Stamping Up - Sand Castle

Summer by the Sea stamp set by Stamping Up was used to stamp the the little boy building a sand castle sketch and the sentiment both stamped with Chocolate Chip ink.
I also used a spriral punch to create the the notebook edges.
This is the second card in a set of 3 cards that I have planned
I used a Kraft coloured base card then cut a smaller cream square.
Using the Chocolate Chip ink I water coloured the image, I used the spiral punch down the edge of theis and 2 other papers one in a dark chocolate colour and the other a sepia script paper then tore all of the edges abd used the ink and sponged all of the papers I then layered it all together before adding the knotted rafia.

Summer by the Sea - Couple

Summer by the Sea stamp set by Stamping Up was used to stamp the couple sketch and the sentiment both stamped with brocade blue ink.
I also used a spriral punch to create the the notebook edge.
This is the first in a set of 3 cards that I have planned
I stamped the white base card with a dandilion stamp in the blue ink then cut a smaller blue square and used the swiss dots embossing folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug using a white ink pad I swiped it over the embossed dots then distressed the edges of the blue square.
Using the blue ink I watercoloured the image and layered it all together before adding the flower decorated with crushed glass glitter.

I used 3 Sakura Flower Punches by Carla and added crushed glass glitter to the edges before layering them on top of each other.

Thank You Card

This is a stationary stamp set from PTI which at some point when I get a moment fully intend starting my own stationary and maybe a couple for gifts.
I made the thank you card by stamping the ornate black circle pattern in black ink then used a Nestabilities die to cut it out I used the next sized die to emboss a circle onto the card.
The red circle with the black pattern stamped on top was cut out the same way as the other one. I used the scalloped Nestabilities circle to cut the black scallop and used this to mat and layer using foam pads to build them up.
I stamped the single image in black ink at either side of the embossed circle on the base card I also added some black gems to the single images and on top of the red stamped circle although they don't show up in the picture they are there.
I finished the card by stamping thank you onto a scrap piece of white card and I used a word slot punch by Stamping Up to cut it out.

Flourished Sympathy Card

With Sympathy stamp set by Papertrey Ink is one of the newly released stamp sets and I have to say it has endless possibilities. I love the flourish and the sentiment.
I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat embossed using silver pearl embossing powder. Using Encore silver ink I sponged around the dark purple (almost black) base card.
I used the large label Nestabilities dies one for the silver pearl card and the smaler one in white to wich I stamped the sentiment on top in plum pudding ink.
To finish I punched out 2 holes at the side of the card and entwined a plum pudding and a silver ribbon through the holes from the front of the card and crossed them over on the inside then back out through the holes again.

Giving up

Don't worry it's not card making, it's smoking.

Now before you all tell me off and give me the you can do it speech I have to tell you that it terrifies me even the thought of giving up makes me watery eyed.

I took the first step today and visited the doctors and they are going to give me the tablets to help me, I've weighed up the pros and cons and I feel that they would be the right choice of help.

What I didn't realise is that for the first 8 - 12 days whilst taking the tablets I still have to smoke.

The main reason for packing in is my health, I've had so many colds over the last few months that has left me with a hacking cough that just won't go, then after loosing Dad my smoking increased dramatically.

I should get my tablets by Friday so I'll let you know how I get on with them.

January Blog Hop - Birthday Card

Started with a 14 x 14 cm card base then cut an extra piece of card 13.5 x 13.5cm and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder then cut the corners of this by pushing them into a circle punch so that it was covering a quarter of the circle and punching. I then took a gold marker and dragged it around the edge of this piece until I had a gold border, then attached it to the card. I punched out to Nestabilities Labels one in Gold and the next size down in White. I used Papertrey Ink Spiral Bouquet stamp set to make the floral design on the white label and gold embossing powder was used for the Bloom words and the flower head. I finished the card with a gold gem to each corner and one on top of the flower and a gold sheer metallic ribbon wrapped and tied into a bow.

Hand Painted Card

Hand painted card then used a serenity stamp and some Nestibilities Long Rectangles and a bit of ribbon to finish.
I'll never be an artist but I do like to dabble with paint, this was painted with acrylic paint.

A closer view, as you can see I'm not Picasso but I do like to try.

Rubber Stamp Tapestry - Wild Floral

I made this card using the Wild Floral set by Rubber Stamp Tapestry I just love these little peg sets, each leaf an flower are individual stamps mounted on top of wooden pegs, the beauty of this means you can use them to create frames, borders and to build your own pictures.
Each set comes with instructions of how to build up a design how neat is that?
For this card I used the Versacolor Charcoal ink and the oval Nestabilities
I sponged the ink around the edges of the card and used the Wild Floral tapestry stamps down the sides of the card. I cut out the black scalloped oval then a white plain oval was cut out and placed on top again stamped with the tapestry stamps.
I added a black velvet ribbon around the card and mounted the ovals on top of the ribbon

La Pashe Design Team

I would like to introduce you all to a new member of the La Pashe Design Team.
Jackie Semark

It didn't take me long to realise that Jackie would be an asset to our team.

I've known her for a few years now and she has developed into a very talented card maker, she thrives in decoupage and more recently in stamping.

Those of you that know Jackie will also know that she has a wicked sense of humour and in past times has been known for receiving duff products when we have been on a crafting day (or so she said)

I know when the going gets tough and when we are working to demand Jackie will be the one to lift our spirits.

for those of you that don't know Jackie yet you must check out her Blog as she has some spectacular cards on there and if that's not enough check out some of her tales on her everyday life as she will soon have your sides aching with laughter.

I must also thank Toni and Karen for the work they have done as we have had some very tight timescales and have supported La Pashe all the way. Thanks Girls

Bridge Over troubled Watercolour

I stamped the bridge by Art Impressions onto watercolour paper then painted the scene in with distress inks I love watching it develop into a scene.
Most of the painting is trial and error and I find myself painting a little bit and then walking away from it for a while before going back and painting in a little more.

In this shot you can see how I have embossed the base card with the scalloped oval Nestabilities then cut out the watercolour painting with the plain oval and glued it on top.

I used liquid pearls to dot around the painting.

Wishing Well by Whipper Snapper

This is a Wishing Well Rubber Stamp by Whipper Snapper coloured with Prisma Pencils.
The background was embossed using the Textile Cuttlebug folder and the label shapes used to cut out the Wishing Well is by Nestabilities.

A few Wishing Well traditions.
Did you know that the reason coins were thrown into a well was to give gifts to the guardians of that well as people believed that water had healing properties.
The theory was you dropped a coin into the Well and made a wish, if the coin landed face up then your wish was granted however if the coin landed face down then it wasn't.
It is said that millions of pounds each year are thrown into Wells and fountains in the hope that a wish will come true.

Watercolour Village Mens Card

This clear unmounted stamp is made by Art Impressions and is called AI Clear - English Countryside Garden set 2 I stamped the row of houses with distress inks then set to with a paintbrush, it was quite fun painting my own trees as I didn't really know for sure how it would turn out but I have to say I quite like the results.

Floral Craft Large Rose Gift

I made this Floral Punch Craft Rose from a tree punch it was a bit of a challenge as the tree punch is very very large and as it is so big the rose would be too big to go on a card but is perfect to incorporate as a gift.
It took 13 tree shapes to make the rose.
I punched out the shapes from pink light pink coloured paper then sponged cranberry ink onto each shape then using the shape forming tool I pressed downward whilst dragging the tool over each shape.
Then I used the pointed tweezers to curl the edges of the shapes to form the petals.

A close up shot of the rose.

click on the image to see it full size.

This shot of the floral punch craft rose is took from the side as I wanted to try to show you that each petal was sponged with the matching ink

The gift is inside the glass, a shower gel and body lotion.

This is the Super Giant Tree by Leone Em that I used for the petals of the rose

Wine Stamp Card

Using the Rollagraph wheel and the script stamp I rolled it into the versamark ink and rolled over my base card several times to create a watermark background pattern on the card.
the wine stamp was inked with Adirondack cranberry ink then using a damp brush I moved the ink around on the image until I got the effect I wanted. I tore along both the top and bottom of the image then embossed along the top tear line with gold detail power.
Again using the cranberry Adirondack ink I sponged around the rest of the edges to create a distressed effect.
I used the trio ribbon tags by spellbinders and stamped Thinking of You on top of is and attached it with a white ribbon.
I finished the card by edging it with a gold pen.

This shot is to show you a close up image of the card base and the effect you get by using the Rollagraph wheel with versamark onto a dark coloured card.

Flippn' Men Cards

Just a few more examples of the Flippin' Men by La Pashe

With these cards I covered the specially designed triple fold aperture cards with scrapbooking paper. The reason the Flippin Men Cards are different is not only the large size, they have a spine down either side of the aperture, the reason for the spine is so that the inside of the decoupage won't get crushed.
