Christmas Pudding Card

I used a Pink Petticoat image for this card, I thought it would be a perfect Christmas card for Lauren my Daughter who is expecting our first Grandchild.
Isn't it a fun image?
I coloured it with Tombo oens and layered it up ontop of Nestabilies die shapes, I printed the wording and holly directly onto the card from publisher on my computer.
I ribbon and a bit of stickles glue to finish.

Rubber Stamp Tapestry - Christmas Card

I love these little Tapestry craft stamps the are perfect for card making, I love the build your own tecknique each different image is an individual little rubber stamp which allows you to build your own image from scratch.
I started on a white tentfold A6 card and drew a faint pencil line around a Nestabilities circle then set to wok starting with the poinsettia's and distress ink then moved on to the holly again in the distrss ink I used gold ink for the bauble and lighter shades of green for the other foliage. I tied an irridscent ribbon into a bow and attatch at the bottom of the wreath shape.
I did the same in stamping the JOY word and againg added the tapestry stamps to the O I cut out the JOY words with the Nestabilitie squares and useing the scalloped die cut out another square in red card stock,
I finished by adding the red top notch twill ribbon and used stickles glitter glue to add some sparkle to the wreath.

Jayne Netley Mayhew - Craft CD

I bought the Jayne Netley Mayhew CD by Joanna Sheen to try it out, It is full jam packed with fabulous illustrations of Jayne's artwork, as my wonderful Mam is learning the computer I thought this would really interest her so it will be shared between the two of us.
I printed the Rhino onto smooth mat paper and layered up the image with matching card stock.
I also printed a matching background from the CD which I used on the inside of the card.
I cut part of the front of the card away and replaced it with strong acetate and used a Rollagraph stamp across the remaining card front with brown ink, I finished the card with a satin ribbon and edged the card with a Sakura calligraphy Gold pen.

Floral Craft - November Blog Hop (Floral Frenzy)

I was thrilled when I saw the theme for this months Blog Hop as most of you will know I have been adding making and adding flowers to my card making for a few month now.

I used the Silent Night Flourish By Papertrey Ink to stamp a background onto the white base card, I made up the Flower (instruction's are below) and added in to the top corner of the card,

Using the Nestabilities Label Die I cut out the 2nd largest shape and folded it in half and stamped the Everyday Blessing sentiment on the front

I attached the label onto the card and tied a ribbon around the bottom of the card and knotting it.

This is the inside of the Nestabilities folded Label, I cut paper with the next size down Label die and stamped sentiment from Everyday Blessings inside

Making the Flower
Cut out all of the pieces from the template (template at the bottom of post).
<br
1. First to make the stamen colour on both sides as shown in the template and snip with scissors to fringe the edge starting at the thin yellow end add a small amount of glue to the edge that wasn't fringed then tightly roll from the thin end finishing a the thick end of the shape the glue will hold this in place. once the glue is dray open(splay) the fringing so it looks like the stamen in the picture below.

2.Cut out 8 of the large petal shapes then using water colours paint the colour shading onto the shapes starting at the blunt end getting light to the pointed end you can see this shading in the picture below.
Once dry cup them by rolling an embossing tool inside the petal shapes. Then pinch the the blunt end of the petal this is the end you will glue onto the daisy shape petals.

3. Take the daisy and push into the center with an embossing tool then add a little glue to each of the daisy petals and attach the main coloured flower petals leaving a little gap in the centre now add the stamen by adding glue into the centre of the flower.

4. Cut some leaf shapes and score with a pointed tool (darning needle) the leaf veins and attach these to the bottom of the flower

Of Course I needed a box for the card so used the same method as the card I made a smaller flower for the top.

Butterfly Kisses - Friends Card

This was a very easy card to make.
I used the Spiral Bouquet and Butterfly Kisses stamps by Papertrey Ink.
The white base card was stamped with a multicoloured ink pad (Aurora by Brilliance) the stamped the block butterfly in the pink shade of the same ink and stamped the patterned butterfly onto parchment paper then embossed through the back of the parchment, I cut this out and adhered it at the body of the butterfly and turned up the wings to add dimension.
I used the Nestabilities Ribbon Tag dies and stamped Friends on top then edged the tag with the same pink ink.
I finished the card by tying the Ripe Avocado ribbon through the tag and around the card.

Sympathy Card - Life is a Journey

I love that sentiment and it is so true, It is part of the Birds of a Feather stamp set.
I think the tree stamp by Art-Kure lends itself very nicely to the wording.
I used a brayer and a multi coloured ink for the background and stamped the tree in Versafine black onyx ink layered it all up with matching card stock and tied a ribbon and knotted is around the centre of the card, I found a little bird punch in my craft stash and punched the bird out of some black card stock.
Oops nearly forgot I used the cuttlebug to emboss the burnt orange card.

Gibson Girl - Charles Dana Gibson's Illustration

I love the drawings of Charles Dana Gibson he was an early 1900 graphic artist who was noted for the creation of the "Gibson Girl"
The base card was stamped with a flower flourish and heat embossed gold powder, the next layer is a pretty brown and gold paper which I used a fiskers threading water border punch I then tied the cream ribbon around this and tied a bow.
I cut cream and brown ovals and sprayed the brown with a gold spritz (Glimmer Mist) and finally added the image on top of this.

The base card is in cream then I used the birds and swirls folder to emboss the pink layer and punched corner hearts I then used the swiss dot folder on some cream card and cut a circle from this i added the rose to the top of this circle.
Layered it all together and added a pink ribbon to finish.

Oh my Crazy, Crazy husband

Well what can I say other than he is as mad as a hatter.
Over the last few weeks we haven't had a great deal to laugh about and I have been pretty down today. Chris (husband) usually shaves his hair on a weekend and this one was no different, so out came the shears and whilst I was sitting at the computer he was not far from me shaving his head.
He then went on to say "well that didn't work very well" and yes I had to ask the question "What didn't"
He then turned to show me what he had done saying that I'd been so down lately he wanted to do something to make me smile.
and here it is, he had shaved just below his chest.
I think it worked perfectly

A Gift Arrived

Look what arrived all the way from the US, one of my cyber friends Julie (Grace) made this beautiful necklace for the last Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.
Not just that but I also received a wonderful Card to accompany it. I feel so very honoured that Julie sent this to me the necklace is even more stunning than the photo shows.
Thank you Julie.

Thank You for the Cards

I thought I would show you some of the wonderful cards I received from fellow crafter friends.

They are all beautiful with thought and care put into making them and wonderful words of sympathy.

I have kept the picture size quite large so if you click on the image you will get a closer look at them all.

Giving Thanks - Flourishes

Both my Mam and I thought it was only fitting to send a thank you to all that gave money for the I.C.C.U. at the hospital who were marvelous in Dads final days.
I thought after chatting to Mam last night that I'd better make a start and at least design something ready for the making, I wanted something simple yet elegant and with the right wording.
So this is what I came up with.

As you can see we need a fair few of these, so before I knew where I was I'd made 14.
At the front is the envelopes which are also stamped to match the card
with the flourish stamp by PTI.

Stamps used:
Everyday Blessing by Papertrey Ink
Silent Night by Papertrey Ink
