

What I didn’t tell you all is that Natalie is a smoker and has now gone 5 days without one, in her words she is clamming for one but I have tried to advise her in the fact if she does have one it is putting poison back into her mouth and we really can’t chance the risk of her face being re-infected. I know how hard it is to give up but she is doing amazing and I’m so proud of her doing without.

I Figured whats happened to her should be Scrapbooked so I did a page layout using My Memories Suite

And as we visited Jack this morning I made a page layout of him too.

Wishing you all the very best that 2012 could possibly bring for you but most of all I wish you the very best of health.

I couldn’t even begin to thank you all for the support you have shown to me over the last year, many who have become good friends through my blog and I always feel so blessed to have such wonderful caring people dropping by each day and some of you leaving a comment to warm my heart.

I couldn’t bring in the New Year without a card so I chose Date by Mo’s Digital Pencil to start 2012 after all The new Year signifies New Beginnings.

I used the Tim Holtz clock face die and spritzed it with Glimmer mist and coloured the image with FlexMarkers by Letraset, Cuttlebug alphabet dies for the 2012 a Bo Bunny background paper and a pretty satin gold ribbon.

Happy New Year from myself, Chris, Natalie, Lauren and Grandson Jack.

Bless her Heart

Just look at what those gorgeous girls of mine organised for me. While I escaped to do a quick shop for more Natalie supplies, she called Lauren.

This is what she called her for, I think I have two very beautiful daughters, inside and out.

Aren’t they gorgeous? it was to thank me for taking care of her, totally no need for her to do this but I love them.

Natalie is a little dis-heartened as her face has puffed up this afternoon but I’m sure it is just part of the process to getting better.

On the Eve

A new morning has dawned and we awoke at 6am, Natalie had a reasonable night but was very ready for her meds this morning, the swelling in he face continues to reduce and all is well in the Heath household.

Still a little way to go but my God what a difference.

Chris is working all weekend so we won’t be awake to see the New Year in this year, I think we will be having an early night.

Natalie Update

I have got Natalie home again, she’s far from well but is on the right track again, at present she is sleeping sound on the sofa.

I managed to get her to eat a little ham broth and she enjoyed it and said she would have more later.

She is still not really ready for visitors as we found out earlier, her face is still very swollen and is still in considerable pain so if you feel the need to visit her over the next few days please be aware that you mustn't stay long as it is too much for her, she is very weak and has great difficulty in trying to talk.

On the other side of things it is wonderful to have her home.

Well what a day we had yesterday, I got a call from the hospital asking me to come in as Natalie was in a right state, I had to call Chris from work as he had the car so we both set off for the hospital together.

When we got there bless her she was in a state, both sides of her face puffed up and swollen and it turned out that they were going to have to remove a tooth as this was the reason behind the infection, it was at the root of the tooth she had had work on a year ago. Unfortunately they couldn’t put her to sleep and she was terrified. It wasn’t the thought of them taking out the tooth but the thought of them touching her face as it was so very painful.

They asked me if I would go with her but I declined and very nicely volunteered her Dad. I can’t bare to see my girls go though stuff like that and couldn’t even go with them for baby vaccines Chris always had to do it.

They tried to inject and freeze the area which left Natalie crying out with the pain, they left it a little while and it did freeze, they had to cut around the tooth then they managed to extract it, her Dad said the only way to describe it was by saying it was like popping the cork out of a champagne bottle as the poison in her face just poured out from where the tooth had been and it just kept on coming out. So some of the swelling has gone down.

Natalie came back from having it removed with the doctor but not her Dad, he went quite queasy and considering he is a fireman and deals with some of the most gruesome of events it was unusual but he said it was a total different kettle of fish when it’s your own daughter your dealing with.

We left Natalie to get home and grab some rest before returning for the evening visit. When we got back to the hospital her friend was there and we could see that Natalie was unwell, she had been vomiting and she said that she felt very lethargic and very weak.

The smell of all the nastiness coming out of her is gross to say the least. We managed to get her lay down and back off to sleep before we came away.

We are praying she gets a good nights sleep and is much betting in the morning.

Hoping–Natalie

Last night when we went in to visit Natalie we found her asleep, this sleep was well needed as she has been in so much pain she has had very little of it these past few days, they have upped her pain relief and they seemed to have knocked her out. We hadn’t been there long before she awoke and the tears started falling. They have put her on Tramadol, something that both myself and my Mam already take for our pain and although they are very good they can knock you sideways so to speak.

Natalie is feeling a little sickly and dizzy from the new meds but if they can take away the pain she has got then it could be worth it. She managed to eat some dinner, a cheese omelette and said it was quite tasty so that was a bonus as normally hospital food is quite bland.

She also had a facial X-ray after we left yesterday afternoon so hopefully they will find the cause of what is happening with Natalie.

Natalie is very upset, worrying that her face will stay like it is at present but we have tried to reassure her that once the infection is under control she will start to see an improvement, sometimes things have to get worse to get better and that seems to be what is happening at the moment, the swelling looks as if it is going to the other side of her face but not as excessive.

I have everything crossed that she has had a good nights rest and when I get in to see her this afternoon I will see some improvement.

Another update–Natalie is Worse

Please keep Natalie in your thoughts, poor love is quite poorly, State of play when we went in to visit her was that she hadn’t been seen by a doctor, I went to the desk and asked when the doctor would be there and they said they would chase it up, after 2 more request and a couple of hours the one that arrived was full of apologies, they had missed her when they did the rounds.

It seems that she should have been getting drops and hadn’t and he seems to have now took her under his wing to sort out her pain relief and get some scan of her face done.

Anyway I’ll let you judge for yourself how she is looking.

Daughter Update

Poor Natalie got steadily worse last night and we ended up going through to A&E as the swelling increased as did the pain.

The have admitted Natalie into hospital as the area that is of concern is the Danger Area for the Face, they have mentioned Facial Cellulitis, she has been put on a drip for antibiotics and pain relief.

Well what a to do, my daughter Natalie took bad on Christmas day with pains in her face she took the usual pain killers thinking she had a bad tooth and needing a dentist, it seemed to get a little better by the evening but on boxing day got even worse and started to swell.

We called the doctors helpline and were given a number for an emergency dentist to call today we couldn’t get her looked at until 5.30 pm and had to go to the University Hospital, to be honest I thought it was an abscess but it turns out that there is nothing wrong with her teeth it seems to be an infection in her face, poor soul looks like she has gone 10 rounds in the boxing ring, I’ll let you see for yourself.

So after a couple of hours we got home with antibiotics and pain killers in hand and a frozen bag of peas as a compress, she is due back in work tomorrow but if this is no better I won’t be letting her go.

Sharing the Memories

Morning everyone, I hope the red suited fat man was good to you all. We had a wonderful day here and bless my hubby Chris for taking over the kitchen and doing the bulk of the work, not only is he an amazing cook but he’s a pretty amazing dish washer too.

We had tropical temperatures in our home as the heating has decided to do it’s own thing for Christmas and just fires up went it feels like it, the control downstairs had new batteries installed and now doesn’t want to talk to the boiler, out to get yet more batteries today just in case the ones we have are duds, on the plus side we have to keep running up stairs to shut the boiler down so we are working off our Christmas indulgencies.

Well the time has come to wish you all a wonderful Christmas however you are spending it I’m wishing for it to be a magical one for you. I will be having the family at mine for Christmas dinner and I only have a few finishing touches to get done for the big day.

Beef, Lamb and Turkey will adorn our plates and Chris has promised to make the stuffing while i’m in charge of the pumpy (mushy) peas, the table will be set and it will be wonderful to have the family fill it.

So good old Father Christmas has been watching, “he knows if you are sleeping, he knows if you’re awake, he knows if you’ve been good or bad so be good for goodness sake.”

He has been extra busy this year trying to get everything ready on time.

I know he’s all but got the sleigh packed and is nearly ready to set off on his journey.

Getting Ready for Christmas

I think we all like everything in place for Christmas, The aches for the preparations tend to far exceed the day itself, But I know I for one sit down on Christmas Eve and enjoy the fruits of the labour that has gone in to making it a very special day.

The Christmas Hamper this year will be a chocolate treat ready for sharing and oh yes I will delight in saving the boxes for some craft project for the New Year, the sumptuous sheer ribbon is sure to come in handy too. of course I could divide this Christmas Hamper and give out individual Chocolate boxes but I’m just not sure if I can part with them.

There is one flower that just oozes the Christmas Spirit for me and that is the Poinsettia, it’s vibrant leaves scream out Christmastime and if like my Mam you have green fingers you will be able to keep it going year after year, I’m certain she talks to it.

Mine is so beautiful now that it will be the center piece on my table, Granson Jack feels the need to touch the leaves of mine each time he comes in, I think it is because they look so like velvet,if you recall I made some free sheets with my Poinsettia photo for you all. I’ve added another below.

I find the hardest gift to get is for both mine and Chris’s Mams, the trouble is that if they want something they go and get it and anything we think of they seem to already have, luckily for me my Mam already new what she wanted this year.

My mother in law was another story, in the end she asked for money but I felt that I couldn’t let the occasion pass with out getting a few gifts for her. After all I get much more pleasure in giving a gift than I do in receiving them, I love to watch the faces of them opening up the surprize don’t you?

I’m hoping that this little one will blow the snow here for Christmas morning, I love a white Christmas, there is just something magical about it, I know Grandson Jack would love it, he wasn’t really old enough to know what is was last year when we had it so I would love to know his reaction to it now. I can remember tossing my head back and catching the snowflakes on my tongue when i was young and laying flat on my back waving my arms to make an angel print in the snow.

I used the Penny Black holly stamp and heat embossed with white detail powder then used pale blue ink to swirl over the top to create the blue haze, the ribbon is scrumptious and from the Ribbon Carousel I only used around a 3 inch piece of it and fastened a button to the middle, the lace ribbon holds its shape so was perfect for this.

I spent the afternoon with my Monday afternoon with my Mam and what a treat we had, we went to the local garden center and they had the reindeer there and you were allowed to feed them, I couldn’t believe just how friendly they were.

You could have knocked me over with a feather when my DD Natalie asked if she could colour one of Mo’s images and make a card. Natalie has always been my judge when I push a card in front of her nose to check her reaction to it, I can tell instantly by her expression weather or not she approves but this is the very first time she has shown an interest in actually making a card herself, I have to say that I am very very impressed.

hi all, Natalie here, as my Mam mentioned earlier this is the first card I have made and I have to tell the truth I didn't realise how much work went into creating them (you crafters make it look so easy!). When I asked my mam if I could colour one of Mo's images I expected it to take ten minutes but boy was I wrong …after a lot of effort (and coaching from Mam) I had finally finished the colouring and was ready to make it into a card. I must admit the card didn't take long to put together once the image was complete and above is the final result.

As this is my first card I would love to hear your comments and criticisms and we have decided that on Christmas Eve we will pick a lucky winner from the comments for a spot prize.

The one that nearly got away.

I bet most of you have done this, there I was cleaning out the cupboard that everyone chucks things in but no-one likes to find anything in, i was being ruthless, throwing out everything that my hands touched and I was just about to put a stiff backed envelope into the bin when I decided to look inside it, no writing clues on it at all and it didn’t particularly feel as if there would be anything inside it so why I looked I’ll never know but I’m pleased I did.

inside the envelope was a photograph of our two daughters from when they were young not a small postcard one but a 8” x 10” one.

The Real Heart of Christmas Time

We forget forget to thank all of the hard working Mamma’s around the world put in to making it a special Christmas for all the family to enjoy. We al love our presents but behind the scenes is a special someone that brings it all together, so my card is dedicated to all of them.

Mummu’s Nissu by Mo’s Digital Pencil she’s not really a Christmas image but I think it works very well.

Once my girls were old enough to want to stay at home for Christmas Dinner so they could play with their presents I took over the role of preparing Christmas Dinner and my Mam got to have a rest from it, She’ll be joining us this year too along with Grandson Jack and his mam and Dad.

A Special Gift from Katie

Those of you that have been with me for a while will know that my dear friend Katie Renz passed away recently, such a sad time for both family and friends of such a dear, dear lady.

When Katie and I chatted we would often talk about living close to the sea, although many miles between us we would call each other across the sea friends and after the fund raising you all helped me with, Katie wanted to do something for me, I jokingly said to her send me a pebble from your coastline and I’ll use it as a paperweight, of course Katie immediately said she would and to be honest I never gave it a second thought.

Then I got the devastating news that Katie had slipped away from us and her husband Kevin's Mum told me she needed my address because Katie had indeed gone and chosen a pebble from their coastline and given her the task of having it engraved for me. Katie even while so poorly still thought of others.

It arrived on Friday with a beautiful thank you card that friends made for the family to give out and the most gorgeous ribbon bow, inside the card it read “The ribbon from your flowers” these were the flowers that I sent for Katie's funeral. I sat on the floor and wept. Not with sorrow but with gratitude that Katie was part of my life and that both Kevin (Katie’s Husband) and Elizabeth (Katie’s Mother in Law) are still part of my life and beautiful people.

So as you can see I have a fabulous paper weight and every time I pop a piece of craft paper under my pebble I will think of my dear friend Katie Emmerson Renz. miss you Katie xxx

Still in the paint and brush phase, and aching like you know what. Most of the satin wood is finished except the skirting boards need an extra coat, oh yes and as Chris lifted the carpet, Jak got wood spelks in her butt while shuffling along to paint. oh Joy!

So Corinthians love is patient is very apt here at the moment.

and the kind bit came into play when Chris made dinner and then finished what I couldn’t do and let me nap on the sofa. (love that man)

Oh I’m so behind with all of the decorating going on, The electrician is on his way as I type and then I have a date with the paint paint brush and a pot of satin wood paint. urgh!

My craft room is growning as I pass by it but thankfully I can sit down at my computer when I need a break and still do something a bit crafty.

Help!

Will we ever be ready for Santa Claus? we have started on the long drawn process of renovating our stair case, in our wisdom 25 years ago we decided to artex the walls of our stair case, what can I say we were young and penniless and one drop length of wall paper took a whole roll so the cost of a half decent wall papered stairs was just out of our penny limit.

It has been the bain of our lives for at least 10 years, too thick to plaster over the top of and no matter what we tried it just wouldn’t budge.

This year was make or brake and we hired an industrial steamer an my Chris my better half plodded on with steamer and a long handled bladed scraper and bit by bit chipped away at it suffering some horrendous blistered and coming close to death by electrocution going straight through an electric cable.

well all that aside we as in the royal we got the artex off the walls then Friday the lads came in and made good our walls. We are still far from being done, the sanding of gloss paint work has begun and tonight Chris pulled up the carpets while I cleaned behind him, he did comment whilst taking up the carpet that they must have been giving the nails for nowt when I layed it because of the amount I'd hammered in (cheeky devil.)

So here is a couple of shots of the state of play that we are in, the first is of Chris peeping around the landing whilst pulling out the left over nails.

As you can see we have smooth walls but there is 4 doors and frames to paint and a long landing barrier from where Chris is peeping right back to the bathroom, all the skirting boards including the ones that come down the staircase and then 2 doorways at the bottom of the stairs and only then can we start thinking of putting the paint on the walls, We have an electrician coming out on Wednesday to fit 2 new light and switches and a carpet fitter booked for the 16th eek!

Lauren my eldest daughter started with her Christmas Tree and Jack just loves to add the baubles, Kyle my ready made Grandson and Jacks brother was with them for the weekend so it was a perfect time to get the Christmas Tree sorted.

I just love it when they are freshly bathed and in their jimjams smelling like new teacakes.

Robin on a Lamp

I got a beautiful Christmas card in the post from fellow team mate Heidy and she totally inspired me to make a card with the same digi image from Just Inklined, Lamp with Robin

Coloured with Copic Markers and although it doesn’t show in the photo the pinecone background paper I sprayed with the Crafters Companion iridescent glitter spray (gorgeous) I also used to creme gold and a stipple brush from My Craft Studio to add a shimmer to the base card, oh yes Grandson Jack helped me with this stippling.

Holly and berries and ribbon for embellishments along with a couple of punched out snowflakes.

Well what a day I had on Friday, we have finally got rid of the horrible artex off the staircase and the workmen came in to put new plaster on the walls, the downside to this was I couldn’t get past them to get into my craft room and they had the back door open all day so I sat at my computer with coat and scarf on and made some backgrounds for you all instead.

Before I give you the link to the backgrounds wanted to share with you a picture of the walls as they are starting to dry, I have a terrible habit of seeing things in shapes and in fact have had to change patterned wallpaper on many occasions because of this.

Just a couple of cards to show, the first is a sample I had ready to demo but didn’t have time to make up so I thought I’d share it here for you to see.

I made a Metronome most musicians use these to keep their timing right, I remember playing with one at my Auntie Alices home, her son Alan went on to be a music teacher.

Some things in life just make you say Awe! and this is one of them things.

In the Manger by Mo’s digital Pencil just sums up Christmas perfectly.

I used Ribbon Carousel for the two gorgeous ribbons across the bottom, coloured the image with copic markers and prisma pencils and the background designer papers are Graphics 45.

Hooray it’s Friday–Boy card

Well I’m so glad to see Friday come round I’m planning on sleeping most of the weekend, I need to get shot of this bug in time for Tuesday as I’m back at Create and Craft oh yes and…. I’m colouring with Promarkers and FlexMarkers by Letraset (squeal!) with new products from Just Inklined, I need to do a shout out to Toni, Karen, Lydia & Paula for their sample cards for the shows as they are fabulous (Thanks girls, your the best)

So onto my card for today, Skateboard Schoolboy by Mo’s Digital Pencil cool dude or what? he’s brilliant.

My they’ve come a long way from one roller skate and a Jackie Annual.

I used the faithful Spellbinders Label 4 die to cut out the shapes, coloured with Promarkers added ribbon and buttons to finish.

I intend getting out of bed only for the X-Factor on Saturday evening.

Taleesa has had her wrists slapped for advertising her perfume The female Boss which is tattooed across her arm so lets see if she does it again this week.

I think this is so stinking cute and I think that every Mama out there must have seen an image like this at one time or another, I know I have.

This little girl is geared up for a fun night, as I recall it’s not too fun for the Mum hosting as they are all awake best part of the night.

Pause for Thought

On our return home from the city we were driving along the sea front, we often see loads of people out walking many with dogs taking them for a stroll, joggers, power walkers, courting couples and generally people out for a bit of fresh air.

It gets less in the colder months as the North sea can blow a mighty chill through your bones.

Today I noticed a Mother walking with a teenage girl whom I took to be her daughter, the girl looked at me, a very pretty girl in fact beautiful, this girl had no expression not a smile nor a frown totally no expression, I could tell by the care she was getting from the lady who was with her that she wasn’t your average teenager, possibly Autism or learning difficulties.

This got me thinking, I love to hear and see my daughters laughing often winding each other up, chasing each other around the house, crying if the other is hurt, elated if they have joyous news. How often do we take that for granted, here was a beautiful girl with little or no expressive emotions, I really don’t know how I would feel as a Mother not seeing that from my girls.

Remember to count your blessings.

Ragged Santa

I wanted to make a none Traditional Santa for my card and as soon as I saw Ragged Santa from Mo’s Digital Pencil I knew he would fit the bill.

I used a couple of my own backgrounds and one from Graphics45 a Cheery Lynn doily die and a whispers snowflake die, some Thickers scrapbook letters this one is Glass Slipper, Promarkers and Prisma pencils to colour the image and ribbon and pearls to finish

Dream Team Blog Hop–Make a Gift

It’s that time again and this Months theme for the Blog Hop is Make a Gift and Lori is the host and that is where the blog hop begins.

So for my project I decided on a couple of Angel tea light lamps.

This one was made using Michael available from Mo’s Digital Pencil

And this one made with Henry’s little Lamb from Mo’s Digital Pencil

The pictures above were taken when the lamps were lit so I thought I would show you the colour of the images when the light were off.

For those eagle eyed amongst you, you will have notice that the lamp stands are nothing more than a couple of wine glasses.

Bathing Beauties–Tempting Tuesday

I’m sharing this today because it has a feel good factor to it, it is a picture of my Mam, Auntie and their friend on the beach, I’ve made it into a scrapbook layout but what I really want you to check out is the old guys in the background of the photo, sitting on the beach in top hats and suits in the brilliant sunshine ogling and the girls getting their photo taken.

I’m still using My Memories Suite and I’m in love with it.

The brilliant thing about this software is that you can use any papers or elements like ribbons that you already have on your computer you don’t just have to use what's in the software.

Well it has been a long haul to get a card made, my MoJo has been so lacking since Katie left us, the funeral is on Monday and I would like you all to say a prayer for her family.

I had a bit of a moment trying to get flowers sent to the Chapel but I managed at 3am Friday morning, silly time I know but I actually managed an early night on Thursday and climbed the stairs to bed at around 9:45pm pretty unheard of for me and resulted in me being wide eyed and bushy tailed silly a.m. Friday morning.

The image I have chosen to make a card with is Make a Wish by Mo’s Digital Pencil and the main background paper for the card I made myself and you can get it here for free

Training– Late Tempting Tuesday
