Big News

I say big as it is my behind that has been growing since giving up the cigarettes I stupidly replaced them with chocolate and my word did my bum grow bigger.
So off to Slimming World I went, I was super good and ate all my free foods and a few allowed Syns along the way, tonight was weigh in night.
I lost 2 lbs I have to admit I was a little dissapointed as I know how good and focused I was but 2 lbs off is after all the same weight as a bag of sugar so really I should be well pleased.
If you are trying to shed a couple of pounds please feel free to leave a comment.

Jak, 2lbs is good and if that's your first week you may find you have a lot more off next week. I used to feel the same and sometimes my loss showed every 2 weeks not every week. Don't be too dissapointed.
Keep your chin up Jak.

If you hadn't been good last week you may have put on 1 or 2 pounds so your loss is really a bit more than it seems.

I'm on my third week at Weight Watchers - again!

Jak, 2 lbs is a great start, especially if you do it smartly and keep it off. Remember, you are changing your lifestyle to be healthier and such a big change is going to take time. I am on the path with you. I have been able to lose 10 lbs since the holidays. Slow and steady wins the race. Chin up!

Jak,
Congratulations on the loss. Just remember one day at a time. Sometimes even one minute at a time. You have a lot of company in this endeavor so you also have a lot of support. (I am like you, down 2 in a week).

I'm not trying until all winter visitors have returned home from AZ -- what's the use?!!! I'd say LOL, but my weight is far from funny!!! Seriously, Jak, though 2 lbs. a week is GREAT!!! Keep up the good work; it will pay off!!! If you lose too fast, you won't keep it off. Keep up with it & about April I'll be right there with you in spirit & dieting!!! I did get a counter-height table for stamping, so I'll sit less/stand more! Love it!!!

I need my weekly weigh-ins to keep me on track. Every time I stop, the pounds creep back on! 2 pounds is great - if you take it off too fast, it's going to come back. 1 to 2 pounds per week is a good steady rate of loss that can be maintained. The main thing is you are doing something, making changes - that's AWESOME! You GO, girl!

Well done Jak on the loss. I need to lose also and as there is no slimming clubs here, doing it online. Have been losing about a pound or so a week but had a little blip last week.

Keep sticking in. Slimming World does work.

Keep up the good work!!! I got myself a very pretty water bottle-and keep it full and with me. I've had to cut back on caffiene (high blood pressure) so I go for the water instead of coffee (with sugar and milk) soda (with artificial sweetner)--and I found I have been craving sweets less! I don't snack as much the more I stamp so long periods of that might help too (wink!)! Blessings, Sharon

Jak, great job. I bet I gained 2 lbs. this week. I quit smoking 2 years ago now and I can't believe how much weight I gained. It just keeps creeping up on you so the the sooner you take control the better. I was thinking that I should have really paid attention a long time ago. I so need to excercise. The not smoking is huge though. Don't you feel better?

Oh Jak!
2lbs. is fantastic for your first week, especially if you trying to quit smoking on top of it. Remember, your body and metabolism is adjusting to the lack of nicotine, and now calories. It'll take some time for it to stable out, but hang in there! You're doing terrific.

I started with SparkPeople.com back in August and have lost 20 lbs. I have since not counted calories, but have maintained my weight loss. I hope to get started again on this "lifestyle" change soon.

Great job! Hang in there, you can do it!

I also am ready to take my health and weight in to accountability. Mine is pure anger at my health insurance not covering my blood presser meds. So I plan to do what should have been done before LOSE WEIGHT AND EXERCISE. Your 2 lbs is great and I will join you in this.

Well Done to you! I packed in the dreaded weed 7 years ago and put on a couple of stone - I was as active when I stopped smoking as I was when i smoked - so it wasn't inactivity.. just that I began to enjoy my food more! I have recently tipped the scales at 11st and am determined to get back to 10st again (at least). I'm watching my food portions and am walking for an hour every day - in between am on the Wii Fit - doing steps! Lost 2lb in 10 days so am with you Jak!

Well done Jak 2lb is great I too go to slimming world and have lost just over 4stone and feel great, was a bit fed up this week as been very good and stayed the same but its better than a gain I suppose. And going by my experience its better to lose it steadily that way it will stay off. Keep up the good work and heres to next weeks weigh in (im doing a challenge this week, no convenience foods and 5 speed or super speed foods included each day eek)

Great NEws, keep it up and 2lbs for the 1st week is great... I lost 3st in whole of last year, and still got to go for another stone! it is hard to loose, but keep motivated, the end result if sheer bliss!! Hugs always! G

Don't get discouraged. 2lbs a week is an healthy average to drop off the weight and you very likely will see more success soon as your body realizes you're not trying to starve it, just get it back down a bit.

Well done you, losing 2lbs!! I'm back on the big diet too after gaining half a stone over Christmas. so we'll compare notes and spur each other on!! Love karen Pulman xxx

Jak, keep it up. 2lbs is a good amount to lose - much better than putting it on! Over 2 years ago I reached my Gold Weight with the opposition - Weight Watchers and had kept the weight off until Christmas when the rot set in!! I've also just come back from a week's holiday where the food and drink were excellent, so now I have to get back on track and lose those few pounds. So we're all with you Jak - you are not on your own.

Hi Jak, Well done at losing 2lbs do you know that if you lost 2lbs a week for a year you would lose 8 stone? ( not that you would need too )I am a member at slimming world and have lost my first 4 stone I say my first 4 stone because I have got more than another 4 stone to go.After spending most of my life yo-yo dieting and failing dismally I decided that once and for all I was going to be in controll of myself, I don't care if I only lose a pound a week maybe if I do it slowly and with the clubs help I may keep it off. Keep up the good work and don't be in too much of a hurry best wishes Patricia xxx

Hi Jak know what you are going through trying to lose some weight. I have been struggling for years but with my new diabetic drugs I have lost 10 kilos up until Christmas which is encouraging for me as I have so much more to lose. I have the hospital again on Tuesday so I am keeping my fingers crossed and will let you know how I get on. Every pound remember is the way forward. Take care. Liz x

I try and think in packs of butter instead of sugar because then I can see exactly what lbs of fat looks like.
Well done on stopping smoking, much much better to be a little overweight than to be a smoker :)

It comes on a pound at a time, so has to come off a pound at a time and every little pound counts!! Way-to-go!!
